    I had really high expectations after reading several 5 star reviews. The filet was ok- I ordered med rare and it had brown edges - more like med and the edges were definitely well done. The wine list is basic $10 bottles. The mashed potatoes were flavorless. It was my daughter’s birthday and they brought the check and didn’t offer a dessert. I would compare this to a blank Angus or roadhouse with high prices. Definitely not comparable to Ruth’s Chris or Larson’s.

    We chose Carver's to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, although no one seemed to remember that's why we were there. Nevermind, we had a great time anyway.

    Chicago cut ribeye was great! Service was almost too fast haha. Steak was cooked exactly how we asked for both myself and my date, will definitely be coming back in the future. Would highly recommend!

    Carvers is a first-class steakhouse. They have various cuts and sizes such as a 6 oz, 8 oz and 12 oz filet as well as prime rib and New York. The beef is excellent quality, and their dinners include a choice of two soups, four salads, many sides including potatoes, vegetables, mushrooms and more. Happy hour prices start at $27 for the complete 6oz Filet dinner. Great choices for dessert including mud pie, cheesecake, Cream Brule and ice cream. The wine selection is significant, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. All in all this place is a bargain compared to others such as Morton's, Ruth Chris and others. Since my wife recently started eating meat after being a vegetarian for the last twenty years, we will be making Carvers our go to restaurant for steak dinners.

    Carvers was a tradition for my dad who passed this year. We had experienced Carvers with him many times and continue the tradition in his honor. Carvers food never disappoints. This year we had the prime rib, filet mignon and the best au gratin potatoes around. We also tried the turkey dinner and the pumpkin pie. All was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, even with the Thanksgiving crush.

    Our family enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal at Carver's this year- the food was incredible as was the service. Delighted to enjoy such a good meal with family and friends, while being cared for by Carver's excellent & attentive staff.

    We went for Thanksgiving lunch - worst Thanksgiving we've ever had - The turkey was so dry (mostly dark meat, so even worse) that we couldn't even eat it - There was a blob of cranberries, a glob of overcooked green beans and onions, mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of gravy. There was no stuffing - what Thanksgiving meal doesn't have stuffing. It was also lukewarm and since we only saw our server when she took our order and when she dropped off the check. It was early in the day (11:45) so it was not very busy - we ended up spending over $100 to take the food home to our dog. We are regular customers of Carvers and have been since they opened but this was definitely an extremely disappointing experience ! No one asked about how our meal was and we were unable to spot anyone in charge so we have just been left with a very bad feeling about returning to Carvers. Hope this is not a trend for this restaurant....

    Usually we go to Black Angus or Claim Jumper for a night out for a good dining experience. Without a doubt, Carvers is the favorite for us now. The reservation was simple and we waited for about 10 minutes to get a table. The service was excellent and the food was too.

    It wwas our first experience with Carvers as we recently moved to RB and nobody mentioned it to us. We have tried several Restaurants in the area and Carvers is the VERY BEST! We like eating early and it is great to know they open at 4:30pm. We plan to become regulars. Thanks to our server Matt and to a young man with a beautiful curly hair that pay constant attention to our table. Service is the best we have had and have been i. Restaurants from San Marcos to Carmel Valley. So far, CARVERS HAS THE BEST FOOD AND THE BEST SERVICE.

    My wife and I were looking forward to a NICE date night dinner at a quality higher end steakhouse to celebrate overcoming some tough weeks. I'd been here many years before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The host 'checked us in' with, "have a seat and we'll call you when your table is ready"; not a hello, welcome, or thank you. We were called a few minutes ahead of our reservation time, a plus. The host leading us to our seat walked quicky, didn't say a word except to ask to remove the extra place settings. It took roughly 10 minutes for our server to arrive only for her to say, "I'll be with you in one moment," turned to the table behind her, then left. When she came back she did apologize with an, "I'm sorry", and jumped right to what we would like to get started. We never got her name, or any proper greeting. My wife asked for water, I ordered a Moscow Mule, and she began to walk away, turned back and asked what rum I wanted in it, confused by that question and feeling rushed for an answer, I just said, mid shelf. We had decided on an appetizer but she was gone before we could make that request. It took almost another 10 minutes for my drink to arrive, still no water. Our server returned to take our order, we crammed the appetizer and our meal order together, and my wife ordered a wine now knowing what to pair. Nearly 30 minutes: We noticed the family of 4 that seated well after us had been served, by the same server, their drinks, water, and had bread on the table. A couple seated next to us were being handed their sides, when our server seemed to remember us at that moment and said she would be right back with the wine, and I reminded her we asked for water also; "oh yeah" was her response. With that we decided our service was not worth the price of our plates and asked to have our order canceled. We paid for our drink and left. The only product I can rate was the Moscow Mule, it was the only water received the entire 30 minutes we sat.

    Glad we had reservations place was packed Waiter must have been new, very unknowable about food and wines. Never told us the specials of the night. Just needs more knowledge of the restaurant world be more helpful to him and customers

    Overall we were happy with the meal. We had a shrimp cocktail to start. Would rate that a 4 out of 5. After biting into the shrimp they tasted a bit watery. We think the reason was because they were still a little frozen. We’ve always enjoyed their shrimp cocktails. Would definitely get again despite the condition of the shrimp. Was likely a fluke. My husband had the ribeye, and clam chowder, he said both were excellent. He got the 10 Oz and took home half. Plenty to share. I had lamb appetizer and French onion soup, also excellent. The service however was slow. For some reason it appeared very busy for a Wednesday evening. Not sure if our waiter was just inundated. But hat said he was apologetic and pleasant. Their prices are great. Almost forgot we received a complimentary bread pudding desert for our anniversary. It was delish!

    This was our first time visiting Carvers and it was excellent. The only drawback was the heavy smell of perfumes at the entrance. This would not stop me from revisiting it just may be something to consider trying to either update the entry interior or having fresh air circulating. The food is top notch and very reasonably priced.

    I arrived during Early Dining, which included several of their main dinner dishes at reduced prices, which made the value much higher. I ordered the prime rib, and it came out medium rare (which is likely as close as it comes to true rare). The taste was a bit bland. The Au jus, creamy horseradish sauce, and grated horseradish were all very good and compensated for the prime rib itself. I had steamed vegetables (broccoli) instead of starches, and my server astutely assumed that I did not need bread (which looked quite good, and others raved about). I had raspberry sorbet, which was abundant and very tasty. I also had a glass of Malbec, which was quite young but opened up nicely after a while. Overall, to this point, the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it then took 15 minutes to receive and pay the check. Not so good. My recommendation would be to try their other dishes, like the steaks. They also have a nice selection of salads, pastas, and seafood. I would go back.
