Our full service mahogany bar is a popular stop for locals and visitors looking for a nice refreshment and a hearty meal in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. We have three dining rooms, each with a slightly different character afforded by our hand-formed brass hearth fireplace, Western original art collection, famous antique gun collection, and alluring floral arrangements.
Outstanding in every way! Wonderful valet parking, incredible ambiance, delicious and perfectly prepared food, amazing martini’s and wine, superlative waitress (Christina is an all time favorite!)! Perfect time!
On my first visit, this became one of my East Bay "Go To" restaurants. The sweetbreads (rarely offered in restaurants) are to die for... excellently prepared!
The best fried chicken in the area. Tender and juicy.
Casa Orinda never disappoints. The service is always top notch even on Mothers Day when they were slammed. The Fried Chicken is what their famous for but the Pasta dish's and the Prime Rib is excellent.
I go to Casa Orinda for the sweetbreads which are consistently excellent. The sauce is delicious and the serving is ample. The waitstaff are warm and inviting. Casa Orinda is a popular neighborhood restaurant
which is positive and negative. The restaurant is usually filled with patrons and can get very noisy. On this particular visit the noise level was moderate. We had a great dining experience.
It's was great
My DH wanted to go to Casa for his birthday, so I dutifully made a reservation for the Saturday evening before Mother's Day. I did a little research and found a few negative reviews, and it is perfectly human to focus on the negative, so I was wary and did not expect the amazing food and wonderful service that we experienced. Everything was perfect: we had arrived a little early, but didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. Fresh French bread and butter was brought immediately. We ordered the special beet salad with goat cheese and hazelnuts to start, and it was delicious, if a little small. As a result of past salads drowning in dressing, I always recommend ordering the dressing on the side. For my entree, I ordered filet mignon, med.rare/rare, and it was cooked perfectly, if a little cool. The steak came with a perfectly baked potato and chive sour cream, fresh steamed mixed vegetables, and beautiful slices of delicious red tomato and romaine leaves. Having had no previous experience here, we had ordered the extra salad, but the entree plate alone would have been enough. DH ordered the fried chicken, which I tried, and it was delicious, not greasy. He also got steamed vegetables, along with mashed potatoes, gravy, and the best biscuit I've had in a long while, served with honey. The service was very good, and the place was full and a little noisy. We both took food home. All in all, excellent food and a nice place to go!
as always the food is great... love the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and biscuit. really busy saturday early dinnerr.. wait staff was great, very kind and accomodating. the "bus staff" really worked hard and fast.. everyone was so kind.. thank you..
Old steakhouse with charm. If you want a quiet time this place isn't for you.
When making my reservation, I requested a table in a certain room. That request was granted. We arrived at the restaurant early and they were able to seat us within 5 minutes. Our waiter was friendly, efficient, and had a great sense of humor. The food was outstanding. I am never disappointed when dining here.
The food was delicious. The service was great. The Hostess and Waiter made us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere was homey and pleasant. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great, reasonably priced food and service. I can't wait to go again.
Traditional fried chicken entree delicious breast, thigh, wing and drumstick. Fresh vegetable and mashed potatoes sides make a full American dinner.
It is a place where many families come to celebrate events such as birthdays. The food is delicious and the ambiance is warm and inviting. It is my go to place for relaxation and comfort.
Consistent with previous visits. Great meat. Too many fried items as appetizers to allow more frequent visits. Very basic salad. Still really love the place.
Food and service was VERY good, but it is SO noisey!!! Was looking forward to a quiet dinner. I'll come back, but will pick a different place if I need to have a quiet conversation
I went there for my birthday dinner; specifically for their fried chicken and it was fantastic. The crust was light and the meat was support juicy. Everything else (appetizers, desserts) was excellent as well.
Food, service, front desk all - OUTSTANDING! Can't wait to go back.
