Carve - Eastside Cannery Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
A friend recommended this place to me. I looked at the menu and the first thing that stood out to me was the reasonable prices. The service and friendly atmosphere was second to non. My wife and i want to frequent this little gem of a restaurant Every time we comeback to Vegas now. We recommend the prime rib and chicken marsella.
We got there right at 6pm per our reservation and the hostess took us straight to a booth. Our waiter( Raphael) took our order and was very friendly. He even spoke Spanish , which helped my girlfriend order exactly what she wanted . I liked the whole experience and will dine there again.
For the restaurant to be so small, the service was insanely slow. I just don't get it. Waiting on tables is not that hard, I've done it before. Perhaps something wrong is going on in the kitchen that is preventing the waiters from getting guests food/drinks at a timely manner, I don't know. The shrimp was tasty but slow service will prevent me from going back.
Terrible service. After being seated we waited for about 15-20 minutes to get a drink order in. Than following the drink orders the server never came back around to take our food orders, let alone check on us. It wasn't a busy night at all (Wednesday night) so after an hour, we left.
Ah, the good "ol days of Carve before the change in ownership of the Cannerys. We dined at Carve at least once a month, sometimes more. The menu had great selections of most everything a good steakhouse should have, including a nice selection of steaks and seafood. Now it is mostly a prime rib restaurant with very limited choices of other entrees. One steak choice?? I always ordered the scallops and linguine, which was to die for. That's gone, and only shrimp scampi is offered. The wonderful maitre de is also gone, but fortunately our favorite sever is still there, whom we requested. Such a shame to turn a wonderful dining spot into the same "ol as every other restaurant in town. We won't be going back!
Since Boyd group bought the Cannery, the restaurant, which was a favorite, has removed many menu items and turned it into a medium quality prime rib restaurant. The staff has always been very courteous and helpful but lately its obvious that staffing has been reduced. I made 2 requests at my last two visits. One was for a recent marriage of relatives i brought in for dinner and the other was an anniversary, both of which was noted at the time i made the reservations. Neither of these was acknowledged by the restaurant. The reduced quality of the food and reduced menu has me looking elsewhere. Another really god restaurant succumbs to the bean counters. . .
The prime rib was excellent. Service was also great. Only disappointment was the downsizing of the menu, apparently after Boyd Gaming purchased the casino. Not as many steak options, entrees, appetizers and side dishes as the last time we dined there. If you are looking for a great prime rib dinner, this is the place to go!
This was our first time eating at Carve. The prime rib was "To Die For". The best I have had in Las Vegas (been here for 42 years!) .Large generous portions, juicy and flavorful. The Loft at the Orleans USED to be my favorite, not anymore. Everything was good, but I don't recommend the potatoes au gratin. It tasted like just cut up potatoes, little cheese and I left it after a few bites. Service was good, not perfect but waiter only worked in this room for 3 days,
I would definitely go back for more "yummy" prime rib.
As soon as we walked in. We were greeted and asked if we had reservations. We were immediately seated. Server came and asked what we like to drink. Came back after a few minutes took our order. My mom and I both ordered prime rib. ( very flavorful 😋) My mom had their mashed potatoes. (So yummy & tasty) I chose the au gratin. ( also nice flavor ). Had an over all pleasant time. I would definitely go back.
The food was excellent; however, my steak was cooked a little too well. I ordered medium and received medium well but it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Service did not match the food quality. The waiter never returned to our table to see how the food was and we had to ask for a dessert selection after the meal. Our waiter seemed very unconcerned about serving us. The service was our only disappointment with Carve. Maybe it was just our waiter. Other couples came in after us and left before us. We were left sitting for long periods with absolutely no service; however, the person with water was constantly filling our glass.
The service was terrific. Was seated immediately. The meal, Prime rib 10 oz was cooked great. The mashed potato was excellent. Bread was first and amazing. The salad supposed 2 choices, but given only one. They did not have the dressing that I wanted. The vegetable was made with a soice that I did not care for at all. Over all experience was great.
