Aside for being filthy and having poorly prepared food (think mushy, overcooked pasta, etc), the staff is incredibly pushy. Despite saying I’m not drinking due to a diet, the server came by 4 times to ask what kind of drink I wanted to try. She then only provided the price fixed menu and insisted that we order from it because “it’s the real experience.” For the fifth time, I reminded her I was on a diet and asked for the regular menu that they have on display on the street. To our shock, when we added up the prices on the regular menu, which was the same menu but with prices for each item, the cost was dramatically lower than if we got all the same food that was listed for $60 on the set menu. It was clearly a game they were playing and we now understood why she was so pushy about it. The bottom line is avoid this place.
Love the the decor and the host was great and also the belly dancer was excellent . We went on a Monday so it was kinda of quite . But love the place and the food was Tasty.
Another wonderful dinner at Casa la Femme! The service was fantastic, the food divine, the cocktails especially delicious since hiring a new bartender Sarah who came over and personally introduced herself to us. Our waitress was wonderful as well. It's truly one of the most special restaurants in the city, great for any special occasion. Thanks Casa La Femme!
Still a transportive experience! The food and service are superb. Who doesn’t want to eat in a romantic billowy tent in the summer?
The atmosphere was great, they have great cocktails, desserts and coffee. The food is a pre-fix menu which is great for larger groups. The belly dancer was entertaining and nice. The service was slow.
Fantastic place. Great atmosphere. Great service and welcoming team! We will back for sure!
We enjoyed our evening tremendously. Funny that some other reviewers gave poor ratings for service because our experience was excellent. Sara and Mustafa provided first class, efficient and friendly service. Great cocktails too.
Excellent food. Very nice ambience. Service started out great and then got slow. Belly dancer was a nice addition to the experience, but I was surprised to see her trying to get tips in a nice dining environment like Casa La Femme's. Also thought it was a bit tacky that she was giving out her business card and trying to get new business for her classes. Again, only find that odd because it's an upscale restaurant. A really wonderful experience overall.
I organized ladies night for my coworkers and selected Casa la Femme. It's a great restaurant because it's cozy and has a very nice ambience. The food was delicious and the menu is diverse. My favorite part of the evening was the live entertainment. The belly dancer danced around the entire restaurant and was engaging.
Don't waste your time here. It was a rainy night on a Thursday. The place was empty except for 2 other tables. But they wouldn't seat us until the whole party was there. That was fine. It when everyone was there. We waited 15 minutes to be attended to even if there were no other customers waiting. When we were finally seated, it took at least another 15 minutes for us to find a server to give us the menu. Again, there were no other customers except for the 2 other tables. Yet the service was so slow. For the price you're paying, you would expect a more attentive service. When we finally got someone to give us the menu, the waiter told us our table was only for the prix fixe. We said we weren't informed in advance and we never reserved for the prix fixe. He said he'll ask the manager. At this point it was really getting to be annoying. We agreed that if they made us move to a different table despite the place being empty, we would rather move to a different restaurant. So the waiter came back and told us we could stay but gave us this long talk that normally this table was for prix fixe, etc. I told if he was going to take our orders or not because at that point we've already been at the restaurant for over 40 minutes without even a drink or having ordered. The food was just okay for the price. The service is the worst. There are better restaurants with the same theme offering belly dancing and hookah in NYC. Maybe when this place started, they offered a better dining experience. But ours was not that way. And we were disappointed because we just came out from our last final exams in law school and wanted to relax and celebrate but had to experience stress at this restaurant.
This place is great, food is good and the drinks are good. They have their own upscale tequila which is great. I highly recommend them.
Food was fantastic but I was unhappy with the service.
Unlike most NYC venues, this upscale Egyptian restaurant doesn't cut corners on interior design or the kitchen. Two spacey rooms with authentic decorations and large tables makes one feel no longer in New York City. The food is nothing to scoff at, either. I find myself mixing a variety of dips and appetizers with the impressive bar cocktails and surprisingly decent tabletop hookah.
It could have been better. Belly dancers were unable to dance due to lack of space.
The waitstaff was rude and slow. Dinner took over 2 and a half hours and that had nothing to do with us. We waited for everything. When we asked for things, we were told things would take long because they were busy. They told us to order wine not cocktails because cocktails would take too long. They didn’t refill water glasses. They didn’t clear dirty plates. We had to flag down people to get the check and pay it. They added cocktails to our bill (which we didn’t order because we were told to order wine). It was a ridiculous experience. Had we not been there with our parents, I would have walked out after the first course.
We had a great time, staff was very friendly and attentive. Food and wine was delicious.
Had a great dining experience with a big group. The staff is great and the belly dancers are on point!
The bread is fresh and the hummus is fantastic. The grilled octopus is a delicious add on and you can’t go wrong with the lamb chops as your main dish!
Dining at the Casa Le femme was a unique experience..when we walked in we were lost because there was no host to take our reservation, however after asking around we were attended to by a very nice gentlemen,My husband and I were not familiar with the food, so we chose the Grilled Salmon and Couscous which was not over seasoned and very light on the palette the the pita with the three choices of dips was very delicious overall the ambiance and setting was very romantic however I would have enjoyed the seating area with the tent more if the curtains could have come down I wanted to be more secluded,If I could suggest something I would say the music should have more variety as the dj played indian music all night, and maybe the menu or waitress should suggest signature dishes or dishes that are very popular,I don't eat meat so I appreciated the variety of foods for vegans ...the belly dancer was also amazing ...I was celebrating my birthday and I left with a great feeling ....if the Casa le femme is open to more suggestions this place could get five stars without a question!!!!
