Great food! The food was hot, cooked perfectly and very tasty. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. The service was at times a tad slow for a weeknight, but very good overall. Will definitely visit again.
Good food, But pricey, well managed, clean, waiters well trained.
The petit was so good. Couldn’t ask for better service. It was a Saturday evening and was noisy with several groups in the room we ate in. The next time we will pick a weekday (not Friday)
Always a good meal at Carvers. My steak was under-done but otherwise everything was great.
Review for 03/09/18 5:45 reservation.
This has been one of our favorite restaurants. We don't live near here anymore, but we decided to have dinner here on our way home from work. As always the ambiance is wonderful. Brings back so many memories.
Service was excellent!!! Our server was on point and very attentive.
Ordered an old fashioned to start. I am very picky when it comes to this drink. Although the flavor was good. The orange slice was muddled in my drink. Pulp consumed this drink. Not a fan. Fruit should never be muddled in this drink.
Food was very good. Wife and I both had the 11oz. Fillet. Cooked to perfection. However my wife felt that he cut tasted gamey. Mine was ok. Au gratin potatoes were good. The asparagus (grilled) cooked perfectly. Did order the side of port wine sauce for the steaks. It was good but a little too sweet (I know port wine is sweet). I typically prefer a cabernet or merlot reduction. Had the gooey flourless cake for dessert. It is topped with vanilla ice cream. Fantastic!
Overall, had a great time and meal.
Traditional but delicious fare in a charming warm atmosphere. You woyjd never guess as outside not well kept up. Big fireplace. Great martinis and steaks. My mom always has the lobster and I had crab legs this time. . All perfectly done. Great service. French onion soup and Caesar salad very good too. Recommend!
A delicious menu with wonderful selections. Try the garlic cheese bread! Yummy!
As usual, our dining experience was wonderful not just for the food but for the car and attention of David and his staff. You can’t beat Carvers!
We were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. I told them in the occasion section of the reservation. No one made an attempt to say anything about his birthday. No song, cake or anything. Very disappointed.
We went to this restaurant while family was in town for a visit. The food was wonderful! In our group we had pork chops, rack of lamb and a strip steak. All of the meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were savory and delicious. Although priced a bit higher than our average night out (but still reasonably priced), we will definitely come back to this restaurant for special occasions!
Great service and great food
We went for my sons birthday. We had never been but had heard good things from friends. The food and service was great.
The only thing I can suggest based on our visit is to resurface the steps leading to the dining area on the perimeter. They are wood steps and my daughter slipped and hurt her foot/ankle. Nothing was said or done about her fall. I can’t imagine she is the only one this has happened to given the lighting and many of the clientele are older.
All in all it was a great birthday dinner for my son!
Two of us had the" Special "for that evening, Meat wasn't tender ,Shrimp was very dry(over cooked!) Even Bread was so dry that crumbs felt like a piece of cracker.
The server seems very unhappy that night, felt rushed.
I've been here few times with friends & family before always enjoyed meal & service. But It was a big disappointed night !
We have always dined here on weeknights and have enjoyed it a lot, However, this was Saturday evening and the place was a zoo. Noise level in the Library Dining Room was obnoxious. We could not even have a conversation at our table. Avoid on Friday and Saturday nights.
Neigborhood Gem Great food, ambiance and entertainment.
A tad on the pricey side, but well worth it!
Prime rib - awesome!
Sun dried tomato & basil shrimp fettucine - awesome!
Filet mignon - awesome!
Service - excellent!
Too full for desserts... kinda sad, actually, as they looked just as good as everything else.
From the moment we walked in the door, our party of four was was treated well. Our booth as comfortable, our server was friendly and the servers assistance kept our glasses full and plates cleared. The cocktails were great! Our steaks were perfectly cooked! We enjoyed our relaxing, delicious meal and will definitely be back soon.
The service was great. The food was outstanding and they really went out of their way to make us feel special. Definitely going back.
Excellent dining experience, so enjoy my time at Carvers!!!
No prefix menu for Valentines Day was great. Had wonderful Rib eye steak and good wine. Noise was a little high some very loud talking tables. Pretty pricey overall.
The food is always great here. Our server was awesome!
Visited Carvers for a special Valentine's dinner. They were well prepared for the crowd in every way. They added to the ambiance by adding a trail of pink and red rose petals from the driveway to the reception desk. In my opinion, Carver's steaks rival the bigger stead houses and is a much better value in a cozy setting.
Always enjoy this restaurant. Both the food and service are outstanding.
as good as ever, even on Valentines Day. Filet mignon and lobster was the special for that evening and it was delicious. Service is always good there, even though it was busy we didn't feel rushed, in fact we told him when we were ready to have our entree's.
Very friendly staff, food was amazing, highly recommend
Our food was delicious. We were there on Valentine's Day with a reservation and didn't have to wait at all. The service was on point and all of the staff were very nice and accommodating.
Easy to reserve on the open table app! Good food, and fast service!
Food and ambience were great. Steak and lamb chops were excellent and wines were reasonably priced. A definite 80's vibe, but still a great date place.
The service, food and everything is alway fantastic.
Very pleased with everything about our experience. Have eaten there before and will do so again.
Always great food and service. When you order you meal you also get a basic starter and side with it. Great food.
This is the first time in 15 years that Carvers has left me disappointed. I had very high standards considering all our previous visits in the past, I would have rated a solid five stars. I’m not sure if it’s under new ownership or new chefs but needless to say something has definitely changed. Our waiter seemed distracted or “new.” One thing I’ve always loved about Carvers is their excellent service. But not this time, maybe he was stretched too thin between all the tables he was waiting on. Our bread came out cold, without butter. I had to ask for the butter. My salad was terribly put together. I had to ask for a refill, instead of our waiter noticing my cup was empty the several times he’d stopped by our table (and not asking if I needed a refill.) I ordered my steak medium, however, it came out lukewarm in a gradient of medium, medium rare, and rare. I currently can’t eat rare meats, so I was annoyed. I received better food and service at Black Angus, which I considered a step down from Carvers. Maybe they’re not a step down after all. I gave our recent visit a three because my husband was happy with his meal. One positive, your creme brûlée was excellent. I probably won’t be coming back for a while. I’ll have to forget this recent experience in order for that to happen.
Food was just ok. Steak was cooked as requested but looked like it was sitting out for a while before being brought out. Calamari appetizer had too much "stuff" on top, distracting from the main flavor. Surprisingly, the wedge salad was the best part of the meal.
1st time there -- everything we hoped for and more!!! :)
Overall dining experience was good, I had the 10oz prime rib, it was good, however the value was not worth 31.00 which included a side salad and bake potato. I can find a better value at other restaurants. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mine spending 50.00, for prime rib if the quality is there. I had to return my Caesar salad because the dressing so vinegary and bland. The server was very kind to replace it was a regular salad. However, it was prepared with just lettuce and bell peppers. No tamatoes or croutons. We dine out quit offen, however, we’ll have to skip carvers in the future until the quality of menu improves.
We were there for the early bird specials and the noise level was pretty high. Once they moved us to the patio area it was fine. The food and service are consistently good here. We like steak houses like this that have several smaller rooms partitioning off the people and sound and where they have very professional waitstaff.
Nancy is a great waitress. We always enjoy Carvers.
Good local dining. Pleasant for quiet conversation. Excellent early dinning menu. Very attentive service
Food was adequate
Great service, very delicious food. Great live band and great atmosphere..
