The food was amazing. The ambiance was great. It was Valentine's day so there was a prefixed menu. We will definitely be going back when we have access to the entire menu. Oh, did I say the food was AMAZING!!!
I want to like this place so bad but my experience was terrible. Dessert was served before dinner, we were completely neglected by the waiter and every other person on the floor. We had to stand up and walk to the bottle of wine we purchased to pour ourselves more. Service is better at TGIFriday’s
Great drink! Amazing performance. Very cool west village spot
Overall excellent place to try egyptian food however the portions are too small for the price
I have been to this place twice, first time with just my husband on a friday and second time with my whole family including my parents on a Saturday. My first time experience was a 5 star one but the second time experience was not that great. The overall food quality was better when i went there first time. Second time it wasnt that great, maybe because it was a lot more crowded. The belly dancing entertainment was a lot more fun, interactive and longer during my first visit compared to second. Portions are small. Overall one can check this place out once for the experience.
Our server was the sweetest person and really tried to make the experience memorable. However, the way management wanted payment for a large group and confused/finagled us into a pre-fix menu was really odd and confusing. It just made the night interesting. Our drinks were served in small batches so it took forever for us to make a toast. The food was also served in odd batches so again half the table was waiting while the other let their plates get cold.
The saving grace was our waiter who was kind, funny and did her best to make our experience the best it could be.
It was nice no more then tbat! The place looks kind of empty of Thursdays nights. The food is horrible. We order coscous that was suppose to be “home made” - no way it was home made. The soup was not tasty at all.
Too loud at the time we were there. Lamb chops were tough while when usually delivered were better. Grilled chicken is still the best. I always order food to be delivered; going to the restaurant was a disappointment: they delayed our order for so long, brought items that were not up to the expected standards, and some plates were poorly served. The server, though, was attentive and caring. And the manager tried his best to compensate for the negative experience by giving us a 20% discount. I know I’m not going to go there again, but I will still order for delivery the best halal grilled chicken in NYC.
Loved this place! The lambchops were cooked to perfection and the service was attentive and efficient. 10/10 recommend.
Wonderful and fun night
Never have I had to be at a restaurant for more than 3 and a half hours. The food portion is tiny and not even that great in all honesty. Is it worth the price I had to pay? No, I could pay less elsewhere for great tasting food and more authentic. Don’t get me started on the service, our waiter was very sweet and informing but for ever time we asked for something, it would come an hour later. We waited for our food for almost an hour and a half, our dessert for an hour and check for almost 30 mins. We came here thinking it would be great and quick for a birthday celebration to continue our night elsewhere but that time was kind of gone in the wind. Such a waste of time and money, completely not worth it, go to Astoria for better Egyptian food and ambience not here.
One of the best restaurant that I truly enjoy. Food is always fresh and delicious. I had the Branzino fish (Branzini) and requested for it to be filet. It was simply exquisite. I just wish it came with a side of couscous like the salmon. The ambiance is always fun and vibrant. The belly dancer was amazing as well.
Awesome music and belly dancer!
We really enjoyed our meal at Casa La Femme, except for the extremely loud music....I asked a few times for them to turn down the volume a bit, but that never happened. That would be my only real criticism, but it made it difficult to talk with my dinner companion. The service was excellent, by the way.
Amir was great as was the rest of the staff. We had a large group and they did their best to give us personalized attention. Great atmosphere.
It was an awesome experience! The staff was super friendly and the food was great. Moreover, it was a great environment with a good selection of music and a bellydancer who went from table to table.
10/10 would definately reccomend
My boyfriend and I dined here a few days ago because it was across the street from a play we were going to see. In short, the ambiance is lovely and dramatic, but it's not much bang for your buck. $8 gets you a little bowl of hummus and 3 pieces of freshly toasted pita bread. It was delicious. But $8?
I had the mousaka and it was a bowl of bland vegetables with even blander cheese on top. It was solidly mediocre. My boyfriend, however, got the chicken and devoured it. So maybe opt for the meat dishes instead of the vegetarian ones.
Great meal and great time
People who Reserved should always comes first even if it’s having a drink from the bar but No for some reason We were told the quickest way to get alcohol is to buy wine for 50 bucks because the bar was way too packed with walk ins. So we did Buy WINE 8x and more and the appetizer still never came out until hours later . Then the food took another 1 hour and a half to come out that the rice was warm going close to cold if you didn’t eat it pretty fast. Therefore the bill was pretty big but that’s what we came for a good time for the birthday girl but the service was pretty horrible. I wouldn’t book another party here!
Incredibly slow service. I guess they were timing for the dancers but never communicated that. Over chargee us for an extra bottle of wine and serving of tea. Tried to call and fix it but they never rang back. Overall disappointing given the price
Visited CLF on Saturday evening with friends of ours. All aspects of our visit were memorable. The food, music, Belly Dancer and slow paced tasty meal were all 100% perfect.
Thanks for a great night.
Highly recommend
The ambience and the service was great. We went for my birthday. The belly dancing added a perfect touch to the night. The place had a lot of people but our table under the tent gave us perfect space to talk and mingle.