It's old school done well. Loved the antique guns and moose head over fireplace. Looks like the bar is frequented by local cowboys. Famous fried chicken was just ok, biscuit and sides were great. Chicken was moist and crispy but had no seasoning at all. Prime rib was incredible. Pies for dessert were ok but a lot of soggy crust and very little of the tasty filling.
Are we in Dodge City or what? The all-Western cattle cowboy decor is a blast. The food just what it’s supposed to be: steaks, chicken, Italian, etc. Great bar, service. Been around since the 1920s. May it go on forever. We love it.
Best veal in the area and best fried chicken! Never disappoints.
Wonderful, friendly hostess who checked on us and made great recommendations. The server and bus-gal were also friendly and made our meal enjoyable. Fried chicken dinner was a hit.
Dinner before theatet
We are frequent Casa customers and always have a great meal! It was Mexican Monday which is a newer feature and the fabulous chef prepares the most delicious meals we have ever tasted. Authentic Mole sauce was exquisite and the Capon Avocado is always terrific. Our guests had the ever standard Fried chicken which looked wonderful and large prawns perfectly prepared. We stayed longer than usual and there was no pressure to move us off our wonderful table in the lounge. Service as always was wonderful. Love the Casa!
The Casa is absolutely the best... has been for many decades.
Family adventure to try their famous chicken!
Pulled up to valet - attendant was so polite and helpful opening doors and helping out our almost 90 year old mom. He was so sweet and made a lasting impression on all of us with his kindness!
Walked in and checked in with hostess who we had a few laughs with over our big adventure to try the chicken!
Seated at a half round table which was just right for all 6 of us. Waitress came right over took our drink and apps and asked us if we would like to put in order for dinner. Told her we would wait until apps came. We ordered garlic bread which made all our mouths water on the buttery garlic flavors. We had calamari which had a just a touch spicy tomato sauce. The apps were delicious!
Of course, u know what we ordered for dinner their famous fried chicken! We would all walk a mile for this along with the gravy! The gravy we could eat by the spoonful. The chicken was outstanding! If we could give this 10 stars we would for the valet, hostess, wait person & of course our food!
Thank you for a wonderful experience! We will venture back!
It was a Monday and crowded! Lots of birthdays including my own. Food is anyways good here !
I'm never disappointed here!!!!! The Staff & Food are always top notch. A great place to meet with friends and family for just dinner or a special occasion.
We drive from Sacramento to Casa Orinda solely for dinner. The food is flavorful, fresh, and consistent. The staff is friendly and does their best to provide a high quality experience. Having a meal at Casa Orinda is worth the 90 mile drive.
Casa orinda is an institution. One can expect to get a great meal, and that's why it's been around so long.
The food was great. Our favorites are the fried chicken and the cobb salad. Plus they make a great manhattan.
It was a very busy night but the service was excellent!
We always enjoy dining at the Casa, however we were in on a Sat. evening so it was a bit
crowded & the noise level much more. That said, the food quality was still exceptional, and
ambiance always cozy and inviting. Wait staff running a little behind, but only because it
was so busy, but it was managed well enough. The restaurant is maintained very well, particularly
the bathrooms, and that is so nice! We always look forward to returning to Casa Orinda!
Love this restaurant. The staff are great, the fried chicken can't be beat, and the drinks are the best.
Top notch in every way--wide and attractive menu--service and friendliness unsurpassed--valet parking.
Good chicken parmigiana. Swordfish was meh. Server forgot to bring glass of wine. Fair price for drinks. Food prices... not worth it.
Noise level is equivalent to a gunnery range. Ordinary conversation is impossible so everyone seems to resort to shouting which makes matters exponentially worse. Some sort of sound reduction materials should be installed.
Fried chicken 🍗 best ever
Better that Willie Mays in New Orleans
Great old school bar and restaurant that’s not selling out for fancy chefs, small portions and high prices
Keep up the great job
Casa Orinda serves comfort food in a Western-themed calm atmosphere with excellent service. Biscuits and fried chicken are the best. Great collection of memorabilia.
Always a wonderful evening at Casa Orinda. The food was delicious!
