Just a fabulous meal, the pastas were especially outstanding. Really, one of the absolutely best Italian restaurants, not only in manhattan, but in the US! Antonio’s team always provides prompt, courteous and proper service.
Delicious but pricey fixe and almost every dish had surcharge so good though great coffee but not even 1 little piece of chocolate or cookies?
We were treated very well. The atmosphere was comfortable and the food excellent. We do recommend it.
Casa Lever is an exceptional room -- modern decor with Andy Warhol prints lining the walls. In addition to the main dining room with tables and romantic booths, there is a private room that can fit up to 20 at a big communal table. The Italian food is very good but pricey but they offer a $42 3-course prix fixe on Friday and Saturday nights. A bargain!
This was my second time at the restaurant for the prix fixe -- the first time during restaurant week. I had the eggplant parmigiana appetizer and the skirt steak with red wine sauce served over polenta. I enjoyed it so much I returned for a friend's birthday celebration and ordered the same meal again. Unfortunately, the eggplant was served cold and the skirt steak was bits of meat you would have been embarrassed to serve a dog, served on what appeared to be dried day-old white bread. Nothing like the exceptional meal I had had during restaurant week. My dining partner had the Casa Lever salad -- quite abundant -- and the pasta bolognese, which he enjoyed very much.
Divine as always. Casa Lever never disappoints. It is my go to place for understated perfection. Bravi!!
Casa Lever is just very cool. The Warhols, the furniture, the little tunnel that brings you to the dining room, the room, the chandeliers, the suit of the maitre d, the eggplant appetizer, the little "Grazie" card at the end. Very sophisticated! Loved it
My server was MIA the entire time, never around to fill coffee or take our order or give us the check.
Absolutely amazing as always. Been coming here for 20 years.
The service was spectacular and the booths make you feel very special.
Still a very solid place for real Italian food. Prices are a little steep.
Enjoyed a late lunch at Casa Lever. Food was exceptional. The lunch special (2 courses) provides good options but several entrees had additional costs. Why not have a smaller menu with a prix fixe and then ala carte for the others? Also, we were not informed that the specials mentioned by the server were NOT included in the lunch prix fixe so when we were surprised by the cost of the bill.
It is a beautiful restaurant and well worth a visit!
Great service and food! Attention to detail.
Great room and energy, and the food almost measures up to the room. My wine by the glass was served too warm.
Excellent, but extremely expensive. A bottle of wine was priced almost double marks than the same wine at another top restaurant. Wine list is very limited under $200+ per bottle
Great food overall
Outstanding service, ambiance, and good! Excellent fish and pasta selections, in particular. Such a lovely evening!
Great, genuine Italian food. Great but expensive wine list.
Outsatansing food, wine, service, decor and vibe.
Food, service, ambiance was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant/experience.
Beautiful venue. Beautiful service. Great food. Great environment. Thank you Casa Lever. (suggestion: please don't advertise Restaurant Week if you don't offer during Lunch)
Excellent wine list, especially italian selection. Menu has indeed some truly authentic italian recipes at a very refined level, above all the ossobuco w risotto. Portions are the right size, nice friendly staff never above the lines.
Went during the NYC restaurant week, excellent service, very attentive and professional. The pasta is just perfect, beef steak is tender, and the best of all the tiramisu is the best ever, enough bitterness and not too sweet. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
Our meal , service and
We were celebrating our anniversary with friends during Restaurant Week. The menu was interesting and the portions generous. We sat in one of the side booths and it was very pleasant. Although I must say that $7.50 for a small pot of tea is a bit outrageous.
The food and service and all great and we got a beautiful dessert for our anniversary! Highly recommend!
Service & food were incredible. I loved the Warhols! So gracious to me on my birthday.
Enjoyed dinner for Restaurant week; fabulous menu. The service was excellent; attentive but not hovering. The ambiance very modern with a din of a buzz but able to hold a conversation
The food was wonderful -- we ate here during Restaurant Week for $42 3 course dinner -- a great bargain. The skirt steak had the finest red wine reduction I have ever had, the prosciutto and buffalo Mozzarella was plentiful and delicious and dessert tiramisu and gelato (4 scoops mixed) great! The restaurant offers a 3 course prix-fixe supper every Friday and Saturday night -- even after Restaurant Week ends!
I chose 'birthday' as an occasion. Surprisingly they brought us a mini chocolate brownie! all staff were so sweet and polite and the food itself was great enough. this place is above and beyond. highly recommend! also amazing menu seletion for nyc restaurant week. 5 stars are not enough for this outstanding place!
The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was varied with great selections. We will return and I will strongly recommend.
Tried Restaurant Week menu. Portions were normal size and delicious. The prosciutto from San Daniele in northern Italy was the best
The food was not memorable
Very disappointed in the food preparation, though the ambiance is lovely. The appetizers were uninspired, just a bit too much of slightly dry prosciutto and mozzarella on a plate and not especially tasty beef ragu on pappardelle. The cacciao and pepe, however, was very good.
Food an service was outstanding!!! The service was the best I have ever encountered.
We went with two friends and the service was amazing. They let us sit before one of them arrived and were super attentive. The food was delicious and the dessert was amazing! Great experience.
I dined with friends during Restaurant Week. I had selected Casa Lever as our destination after looking at their Restaurant Week menu on their website. Unlike many restaurants that offer small menus with few choices, Casa Lever's menu had many delicious sounding offerings. One friend had eaten there in the past and remembered her dinner fondly. We started out with two orders of the Ricciola (delicious hamachi crude) and one order of the Casa Lever salad, which also was enjoyed. My friends ordered the Genovese (pappardelle with beef short ribs), which they both enjoyed. My small taste concurred that it was delicious. I ordered the skirt steak which was wonderful! Tender beef accompanied by red corn polenta (which I had never had before), which was delicious - crispy on the outside) and a chianti sauce. Yum! We then shared the three different desserts offered: Tiramisu, which I always love, especially when it is as cloud like as it was at Casa Lever, Giandiua, which was beautiful and yummy - although a bit too sweet for my taste preferences, and a selection of 3 gelati and one sorbet (coffee, hazelnut, pistachio and strawberry), which were all delicious. Two of us ordered wine by the glass and our other friend drank dry and beautiful vodka martinis. We were all delighted with how delicious the dinner was and thankful for the wonderful service.
Excellet on all levels. I eat meat approx once a year. This will will by venue for the skirt steak phenomena!
Outstanding service and food. More expenses than other places but worth every penny
Thought was very noisy. Food was excellent but very expensive for what we ordered, even by NY standards.
