Casa Rustica Restaurant
Excellent food! Large portions! Every year this is a must after Grandfather Mtn Highland Games. Friendly staff.
All four of us enjoyed our meals, the salads dressing were delicious especially the Sweet Basil Cream. Our waitress was new and very professionally she did an excellent job. We will make this a regular visit on our trips to Blowing Rock.
Awesome Italian restaurant to go when in the Boone, NC area!!!
Drinks and ambiance were great. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Once we were seated in the main area everything went downhill. Unfortunately, we never got to eat our food due to the fact we had to wait over an hour after ordering it. Service was horrible! Server gave an attitude right from the start.
food is usually the best. mine was ok this time but my partner said his was very good.
Place was very very busy so I could understand the slow service. I always enjoy going there and will continue to do so and recommend to anyone.
my favorite restaurant in Boone
It was an old fashion Italian dinner that is hard to find these days.
It started with real, fantastic antipasto.
Then the Lasagna with a side of sausage was great. The topper was the best Marinara sauce.
And the prices were very reasonable.
Will definitely be back.
Casa Rustica is always a pleasure at which to dine. If ordering lasagna please note that it is meatless.
My friend had a very bad experience with her veal simbotica(SP). Tough and too much lemon in the sauce. My Caesar salad was by far and away the best I have EVER had in a restaurant. Has dinner the next nigh and tried their salad. No comparison. I told that waitperson to tell their chef to go to Rustica and get a really fine salad!
When in BOONE, it is Rustica for us!
Nice restaurant, selected from reviewers comments. A good value, enjoyed our server... Not the best Italian I've had but certainly better than average.
Best Italian restaurant in the high country, which is no doubt why they have been in business over 35 years. Outstanding value second to none. Very nice ambiance. Music provided on Thursday nights. My wife and I both love this place!!
Mediocre. Cool ambiance, food was so so... service sub par. Would go again if in area but not go out of my way for it.
Must have been on off night. Hit and miss on the pasta - not al dente. Sauces bland and too sweet. Will try again when it is not crazy busy - this being the day after the 4th of July - we thought perhaps the kitchen was just trying to get the food out to the chock full restaurant. The Caprese salad was very good. The Spaghetti Bolognese was also very good. Marianara needs more kick. The rose' sauce was just missing something - uninteresting.
Mediocre food poor service
Well prepared Italian food, but service was once again very slow. 2.5 hour meal without desert or appetizers. Drinks took nearly 45 minutes to be delivered from the bar. The sloowww service diminished an otherwise good meal.
The seafood pasta was excellent and the underlying pasta was cooked perfectly.
The food and service are always great! We definitely recommend and do frequently.
One of our favorites in the High Country- friendly staff, very good to excellent food now that Hunter has returned as chef. Good choice of specials to supplement ample menu. Reasonably priced and ample portions.
Restaurant was very crowded! But our reservation got us a table immediately. Hostess and server very good, general mgr excellent. They were overwhelmed but handled it very well. Only complaint was drinks/bar orders extremely slow. Food not so much. Caprese stack was fabulous! Pasta a la vodka excellent. Lasagna was not up to par with other Italian restaurants. Portions very large and had another meal left. Bread good. Overall a good value but is pretty noisy and side tables are too dark to read the menu. We would return however for the pasta dish and the caprese.
The best restaurant in town . Highly recommend for anyone
Key lime pie was excellent. Pasta was over cooked.
Excellent meal. The Caprese was the best I have ever had. Also loved the Salmon. Very good experience.
We eat here often. Service was uncommonly slow through no fault of the server. Were there kitchen issues?
Salmon special was fine, not spectacular but fine. The kitchen had run out of whole wheat pasta. Now come on! An Italian restaurant running out of pasta? The seafood pasta special came in with no sauce and less than the usual seafood. In addition, It was described as containing crab- we are from MD and know what crab looks like- none in dish. We sent it back- the server reported the kitchen acknowledged no sauce on the pasta but didn’t say anything about the seafood. Not up to your usual standards, and you weren’t even particularly busy. We will come back because even a restaurant can have a bad night, but this was particularly disappointing.
