Casa Barcelona Ratings and Reviews
This place is fantastic. Went there again recently for a celebratory date night. The food is authentic and you can taste the passion in every dish made with fresh and quality ingredients. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Owner approaches tables and makes sure customers are satisfied and everything is up to par. Live dancers as well on certain weekends make it a fun night out!
Likely the best tapas restaurant we have ever been to. Owner and chef Edwardo is beyond hospitable ensuring we meets all guests at least twice!
The food was out of this world! Fresh, tasty, authentic just overall exceptional!
Highly recommend this restaurant! I believe it to be one of Toronto's best!!!!
We will be back! Very soon!!!!
Great food and great service. To be honest when the first plate came out , I though I was going to have to stop at McDonald's on the way home cuz it was a small plate. However, I was pleasently surprised when the plates kept coming all of which were amazing in taste . I have driven by this place many times always wondering how the food was , now I know and I have to say I can't wait to go again .
I have had tapas before. this was nothing like what I had before. I expected everything fresh, flavourful. I found everything I ate boring. and the prices were exorbitant! $36 for two small pieces of beef which were not tender, and drenched in sauce, so you cannot enjoy the flavour. it came with some strange potato salad and french fries. oh, one thing was good. I had chocolate mousse for dessert. it was lovely.
What happened to Casa Barcelona? Service is not what it used to be, very in experienced service help for a restaurant of that caliber. We were served then rushed out to pay our bill. We were two of eight people in the entire restaurant. Very, very disappointing compared to my first experience. I will not be going back.
Have been to Casa Barcelona on numerous occasions and have always been extremely happy. The owner takes time to come out and meet his customers. The food is excellent. We've only gone in Saturday's and they have a live show as well. They have 2 dancers who come out and entertain.
There are so many dishes to choose from, good to ask for advice which we did and were steered to the best and freshes dishes. We wanted true tapas and all we tried were excellent.
Difficult not to order too much but we finished everything just because of the beautiful variety of flavours which were so tempting.
The owner is genuine and enthusiastic about the way he runs the place but the food is quite expensive and the paellas aren't all that great. The tapas menu consisted of 7 items with the chorizo sausage tasting the best followed by the grilled chicken and saffron sauce. Everything else tasted mediocre. The beef was rubbery and the grilled garlic shrimp was bland and tasteless.
I was happy with quantity they served and would have written a more favourable review if the food were priced more reasonably OR tasted better than what was served to us.
Since no one was there when we arrived there was no problem with noise. The male owner tended to be hovering which made for an uncomfortable start as we were checking the menu. His presumption is that we've not had tapas food so he painstakingly explained every dish. Not really needed when he could have asked if we had questions. $100+ later we had a horrible experience with the same person in getting our open table points. He was rude, obnoxious and would not care whether we got the 1k points or not - the very reason we got to his restaurant in he first place. The good food was overshadowed by an unpleasant pre and post-meal experience which left an overall bad taste in our mouths. We suggest going to another Spanish restaurant if you want a pleasant and uncomplicated experience.
The restaurant has very delicious, interesting and very authentic Spanish dished. Everything that we ordered (seafood soup, calamari, grilled tenderloin with mushroom sauce, and meat and seafood paella) are truly enjoyable and great to be shared with family and friends. You can order their anything for single serving or for sharing. The owners and their staff were very friendly and accommodating. My only concern is the price because their servings are a little bit smaller compared to the price they are worth and that the place may need a little bit of re-decorating. But overall, great place to for dining (with a little caution on your budget)
