Casa Rustica Restaurant
Incredibly romantic atmosphere, amazing service, great food, and very reasonable prices! Would recommend to anyone!
Great food, service and good value!
I have dearly loved this restaurant - We all had a BAD meal this last time
Love casa rustica I drive 90 minutes just to eat good Italian food here vodka sauce is great ! Never had a bad experience great servers fairly priced food great experiences every time
I ordered Seafood Alfredo and it was swimming in sauce but Seafood was great! Our server was not friendly and she asked for my daughter’s order first then she went next to her husband. I was always taught to get the ladies order first and that’s the way she served our food. Not impressed and don’t think we will be back. It was my birthday and I had out that on my reservation. Much needed improvements
The food tasted excellent, and the portion sizes were very large. We ordered a rare steak but it did come out as medium rare. However, the steak was still delicious. We felt the wait staff could have been more professional and happier, which would have made our dinner occasion that much more special. However, the assistant manager was very attentive and seemed very happy to be there.
Poor food masked by quantity
fabulous service and tasty specials, always something new!
Not a great bolognese sauce which kinda wraps up an Italian restaurants right of passage. Also went with one of the specials a 6oz piece of halibut with a fruit chutney. Literally $35 for the piece of fish and salad. Given I know halibut is around $20 a pound I understand the cost but the value was super poor. Use to love this place just been down hill for long while now and think I’m done giving it “another try”. On a side note check the price of the specials. I’m not a cheap person by no means but the previous time we went and had three steak specials “no filet or lump crab meat involved” that cost me almost $180 prior to beverages....
Reservations were at 6:30 pm. Server informed us that they ran out of Blue Moon, which is the beer my husband ordered. At 6:30 on a Saturday night? Maybe they could have sent an employee to Ingles for a couple of cases when they started to run out......it's about the customer right? If you love vinegar this is your place to eat! Although the greens in their house salad were fresh, the dressing was strong vinegar tasting, no flavors but pure vinegar. The breads in the basket were fresh and warm. However, the dipping oil again was strong vinegar, barely any olive oil or any flavors, no herbs, garlic, pepper...nothing but strong balsamic vinegar. I had to ask for water refills at least twice even though our server walked by our table several times. Once, our server brought water without asking for a refill! Great! But the water was lukewarm to hot.....not even room temperature, straight up hot! It was as if they had hot water, put ice in it and it melted, making the water warm. Our entrees tasted good, but the server did not bring an extra dish or bowl to put the many small empty clam shells after eating. Lastly, our server asked if we wanted coffee or to see the dessert menu. We replied yes and ordered coffee. She came back with coffee, no creamer and no dessert menus. We prefer to drink the coffee with our dessert. Also, cream would be great. Every time she came to our table, it was as if she was in a hurry and wasn't interested in serving us. We were extremely disappointed with our dining experience here tonight. This was always one of our top 10 restaurants in the high country and in the past brought many friends and family here to dine. Not anymore. Their customer service has gone downhill as well as the food. Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere else.
We were served our entrées one hour after we arrived . The waiter kept saying will be soon, then he said five minutes then he said there’s an issue with the kitchen. The dishes were mediocre. I was very embarrassed. I had recommended this restaurant to my family. Very disappointed.
2nd visit to Casa Rustica and we were very happy with our meals and experience. Great authentic Italian fare; I would highly recommended this place if you are in the area.
Great bday dinner for our son and family. Food choices keep everyone happy. Service was excellent
Graduation for our son. Outstanding service and food as always!! Our favorite place in Boone.
This was a perfect spot for a large group gathering. We had a fun time
we drove two hours just to eat here. best, authentic Italian food I've found.
we eat there anytime we are close.
The place was very busy on this Saturday evening. So glad we used open table for our celebration dinner. Our food was superb, pink pasta purses with rose` sauce and manicotti, all cooked beautifully. Dessert was fabulous, tiramisu, yummy. This is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a special meal.
Food is consistently superior. Service always friendly and professional and helpful if you have questions or need suggestions.
We love this restaurant. It's some of the best Italian food there is! And I'm from Jersey so I know Italian.. it's small and quiet. They tend to have 1-2 weekly specials. It's become our anniversary dinner spot in Boone. Who would think you could get Italian THIS amazing in the mountains of Carolina?! You won't regret going.
Fantastic meal and good service. Nice dining experience. The steak was the most tender I have ever had.And the dessert was so good.Sin on a plate.I will dine there again whenever I am in the area.