The dining area is just too small! For someone who is handicapped and needs some space, some of the booths are just too little. The small dining area makes the noise level excessively high.
The food was excellent and the service was terrific.
Will have to think about it before going there again.
Always great...and still consistent..our server was super!
Incredibly romantic atmosphere, amazing service, great food, and very reasonable prices! Would recommend to anyone!
Great food, service and good value!
I have dearly loved this restaurant - We all had a BAD meal this last time
Love casa rustica I drive 90 minutes just to eat good Italian food here vodka sauce is great ! Never had a bad experience great servers fairly priced food great experiences every time
I ordered Seafood Alfredo and it was swimming in sauce but Seafood was great! Our server was not friendly and she asked for my daughter’s order first then she went next to her husband. I was always taught to get the ladies order first and that’s the way she served our food. Not impressed and don’t think we will be back. It was my birthday and I had out that on my reservation. Much needed improvements
The food tasted excellent, and the portion sizes were very large. We ordered a rare steak but it did come out as medium rare. However, the steak was still delicious. We felt the wait staff could have been more professional and happier, which would have made our dinner occasion that much more special. However, the assistant manager was very attentive and seemed very happy to be there.
Poor food masked by quantity
fabulous service and tasty specials, always something new!
Not a great bolognese sauce which kinda wraps up an Italian restaurants right of passage. Also went with one of the specials a 6oz piece of halibut with a fruit chutney. Literally $35 for the piece of fish and salad. Given I know halibut is around $20 a pound I understand the cost but the value was super poor. Use to love this place just been down hill for long while now and think I’m done giving it “another try”. On a side note check the price of the specials. I’m not a cheap person by no means but the previous time we went and had three steak specials “no filet or lump crab meat involved” that cost me almost $180 prior to beverages....
Reservations were at 6:30 pm. Server informed us that they ran out of Blue Moon, which is the beer my husband ordered. At 6:30 on a Saturday night? Maybe they could have sent an employee to Ingles for a couple of cases when they started to run out......it's about the customer right? If you love vinegar this is your place to eat! Although the greens in their house salad were fresh, the dressing was strong vinegar tasting, no flavors but pure vinegar. The breads in the basket were fresh and warm. However, the dipping oil again was strong vinegar, barely any olive oil or any flavors, no herbs, garlic, pepper...nothing but strong balsamic vinegar. I had to ask for water refills at least twice even though our server walked by our table several times. Once, our server brought water without asking for a refill! Great! But the water was lukewarm to hot.....not even room temperature, straight up hot! It was as if they had hot water, put ice in it and it melted, making the water warm. Our entrees tasted good, but the server did not bring an extra dish or bowl to put the many small empty clam shells after eating. Lastly, our server asked if we wanted coffee or to see the dessert menu. We replied yes and ordered coffee. She came back with coffee, no creamer and no dessert menus. We prefer to drink the coffee with our dessert. Also, cream would be great. Every time she came to our table, it was as if she was in a hurry and wasn't interested in serving us. We were extremely disappointed with our dining experience here tonight. This was always one of our top 10 restaurants in the high country and in the past brought many friends and family here to dine. Not anymore. Their customer service has gone downhill as well as the food. Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere else.
We were served our entrées one hour after we arrived . The waiter kept saying will be soon, then he said five minutes then he said there’s an issue with the kitchen. The dishes were mediocre. I was very embarrassed. I had recommended this restaurant to my family. Very disappointed.
2nd visit to Casa Rustica and we were very happy with our meals and experience. Great authentic Italian fare; I would highly recommended this place if you are in the area.
Great bday dinner for our son and family. Food choices keep everyone happy. Service was excellent
Graduation for our son. Outstanding service and food as always!! Our favorite place in Boone.
This was a perfect spot for a large group gathering. We had a fun time
we drove two hours just to eat here. best, authentic Italian food I've found.
we eat there anytime we are close.