Our server was wonderful, the food was great and I love the belly dancer!
I was here for a birthday party I specifically asked for the desert cake to come out with the belly dancer, the Manager and I discussed this in detail and he yes me for confirmation. Well, that never happened. For dinner at a prefixed menu, they only brought out two servings of hummus and babaganoush with pita. There were 7 people. I have the pictures of proof. Also my fish was to be deboned and filleted and there were so many bones in my fish I could have choked. I am so disappointed in the service. Our bill was over $700. I was furious. Management did not handle this well at all.
Staff was great! Food was phenomenal! Dessert was exceptional with the best Turkish coffee I've ever had!
A great place to take a date and experience something different and enjoyable. Maybe the food/drinks/hookah is or is not for you but at least you will have a great time trying it out. You will have fun for sure.
All was well but when you make a reservation and ask for a tent, beware the tent reservation only comes with a pre fix menu.
food was great, the ambiance gets very LOUD when the live dancing show starts. HIGHLY recommend ordering food at least 30 minutes prior to show time. Service was OK. took long to get our table even though we had a reservation, drinks took a long time to come out. But food was very tasty. and decorations are nice.
With a large party of 12 I had planned on ordering a bunch of Meza’s and apps for the table... even prepared with a printed spreadsheet. The waitress was not having it. She aggressively proceeded to argue with me in front of my party attempting to tell us that we all needed to do the prefixe menu option. This went on for about a half hour while she went back and fourth from the table taking her sweet time to deliver drinks and even water. Flash forward through a perfectly proportioned array of small plates dinner (*spreadsheet)... the belly dancers were a nice touch. But when the bill came - I gave my card and signed. She came back to collect the receipt while we were all still present (major pet peeve of mine; it’s tacky) and asked if “this was the correct amount” because she wasn’t pleased with the tip I had left on top of the added gratuity. The restaurant was half empty on a Friday night and being the largest table I would have appreciated a little more respect and appreciation for our business.
Cute atmosphere - horrible customer service - decent food - obnoxiously over priced... save yourself the hassle and don’t waste your time at this establishment. Especially if you plan on having a group dinner.
We went for the entertainment and left stunned by how fabulous our dinner was. Service was gracious. Truly an outstanding and unique evening. Can't say enough nice things....
This is my second time at Casa La Femme and it was even better then last. All and all just excellent
Was ok the octopus was excellent
This restaurant was an exceptional cuisine experience. The ambiance is exhilarating with live entertainment to top it off. The tent seating truly made me feel like a princess on my birthday. My husband and I had never eaten Mediterranean cuisine prior to that day and we were pleased with the food. The salmon with couscous was well seasoned and was very tasty. Additionally, the lamb chops with their specialty Jasmine rice that incorporated bits of pita chunks was also very delicious and well seasoned. The staff was very friendly and social also very accommodating and catered to your needs. I loved the restaurant and would definitely recommend to friends and family especially for a special occasion.
Superb food, fantastic atmosphere, great service! A must for all in New York.
I have been coming to Casa Le Femme for many years. The food is AMAZING and very authentic. The owner is a first class gentleman and went the extra mile to take care of our group of 8.
The place is a lot of fun for groups or a special date. I took my wife there before we were married and she loved it. We have been regulars ever since. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful for small groups and events.
Excellent food and ambiance.
Loved the food and Show! A+
The restaurant is very unique in its decor...warm and charming.
The staff was very inviting and upbeat. The food was fresh and a little spicy.
Overall, the experience was excellent for a small party with good friends who want to have fun.
The bellydancer's were very professional and attractive as well.
Expensive no value for the money Friday night sitting with empty tables expensive food and waiters and waitresses looking at your food 2 people and empty stomach cost $170
WORST PLACE/SERVICE EVER... NEVER GOING BACK... PEOPLE GO HEAR IF YOU WANNA GET HUMILIATED AND WASTE YOUR TIME.
WENT BACK AFTER ALMOST 8 MONTHS, NOTHINGS CHANGED....ITS GONE DOWN AND GOING MORE DOWN IN ALL ASPECTS (FOOD, SERVICE, PRICE etc)....
Great venue and belly dancers!
Fun place place with good food and entertainment! Great for celebrating or just going to have a good time with friends.
Waitress was annoying and kept trying to make us buy and order more....and then we saw them charge another table for extra items that were actually supposed to be on our bill, and the other table didn’t notice....but we ended up having to pay for our items anyway so the restaurant made double. VERY sketchy, and even as we were getting up another waitress tried to make us stay and order dessert and after we said no we saw her leave and whisper something to the manager. I just got a weird vibe after leaving there and I don’t think I’ll go back again, which is a shame because the food was decent. I didn’t want to believe other reviews that mentioned the double charge stories but it’s true!
The food was good and ambiance was very cozy. However, based on other reviews in Open Table, I called ahead before making reservations to ensure the time of the belly dancing. After confirming before and when we were seated days later, the dancer never performed. We asked the waiter who then stated that the dancer would not perform because the audience was "low". Very disappointed and would have chosen another venue as we traveled 300 miles to visit NYC.
