Casa Lever has become our new favorite restaurant this summer. The quality of the food is consistently high! We especially like the buffalo mozzarella, urchin linguine and the new York strip for 2. All of the pastas have been fresh and tasty. The only warning is the markup on the wine - choose carefully. The service is fantastic.
The cramped and noisy scene takes away from the quality of the cuisine--although there's room for improvement there too. the fish starters are hashed into obscurity within other ingredients. The pastas were tasty and the staff was very responsive and energetic. the decor could use a rethink. The Warhol-inspired art seems like an afterthought, albeit a fun one, but the cool architecture is a forgotten stepsister to that pop gesture.
The wait staff have to contort over one another to get to the tables like they're in a laser tunnel. I felt bad for them and their 90's uniforms that were strangling all of them.
Always a nice to place to visit with great food and friendly people.
I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. I have been several times for breakfast, morning coffee and lunch. The food is excellent as is the service.
Calamari, Veal Milanase, and Citarra pomodoro all fantastic
Everything great. I definitely will come again. Upscale Italian reataurant
This is a true perfection dining experience and a beautiful resturant.
A consistent performer - a NY classic - terrific food and service.
Very good food. The pasta was superb, the brussels sprouts were one of the best i have had in New York.
Fish expertly prepared and very tasty.
Superb sommelier, Carrie. Knows wine, knows the list, great and appropriate recommendations.
Not our first visit, confirmed again that Casa Lever is a pleasant experience!
We were there for a special occasion. Our server Cesko was excellent and the manager Antonio was very personable and attentive, as was the sommelier.
We had a party of 6 and each one of our dishes from appetizers to desserts were delicious and beautifully presented.
Looking forward to going back.
The one element of our business lunch we felt lowered the experience was the server who was ly dismissive in the beginning but warmed up and much nicer towards the end. We think all customers should be treated equally from the very start and warmly welcomed--not based on the spend as the meal progresses.
Great food and atmosphere
Service was good
Not being familiar with Casa Lever, lunch was a very pleasant surprise. From where I sat at a four-top at the very front of the restaurant, I had an unobstructed view of the attractive bar area. Although the restaurant was busy, the noise level was discreet.
Parmigiana di Melanzane was rich, flavorful and filling.
The seven grain bread served before and during the meal was excellent.
The Baccala with olives, capers, pine nuts and olive oil was the best execution of that dish that I can remember.
Crudo “Ricciola” was fresh and attractively plated.
The Steak was tender and served with a delicious sauce.
My compliments on the tiramisu, my favorite desert. Your interpretation was superb and beautifully served in white porcelain.
I will certainly recommend Casa Lever and look forward to future visits.
The meal was sumptuous and mock-Bellini was coutured to order- a peachy spritzer, without the overindulging sugar- just perfect.
Here's the Fluke Appetizer
Very fresh raw fish flavor on skin is crisp orange & fresh flavor loaded cherry tomato with sprigs of dill & lemon-mandarin slices. The entire dish was filled with the white tasty Fluke. The beetroot salad also looked delicious.
Main course of Flounder is light and gets gentle hint of flavor from broiled baby tomato accompaniment.
Dessert of gelato (Hazelnut&Pistachio) was rich & creamy nuts, for me, but the chocolate cake with mouse looks soooooo good. As does their rich Tiramisu, which the two ladies beside me were having.
The food, the service, the decor were all excellent. The wine pairing with the meal was outstanding. The whole dining experience was memorable.
Great food. Excellent service.
We had a great table booth as we had asked for a quiet table
It was a nice crowd and the food was really good
Nice welcome from the maître D
Our waiter was good but he insisted a bit too much about offering another drink or other extras.
Weird vibe - music at outdoor happy hour very loud and off-putting. Tables too close together inside resulted in awkward encounters. Food & service excellent although very pricey. There are so many outstanding Italian restaurants in NYC that it’s unlikely I will return to this one.
Great wine list and sommelier. Among NYC's most beautiful restaurants as well - striking decor. Unfortunately the food was very mediocre and not good enough to return. I did think they offered one of the most diverse NYC Restaurant Week menus available. But the heirloom beet salad was too full of cheese and not "summer light" as desired. The skate main course was quite good. But, the skirt steak was awful.
We were seated at a lovely booth with excellent service. Maitre D’ could not have been better or more responsive. Food was excellent as was the wine— Restaurant Week menu terrific but they have a similar weekend supper
Great food and service, very cool decor with lots of original Andy Warhol paintings. Loved it!
Always delicious. We chose to have lunch in their outdoor space which was delightful. For the first time though the service lagged. Our waiter was asked for fresh pepper for the salad but never brought it. We had the price fix lunch and ordered things that added dollars to the cost, but was never offered bread. We had to ask. Little things but after spending over $209 for 2 people at lunch - would have expected better.
Excellent food, service and wine. Will definitely put it on my list of regular restaurants.
Cool outdoor setting. Confused service. Ok food. High prices for the quality. Average.
Really beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Definitely a business crowd/special occasion type of place, but worth the trip!
Went with my mom for restaurant week, and we were not disappointed! Both of us thought all 3 courses were divine. They took a very long time to get us our drinks and bread (the drinks came after the appetizers, after we had to ask). Otherwise, everything was spot on.
Keep up the good work in terms of overall dining experience!
Great food, service. Really good for lunch or dinner. Beautiful paintings collection
Had a wonderful dinner this past Sunday. The pre-fix supper with wine pairing is a real bargain
Great place, very good ubication, nice people, The Service is good, etc.
Great for friends get together. Food taste good with good volume.
Food and service are great, design is outstanding!
Have had nice meals here a number of times. Restaurant Week menu was above average. A fluke crudo, a generous portion of sparklingly fresh fish. Flounder entree was a lovely plate. Gelato dessert outstanding. Wine pairing decent enough, though choice of wine to accompany flounder baffling: a not especially well made wine jarring with the flounder . Both dessert wines underwhelming, but Giacosa Arneis splendid. The wine list is very fine, though prices are in the words of an OT euphemism: energetic. CL has always been packed when I've been, deservedly . The noise level is ear-shattering, making conversation all but impossible.
Lovely classic Italian in a fun, pretty restaurant. Outside area is hopping!
Pretty, elegant ambiance with attentive service and creative, tasty food. The Warhol artwork is a treat.
Definitely one of the best place worth every penny.
No need to add anything else.
Amazing food. Warm, genuine sophisticated service.
Traditional NYC hot spot, nice ambience and good food. Service is always good too, but the announcement of specials by waiters are very annoying. Usually restaurants are noisy place, which makes difficult to understand, second they start their speech non stop and you get confused what has in where. My suggestion is to tell briefly what are the suggestions or only says if clients asking.
