                                                      They only had a set menu for NYE Dinner. Fixed price of $50+18% gratuity! We were a party of 4. The service we received did not warrant 18% tip. Food was horrible. This is one of those restaurants that would be featured on Kitchen Nightmares. Highway Robbery.

                                                      The food was very mediocre. I started with soup which was only Luke warm - not hot taste was okay but..... Main course was chicken bonne femme - it also was okay - roasted potatoes tasted like they had been cooked four days before and rewarmed several times - very greasy. Cheese cake very disappointing. My wife had a Caesar salad - just so so. The salmon was okay but that is all. Potatoes inedible. Dessert was creme brûlée, again okay but tasted like it had been made ahead and kept in the freezer or fridge. The wine was superb!

                                                      Restaurant has been renovated. Ambience good. Food quality went down. Our porterhouse steak was not of good quality. Service not good. Server forgot my order and insisted that I didn't order it. I used to come here often. However I no longer recommend it. The Keg has better service & consistent quality.

                                                      Can’t comment on the quality of the food there because the restaurant called me two hours before my booked time - through OpenTable, with email confirming the appointment - to inform me that they had no table for me and my party of seven (business guests from out of town) due to a “large party that booked the whole place” . When I asked if they intended to offer some sort of compensation for this double-booking that left me stranded at the last minute, the response was, “what are you talking about? There is no double booking”. Luckily, Chop Steakhouse was able to accommodate and we had a lovely dinner there.

                                                        If good food with very scant service and drinks made poorly is what you're looking for, Carver's is your place. It had been a few years since we last visited Carvers because the service was not great that time either. We made a reservation on OpenTable to make sure we got a table on a Saturday night at 7, only to arrive and find the restaurant less than half full, on a Saturday night, in September, albeit a rainy one. The food was great, be aware there are items they have which are not on the menu but you have to ask about those. The Bellini which was ordered was not as a bellini normally is served Soda drinks were served directly from tin cans at the table. Service unfortunately would rate only one out of five. Very slow and very inattentive. Good food, great company, but unacceptable service over a 90 minute meal. Likely a few more years before we consider visiting Carver's again.

                                                      The steak was covered in a flavourful but overly seasoned sauce, potatoes were excellent, veggies were slightly overcooked. Four different staff members interrupted my dinner to ask me how everything was. Four. Dear staff everywhere...just stop it. I was trying to read a book. It made my experience very unpleasant. I took dessert back to my room but it ended up in the garbage where it belonged. There are so many easy to make delicious desserts it continues to astound me why restaurants use premade garbage that does not reflect well on them. Would I return?...perhaps, but only if I was staying in the hotel and I could put a sign on my table saying "do not interrupt unnecessarily"

                                                      The food is fantastic! Steaks cooked to perfection and the meal was served in a timely manner. The ambiance was fitting and the service was decent, though I wouldn't call it great. The only major complaint I have is parking. There is not a lot of parking around the restaurant, mostly because it's part of a mid-level hotel. At the time, there was construction on the street, making it impossible to turn left into the restaurant.

                                                      Chose this restaurant for Dine Out because the menu was enticing. Ended up disappointed and would not got back nor recommend. The whole experience and atmosphere seemed thrown together last minute and mismatched. To begin, our table of five was a square table and a round table. The cutlery never matched or was changed out after food arrived. Food was mediocre. The escargot were so small that they were stuffed inside mushrooms, which is acceptable for many places but the ratio was disporportionate that the mushrooms masked any hint of escargot. Most of the dishes were bland and plating was not appealing to the eye. Food often slipped out of position when the plate was placed at the table. Ordered the surf and turf and the meat was cold. Side vegetables were overcooked and mushy. A switch for brighter colours (eg. Brocollini) and more complex prep (mashed instead of roasted potatoes) could begin to compensate for price. Also had to flag down the server multiple times for fresh pepper. Service was ordinary with water refilled often but unlike a high class restaurant, the rim of the pitcher touched the glass when filling water (all the transmittable diseases!), And table crumbs were not cleared. We were there for a special occasion so the complimentary champagne was a nice touch but the worst part was that the server farted while clearing the table. This meal was not worth $45 and not a steakhouse experience.

Lobster rubbery, over cooked. Veal osso bucco tasty, best dish. All desserts well presented, tasty. If the menu is to entice one to return, failing grade.

                                                      We came by for the first time during this year's Dine out. They forgot about our order and we watched several tables that were seated after us, finish their main courses/ desserts before our main courses were served. We asked the server to check on our order 2 times and were told our dishes were being prepared. This is not the worst of all, the worst was the ribs I ordered came cold, not even warm! We've been waiting over an hour for our main course so I just gobbled up the cold ribs. The sauce was good tasting and meat was tender, I can imagine they would be good ribs if served warm.

