We had a reservation at Carvers for new years eve, and they did not disappoint. The pre set menu was a classy touch and made the evening an great experience. The food was amazing and the service was great. Will definitely be coming back to check out the regular menu
The food and service at Carvers were top notch and you get more food then expected. The best part of the meal was the amuse bouche the chef prepared that evening. I also had the 10oz prime sirloin and I "oscared" my steak which included shrimp, scallops and a crab claw, everything was perfectly cooked. I will definetly be returning to Carvers and I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.
The dining was fantastic. There were three of us dining and we each ordered something different. All three meals were done to perfection and we all shared a little of our meal with each other. Steak and lobster has always been a favourite and it was excellent. Great wine selection. Our waiter was wonderful, (I wish I could remember his name)
The food and service was amazing. We had a great evening for my husband's birthday. The little extras they gave us were a very pleasant surprise. It's a little pricey but very nice for a once a year special occasion. My husband talked about his meal for two days. We will probably go again.
Carver's in my opinion is the best steak in Calgary.
Ambiance - clean, luxurious and stylish. They play an assortment of music that adds to the atmosphere of fine dining.
Customer Service - always the best customer service in the industry. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and intent in ensuring your dining experience is exceptional
Quality of Food - the food is delicious, presentation is always exceptional and the flavours unique and delicious
Value - For high dining, hands down the best value for thee amount of food, quality and the selection.

the staff were awesome, the ambiance awesome, but we came here for the steak which i had filet med rare and lobster but for the price i was very disappointed in the steak because it was dry (although red in the middle) i honestly had a better steak the next day at some random pub that we were at for 15.00. the crab cakes awesome and lobster awesome but steak not so much
We truly our enjoyed our evening at Carver's. The table side caesar was beyond delicious and the crab cakes had a nice crunchy outside and warm softness inside. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and my husband's prime rib was melt in your mouth. Our only complaint was that although tasty enough the desserts didn't match the quality of the rest of the meal. We had the greek cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. They were ok, but not items that made me want more. I actually left quite a bit of mine, which I rarely do. Our server and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our date night.
This was our BEST recommended restaurant in Calgary, prior change of menu. Now without
menu items like flambe's, chateaubrind and escargot, the uniqueness that made Carvers
special has been lost. Carvers is now "lumped" in with numerous other fine dining restaurants.
On a positive note, over the many years, service has always been exceptional. It has always
been a pleasure to see Arnel, Linda, and Johnny.
We had a fantastic meal tonight at Carver's. Both of our steaks were well seasoned and properly cooked, the lobster was nice and sweet, and it was a treat to finally have a properly done (prepared at your table) caesar salad that wasn't drowned in some goopy, creamy dressing. Carver's caesar has the raw egg-based dressing with anchovies, which if done well, tastes fantastic. Theirs did not disappoint.
The service was fantastic, as well. I always enjoy dining at an establishment where the servers are (dare I say) older professionals who do their job well. It was a well-oiled machine where more than one server took your order, brought your food, helped cleared plates, etc. Even the manager stepped in and was assisting, which was nice to see.
The one critique I have are the prices of some of the menu items. While the steaks were reasonably priced, I found the sides to be a bit high. $8.50 for sauce for your steak? $10 for mushrooms? All of those little add-ons can drive the price up quickly. Regardless, what we did order was fantastic, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to those who are looking for tasty food and professional service. We'll be back!
A great steakhouse with attentive service. We were there during the holidays so it was loud with big tables but the server accommodated use very well. The food was very good. Overall you get exactly what you would expect. A reliable high quality evening if you want a steak.
We have visited Carver's several times now. I have previously commented on the fact that we are disappointed that the tableside meal options have disappeared except for the tableside Caesar which we enjoyed again this visit. We chose the Prix Fixe option as the regular menu choices are exceptionally high-priced. Relative to the regular menu, the Prix Fixe is a good choice, however not great. Being a steak house, we both chose steak as our main but were disappointed. While the meat was cooked properly and was tender, it was not flavourful at all. Also, all we received was the meat and mash, no vegetables, so again disappointing. We also miss the sommelier you used to have; that was a lovely touch and very helpful.
The service was good, the meal was good but not one of those 'memorable meals' that stand out. I felt shorted when we ordered the table side Caesar salad and the waiter said another table ordered it so it would be made at that table and they will bring us our serving. We would have much more preferred what the menu had specified. The restaurant was very cold as well.