We were the last persons to book for Easter Sunday, and I felt the server was ready to get the hell out of there.
I love this restaurant! The food is exemplary and the ambience is mountain casual. The 6 cheese purses and the veal piccata were excellent, but the sauce on the veal Marsala was too sweet this time. Our server was very good.
I booked and indicated both “Birthday” among the special occasion choices as well as in the comments. This was a family dinner celebration for our Mother’s 66th birthday with folks coming in from out of town.
While we were greeted and sat promptly, the table was as you immediately enter the restaurant directly in the path of all guests coming and going. Upon entering, I once again mentioned that this was for our Mother’s Birthday. No response.
We sat, our drink orders were taken by a young male server who seemed nice and attentive.
Then came the local high school prom reservations.
The noise level increased and it took some time to get our drinks and take our appetizer order.
The delivery of our appetizers was handled by another server and they arrived in a fairly normal amount of time and were quite tasty.
Upon finishing the three appetizers, our server had not returned to check on us nor take our main course orders. We flagged him down.
We placed our orders and waited. Our drinks ran out and we had to ask for a customary bread basket.
Upon observation it appeared our server had 2 regular tables in addition to ours with a great deal of attention being paid to a “regular” guest’s table.
Nearly 45 mins later our food arrived one plate at a time by yet a different server.
The plates were dropped off and the third server was no where to be seen. We flagged down yet another server to ask for things like Parmesan, cracked black pepper, drink refills, etc.
Main course: three plates had clearly been left under a heat lamp too long - the white sauces had developed a “skin” on them, all pasta dishes were swimming in sauce (2/3 sauce to 1/3 pasta), and the food was unappealing to look at. Only one dish, thankfully our Mother’s steak looked promising.
As we are, we found the food to be unseasoned, cold and my sister found a hair in hers! We complained and although 2 meals were comp’ed, no apology from the Mgr working. Highly disappointed.
The waiter was very attentive. The food was excellent, served hot, with more than adequate portions.
Casa Rustica is an excellent restaurant as evidenced by how long it has been in business, it’s favor with locals, and the difficulty getting a reservation during the busiest hours on ANY night of the week. The food is delicious, offerings are varied and plentiful, and the service is generally good although it can be a bit hap-hazard at the busiest times. But, in general, it’s a safe bet for a delicious Italian meal at a fair price.
So looking forward to treating friends to this Italien restaurant nestled in No one's Appalachian mountains. Only problem what to order and who will be the designated driver. Go, enjoy, and be thankful that Casa Rustica is there for your culinary delights!
Great staff. Food was phenomenal EXCEPT their Tiramisu is a bit too sweet. Aside from that, it was really good. I heartily recommend them. The layered eggplant and chicken parm were remarkable. It's a great place to satisfy the meat eaters and the vegetarians. The portions are certainly two meal's worth with the salad and an appetizer. I'll go back for sure AND they take reservations; always a plus!
The last time we went we had a negative experience but decided we'd give it one more try. Won't go back any more. Our server tried her darnedest, but our meals were all mixed up and took forever to come out. The quality of the veal was very poor and the sauce was barely any better. The "marsala" sauce was exactly the same thing as the "francese" sauce, although we were assured it was different and correct. It's a cute place with decent prices, but between the service and the food quality, why bother? Such a shame.
Had a great meal. Perfect service.
The food and service was exceptional. However, it was so dark in our booth that no one in our party could see the menus! We had to read them by flashlights. The seating was uncomfortable and old. The french onion soup and seafood pasta dishes with the vodka sauce were incredible.
Casa Rustica was outstanding as always. My wife and I dine there frequently and always enjoy it. The music on Thursday night was excellent
Outstanding service and apps. Good wine list by the glass and a few local beers on tap.
Food was delicious! Generous servings. Service excellent.
Found a long black hair in my pasta. It pretty much ruined the meal.
Great for that special occasion. Pricey. Fireplace is wonderful and the atmosphere is very nice.
Great service, wonderful atmosphere, and always great food!
Alex was our server and was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Food was very tasty.
We have visited Casa Rustica several times, and will continue to do so whenever we are in Boone.
The quality of the food is always great, and the service is excellent.
They serve large portions, a great value for the price.
This was our second visit to the Boone area and Casa Rustica in a year. Both times we were happy with the food and service. Will return on our next visit.
The food was quite good and lives up to our expectations based on dining here for more than 25 years. The ambience is very good considering that tables seem that they are relatively close to each other. The service was very good with an appropriate level of asking if we needed anything else.
