Our full service mahogany bar is a popular stop for locals and visitors looking for a nice refreshment and a hearty meal in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. We have three dining rooms, each with a slightly different character afforded by our hand-formed brass hearth fireplace, Western original art collection, famous antique gun collection, and alluring floral arrangements.
Casa's Famous Fried Chicken
Mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuit, and honey
Country gravy, mashed potatoes
Glad they are back . It’s an iconic place. All the staff are great and although a large standard menus there are some outstanding item such as Capon Dore
Glad the restaurant is using open table for reservations. Makes it so easy to find a table.
No doubt the best fried chicken dinner in the area.
First time back here in about six years. Came for the fried chicken and loved it. It is 1/2 chicken with thigh, leg, wing and breast. Sides are mashed potato and gravy with vegetables and biscuit with honey. Ate about half and rest for next nite's dinner. Noise from bar can be a distraction. I had forgotten about the western art and relished it again.
This is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. It is a classic style restaurant with traditional food, long term employees and a Western atmosphere. Pretend you are a regular and they will treat you better. Request the front room by the fireplace for best seating.
The food was excellent as usual. There were only four of us who hadn't seen each 0ther since before the pandemic and were excited to visit again. The noise level was so high that we couldn't hear each other right across the table.
This has always been a very special place for many reasons. I would have to think twice before we go again unless some changes are made.
The best chicken ever!! Jumbo prawns a must!
We have been going to Casa Orinda for many many years and the food, service, and the atmosphere almost seam to get better and better. We would recommend to friends and others to try them!!
Love this place!! Never have a bad meal! Always amazing:)
very busy, noisy even on an early Wednesday evening. Shortage of servers as is now a problem. Food meets its reputation. Host very good.
best to go at an earlier time as lunch I think
Great service, great food and excellent cosmo!! Never disappoints!
Food always good. Prices increased since pandemic. Noise so disconcerting, it was difficult enjoying the meal.
Casa Orinda offered a great dining experience as we ventured out after a year of eating at home. The tables are still well-spaced; some waiters wear masks and others do not. The food was delicious, hearty, and served in portions that lasted through a second meal. Prices are a little high, but it's worth it if you take home leftovers. Our neighboring table, even 6+ feet away was noisy, but otherwise the restaurant was comfortably quiet and very relaxed.
Delicious chicken dinner. Generous servings. Clean cosy place. Great servers, very attentive. Love it!
We love this restaurant. We usually get the fried chicken which is excellent but we tried the prime rib this time and it was awesome.
Excellent as always!
Always a delicious meal here. Special tonight was filet of sole almondine. It was a ten out of ten!
We were there for a Birthday Celebration. Due to Covid-19 seating, we were placed in a room with a low ceiling and poor installation which caused for a very noisy atmosphere.
Our server, Al, was outstanding; polite and professional.
Our meals were excellently prepared and served at the proper temperature, and in a reasonable time from ordering.
The valet service is a very nice touch.
Local favorite. I ordered garlic bread (not listed on the menu), glass champagne for my wife, and gin martini for myself. I ordered Casa's Famous Fried Chicken with a glass of Judd's Hill Petit Syrah, and my wife had the Rack of Lamb special with Zaca Mesa Syrah. After a shared Hot Fudge Sundae and two coffees, we got out for around $180, including tip.
Food and service were terrific.
Very loud- I was in one of the back rooms and felt like I really needed to raise my voice to be heard by my friend who was sitting right next to me. The chicken is a perennial favorite and never fails to make me happy.
This was a disappointment after many years of good quality, taste and service. The waiter was just ok, the food was just ok and the value was not good compared to many prior visits. We will give this another try once the place is fully open and has a stable staff.
I usually avoid restaurants on Mother’s Day or holidays as service and food typically are compromised by influx of crowds. That was not the case at Casa Orinda. The execution from the staff and food was seamless and I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience on my special day.
Wonderful. Chicken wings. Burger. Fried chicken, all great. Good pour on cocktails.
Hi, Casa Orinda always provides excellent food and a warm atmosphere. I usually get the fried chicken which has an amazing crust, and is just like mom used to make. And the portions are huge.
This time I had the steak sandwich which was a bit disappointing. The cut of beef was fatty and not a great quality of cut.
Next time I'm going back to the fried chicken!
Just one other observation. Families with small children should probably be seated in one room away from others if possible. We sat next to a family with 3 or 4 small children who cried during most of our dinner. I know that's tough to do especially on Mothers Day weekend, but it made our dinner a bit challenging.
Everything and everyone was spot on. The cocktails and food and service were excellent!
I HAVE BEEN COMING TO THECASA SINCE 5 YEARS OLD, 1944, STILLCOMING AND STILL A SPECIAL EXPERIENCE WITH TONS OF HISTORY.
Fell in love with this place. Superb lamb chops & outSTANDING fried chicken. Strong pour on the drinks. Great waiter. Interesting people-watching in main room. Homey decor/atmosphere. Will return!
Our waiter was superb! Fried chicken is a must have and the cocktails were perfect!
So good to be able to eat inside at Casa Orinda!! We were able to finally get a table in the fireplace room !! Ordered fried chicken and some great martinis!!
What a treat to dine once again at this historic spot. Prime rib with baked potato and vegetables accompanied by a beet salad or minestrone soup was as good as always. Great western bar and fireplace warmth create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Tables were appropriately distanced to health standards and all staff are masked.
Old school cowboy style interior and menu. A tradition for my western horseback riding spouse and me.
So good to have Casa Orinda open again for dine in! This Orinda landmark is perfect for a family get together or a date. The food is always excellent. I've tried a number of items on the menu, but my favorite is their fried chicken dinner. Always done to perfection!
The hosts and staff are so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Casa Orinda!
Casa is ALWAYS the best! Will always be at the top of our list!
It seemed darker than usual. We had a difficult time seeing what was on our plates
I didn't care of our server for he wasn't that friendly. I noticed him chatting it up with other guests but not with us. I don't expect a server to be our best friend but I just noticed a bit more friendliness towards other guets.
Great fried chicken and on the weekends great prime rib! Fried prawns are excellent too.
Lovely neighborhood feel, great food and service. Old school at its best.