Music was too loud
Went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't crowded at all. Was seated immediately, which was great and the ambiance was lovely. Took a little while for us to get our order started, but she was the only server on staff for the night.
The decor is amazing. perfect for a romantic date. We had a canopy, so we were very comfy and it sets a lovely mood for a couple.
The server explained the menu, how it works, and was quite informative about the menu. The only down side was that some of the things we ordered ran out according to the chef, so I ended up having to switch my dinner choice. Additionally, the quality of food wasn't to my expectation, but that could have been related to my original choice no longer being available to me.
Great ambiance, good service, but the food could have been better.
I would recommend this place to a friend as overall it was pleasant.
Good food, great service, beautiful belly dancer and exceptional hookah, what more could you want on a Saturday night?!
The atmosphere transcends you to a different culture. Very inviting and great food and drinks. Hospitality was wonderful.
The food and ambiance is great . The only thing that annoyed me is that the waiter insisted and almost forced us to get the pre fix menu instead of the a la carte. I think customers should not feel pressured to get one or the other ..
love the food, decor and entertainment there ...
Great experience. The food and service were great. The belly dancer was amazing - very classy; and very talented.
I BOOKED CASA LA FEMME BECAUSE A FRIEND RECOMMENDED IT AND THERE WAS AN OFFER ON GILT. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS GREAT. THE SERVICE WAS EVEN BETTER. FROM THE OWNER GREETING YOU WARMLY AND THE ATTENTIVENESS OF THE STAFF. IF YOU LIKE TO BE CATERED TO DEF TRY THE BRANZINO. THE PRESENTATION WAS AMAZING AND THE TASTE WAS GREAT AS WELL. DEF WORTH THE VISIT. I WILL BE BACK.
Aside for being filthy and having poorly prepared food (think mushy, overcooked pasta, etc), the staff is incredibly pushy. Despite saying I’m not drinking due to a diet, the server came by 4 times to ask what kind of drink I wanted to try. She then only provided the price fixed menu and insisted that we order from it because “it’s the real experience.” For the fifth time, I reminded her I was on a diet and asked for the regular menu that they have on display on the street. To our shock, when we added up the prices on the regular menu, which was the same menu but with prices for each item, the cost was dramatically lower than if we got all the same food that was listed for $60 on the set menu. It was clearly a game they were playing and we now understood why she was so pushy about it. The bottom line is avoid this place.
Love the the decor and the host was great and also the belly dancer was excellent . We went on a Monday so it was kinda of quite . But love the place and the food was Tasty.
Another wonderful dinner at Casa la Femme! The service was fantastic, the food divine, the cocktails especially delicious since hiring a new bartender Sarah who came over and personally introduced herself to us. Our waitress was wonderful as well. It's truly one of the most special restaurants in the city, great for any special occasion. Thanks Casa La Femme!
Still a transportive experience! The food and service are superb. Who doesn’t want to eat in a romantic billowy tent in the summer?
The atmosphere was great, they have great cocktails, desserts and coffee. The food is a pre-fix menu which is great for larger groups. The belly dancer was entertaining and nice. The service was slow.
Fantastic place. Great atmosphere. Great service and welcoming team! We will back for sure!
We enjoyed our evening tremendously. Funny that some other reviewers gave poor ratings for service because our experience was excellent. Sara and Mustafa provided first class, efficient and friendly service. Great cocktails too.
Excellent food. Very nice ambience. Service started out great and then got slow. Belly dancer was a nice addition to the experience, but I was surprised to see her trying to get tips in a nice dining environment like Casa La Femme's. Also thought it was a bit tacky that she was giving out her business card and trying to get new business for her classes. Again, only find that odd because it's an upscale restaurant. A really wonderful experience overall.
I organized ladies night for my coworkers and selected Casa la Femme. It's a great restaurant because it's cozy and has a very nice ambience. The food was delicious and the menu is diverse. My favorite part of the evening was the live entertainment. The belly dancer danced around the entire restaurant and was engaging.
Don't waste your time here. It was a rainy night on a Thursday. The place was empty except for 2 other tables. But they wouldn't seat us until the whole party was there. That was fine. It when everyone was there. We waited 15 minutes to be attended to even if there were no other customers waiting. When we were finally seated, it took at least another 15 minutes for us to find a server to give us the menu. Again, there were no other customers except for the 2 other tables. Yet the service was so slow. For the price you're paying, you would expect a more attentive service. When we finally got someone to give us the menu, the waiter told us our table was only for the prix fixe. We said we weren't informed in advance and we never reserved for the prix fixe. He said he'll ask the manager. At this point it was really getting to be annoying. We agreed that if they made us move to a different table despite the place being empty, we would rather move to a different restaurant. So the waiter came back and told us we could stay but gave us this long talk that normally this table was for prix fixe, etc. I told if he was going to take our orders or not because at that point we've already been at the restaurant for over 40 minutes without even a drink or having ordered. The food was just okay for the price. The service is the worst. There are better restaurants with the same theme offering belly dancing and hookah in NYC. Maybe when this place started, they offered a better dining experience. But ours was not that way. And we were disappointed because we just came out from our last final exams in law school and wanted to relax and celebrate but had to experience stress at this restaurant.