Parking is easy but confusing if pay parking or not. Turns out it's complimentary. They reimburse parking tickets. Good alternative to downtown Steakhouses.

                                                      I've been to Carver's many times, it's my preferred steak restaurant when I visit Vancouver. The biggest reason is the staff, always warm and friendly, very attentive to the customer. Recently the menu has changed, fewer selections but the food is even better. On two recent visits I tried the mushroom soup and crab cakes for appetizers, followed by the osso buco and New York steak. All terrific. The osso buco quite a surprise not something I would normally order but recommended to me by the manager, Michael. Crab cakes and soup were really good too. On a diet so no dessert! I like that you can just sit quietly if you want to and watch TV at the bar or browse the web, the staff never hurry you if that's what you want. Very friendly, usually busy so it's best to book.

Must mention the food presentation - balanced with the right amount of vegetables and potatoes with wonderful colours. We tried the DineOut Vancouver set menu with paired wine - the choices of appetizers worked very well with the main entrees. Desserts (chocolate and creme brulee) were also lovely. Best western style restaurant in Richmond, BC. Highly recommend it.

                                                      I came here with a couple of friends for Dine Out Vancouver and I have to say I'm sorely disappointed. I had their crab cake for an appetizer. It was cold and dry and it did not look impressive at all. Since I work in the food processor industry, the crab cake definitely looked like it was bought frozen, reheated, then plated. My friend's Caesar Salad was sad. Just imagine, a McDonalds' caesar salad looked better than it did. I ordered their surf and turf with a veal osso bucco, lobster tail, Port wine reduction, balsamic essence. The 'surf' was cooked well but it looked like it was an afterthought on the plate. The "turf' looked as though half of it fell off the bone and never made it to the plate. My two other friends both ordered a Oscar top sirloin 7 oz. with creamy crab & artichoke hearts, mushrooms, parmesan cheese. One ordered a medium and she found it super tough to cut. The cream sauce covered the wholes steak, and with the heat of the sauce, I can only imagine it kept cooking the steak, making it a tougher cut. Sides were just a few tiny yellow potatoes with a thin slice of carrot, pepper and zucchini on all of our plates. Best part of a dish of the night was their dessert. Also paying in cash proved to be difficult as they did not have enough cash in the restaurant to provide enough change to give a proper % of tip. Your choice ended up being either to give no tip, or a 27% tip... Luckily the rest of us had cash to break down the bill that was brought back as change!

                                                      We came here for Vancouver Dine Out. The service was great and was able to accommodate us because one was vegetarian. The food was mediocre and it was a bit dark so it was hard to take photos.

                                                      Service was very slow but that was in part due to the fact that there were many customers. Steaks were very chewie, not what you would expect froma resaurant that has “Steakhouse” in it’s name. We were a table of nine and end up seated in one of the hotel boardrooms. An unusual experience but because it in essence was a “private” room, it was very quiet and suited the elderly members on our party.

                                                      We had a terrible experience. We were there for dine out and would never go back. We had to send the steak back because it was overdone. We order the duo of creme brulee and were only served one and told that it was a duo of flavors which was a flat out lie. The service was atrocious, really slow and unattentive. The manager did nothing to compensate us for the poor experience.

                                                      Food was mediocre. The appetizers were bland and dry. The steaks were very tough and the gravy was so salty! Service was slow and unorganized. I will not recommend this place ever!!! THIS IS MY OPINION.

                                                      The restautant was busy when we arrived.We were greeted and sat in a booth.Staff was friendly and efficient.We had the dine out menu,a 3 course dinner.We had a choice of 5 appetizers,choice of 6 entrees and choive of 3 desserts which is considerable compared to other restaurants.The surf&turf was delicious,osso buco with a lobster Tail. My date had the NY steak which she enjoyed.Food was delicious.We recommend Carvers Steakhouse

                                                      We were here for dineout a few nights ago. We had steak, salmon, and surf & turf. Interesting tasty combination of lobster tail and veal osobuco from the Surf and Turf. The steak is just right and with the Oscar topping filled with a good amount of crab meat. Salmon was a bit underwhelming compared to the two, and definitely could be bigger. Wine pairing worked well for all of the courses. Service overall is quite good.

                                                      Upon arrival, the host went to seat the couple who arrived before us, then went to talk to another table and left us at the door. Service was really slow, the place was very dark, food took a very long time to come and the food was just ok. Nothing really memorable about the experience.
