Carver's Steakhouse - Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a great experience art Carver's!! Out was a beautiful atmosphere and the service was great! We never ran out of water at the table and the drinks were always flowing. The food was amazing we started with the seafood platter, it had crab, shrimp, lobster and scallops! All delicious... only thing is I wish there were more shrimps! Other then that the drinks were great and the entrees were delicious. I had the sea bass, was cooked perfectly and hubby had the boar which was also cooked to perfection!! Really great restaurant to celebrate any occasion!
The lobster was tough
Other than that the whole meal service etc. Was exceptional
After the Reno a different menu was introduced. It seems it has gone back to a more traditional steakhouse menu.
Thank you!!! This city was starving for a steakhouse.
The steaks were exceptional, better even than when we ate there in May, 2017. We have 2 celiacs in our family & have found we can eat off your menu with no adverse reactions. It would be nice if there were a few more dessert options that were offered as gluten free.
We went here for our 40th wedding anniversary. Service was excellent. I had the Lobster Oscar Tenderloin it was fantastic. My husband had the Chef's cut steak a 44day aged AAA 13oz rib eye enjoyed but he has had better. Everything was wonderful. A perfect evening.
What a treat, we really enjoyed a wonderful meal at Carver's. The service was exceptional; from the moment we were geeeted to the end of our evening we were in very good hands with the welcoming, attentive and professional staff. It's rare to have such fine service and it made the evening even more memorable.
The food was wonderful too: an excellent house salad, oysters and perfectly presented filet mignon and salmon. The wine list is extensive and commendable although a bit pricey.
I rated the value as excellent although it is a more expensive evening out. You can certainly find more inexpensive meals elsewhere. We did, however, spent the same amount at another local restaurant and came away disappointed in both the service and food. Carver's stands out as the best dining experience we had on our trip (and in recent memory) and we would happily return.
Great service and amazing food. My wife has Celiac, and the staff was great at ensuring everything was gluten free. Waiter ensured we were taken care of, but did not rush us. We were able to enjoy a nice and relaxing meal. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Service was A1. The bread was very good. Asparagus was excellent, and cooked to perfection. My wife's virgin cocktail made for her was very tasty. My wife's rosemary chicken cooked just right, but may be a little bland. My rack of Lamb was a tough cut with pieces of hardened gristle in every piece. The turnip was cooked but tasteless. The chocolate desert was very tasty.
The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and we were seated quickly. However the dinner rush seemed to clear out and when it was not very busy, the service seemed to lack, despite her freindliness. Drinks were forgotton, it took a long time to order, items were missing with our meal. I ordered the tenderloin with Oscar and the Oscar part of béarnaise, crab, etc was forgotton somehow. Even though the steak was amazing, sometimes when you are looking forward to a part of a meal and it doesn't arrive, and holds up the other diners, it leaves a negative impression. It seemed to take a long time for us to get service. There was delays even to get our baked potatoes with all the dressings/toppings and I don't think for the price this restaurant charges, you should have to wait for the potato fixings once your meal arrives or have mess ups with the sides on dishes. I think this may have been more of a server issue than a kitchen issue and maybe they were short staffed due to Christmas parties going on in the hotel or something else. We had a variety of steak, fish, appetizers (the gnocchi was amazing) and shared a sticky toffee pudding at the end that could have been heated more (it didn't seem warmed all the way through). The steaks were cooked perfectly. The ambience was very nice and the renovation was very nice as well since this was the first time I have dined there since the reno. We were informed the wine we wanted to order was out on the list and hopefully they will update their wine list. We were given an alternative suggestion by our server and it was paired well with our meals. The portions of all the food were very generous and so I believe this restaurant offers good value of portions for the prices. Carvers is located in the Sheraton but when you are a guest at the hotel, they don't let you order take out. They should change this because the single traveler for work would prefer a good steak with room service if the option existed.
Carver's is a nice place to get a steak but honestly who eats at 22oz steak! The only small portion was a 6oz Fillet that's it. 16oz is really too much. You really pay for the service so I sure hope the staff get paid well. I thought Carver's was "the place." Sorry I won't be dining there again. A caesar salad was so dry and tasteless.
Good meal and service but expensive! it's a high-end spot and one might get a very similar meal for about oneTHIRD the price. (An 8 Oz fillet and veg was $37 and lamb or Prime Rib will run you $55)- but overall, it's worth the difference. Perfect service, perfectly prepared, nice sides and the fresh bread starters are to die for. Enjoy!
