Carson's Prime Steaks & Famous Barbecue - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
What a great place, waiter was very good, nice seating, when there to have the chargrilled pork chops that i kept hearing about. When they came out it was like WOW, 1 lb each and cooked perfect! Could only eat one and one went home with us. What a great chop, will be back for that again!
Our food ticket didn't get to the kitchen until an hour after we ordered. So the waiter and manager apologized and told my date and I that our food would come right out. However, due to the "rush order" on our food, the meal was "over-cooked". I kindly asked our waiter to have them remake our meal and the chef kindly did (with better quality and tenderness). SOo, even though the date started off rough - the staff and management went above and beyond to make things right!! My date and I left, very satisfied with our meal!
This was my first time at Carson's.
The food was very good. I had the Steak and Crab Cake. I am not rib eater;
but my husband is and he said they were cooked to perfection. Our waitress Sam had an energetic and polite personality. She was very good at her job. We need more waitresses like her.
We went out there for Christmas dinner never been there all we had was a nasty tasteless steal me and my fiance augratin potatoes that was cold as ever and one drink our bill was $114.00 Applebees would of been better and for only 40.00. Only nice thing was out waiter and I would never recommend anybody horrible just horrible worst Christmas we had
We visited on Christmas Day for dinner. Carson’s had a good vibe and was pretty crowded given the day.
Food - much better than expected after reading reviews about tough ribs and so-so steaks. Our ribs were smoky, and flavorful with a perfect texture. The prime NY Strips were excellent although they lacked the char that a 1,500 degree broiler can provide. Still a very tasty steak! Salads, apps, and drinks were all very good.
Service - our waitress (Sam) was wonderful. Our party of six included a one year old who was not interested in sitting quietly throughout dinner. Sam was very accommodating without making us feel like she was being put out.
Experience - we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Dinner at Carson’s. If we are in town again next year, I wouldn’t think twice about a repeat visit!
We came early and thankful we did as there was confusion with our reservation. Luckily the staff did not skip a beat and actually sat us early. The service was by far the best I have experienced in Milwaukee in a very long time. I went with my son, celebrating his birthday and we had plans to see a show after. We did have a Groupon and they were more than happy to help us with that, and cater to our dietary needs (dairy free). I thought the steak should been seasoned a tad more, but overall the cut and cook was good.
Everything was great. The only item I would say wasn't appealing, was the overall price yeah. I purchased a Groupon for about $73 and I still paid over 150 for the whole meal. Our server Samantha was awesome I left her a very good tip. We were celebrating a birthday, and Samantha even gave us a free Sunday and sing Happy Birthday even though she said she normally doesn't sing. Overall it was a great experience but next time would need to plan to spend at least $150. The food was great.
First time at Carson's. Food and service were good, but parking was horrible and unexpected. Parked across the street as parking is limited due to construction. I get charging for parking but $30.00/ Bad business even with the $10.00 voucher from Carson's for a drink. Would not have even know about the voucher but had stopped in at Carson's to find out where to park and they told me.....NOT the Parking attendant. Then when we went to get our car the parking had went down to $20.00. Very sad to have to end a nice evening like that.
Ribs were so-so ... Tough, I could barely cut it off the bone and would prob break a tooth if I picked them up and ate them off the bone. Tiny side of this so-called famous cole slaw. Potato was good. Music was good .... I wouldn't go back. Waaaay over-priced, and for what? Not the food.
Nate was our server on Saturday 11/25/17 and he literally went above and beyond the second we sat down at our table. He greeted us with a warm and energetic mood and went above our expectations. The food was great but having a great server makes it break a restaurant. We were in town visiting for a relaxing getaway and we highly recommend this place based on his service alone! We haven’t been treated like that in a long time! THANKS NATE!!
I would highly recommend a visit to Carson's. The waiter was able to adjust our selection to include the brisket with the half-rack. The ribs were outstanding!! The brisket was ok but go for the full rack of ribs. My next visit will include a charbroiled steak which looked excellent. Our other guests had something off the sandwich menu and they were also very pleased with those selections.
My experience overall was great. My only problem was that when my date and I️ entered the restaurant, the greeter at the reservation table had her back to us, and was on her cell phone. My date knocked on the counter to get her attention. Once I gave her my name and reservation time, she escorted us to our table. However, later on she returned to confirm my name again. Why ?
Our server was awesome! I wish I remembered her name. I ordered a steak and my date ordered the rack of ribs. We were not impressed with the ribs and potatoes. We ended up sharing my steak and potato. The corn bread was amazing! We will definitely go there again for the service and steaks.
We dined here on a recent Monday before a Bucks game. Food was very good and pork chops and filet are both outstanding! Salads come with homemade dressing are excellent. On the down side our server, though friendly , appeared young and inexperienced so was a bit slow, especially with the first visit and first round of drinks that took ten or fifteen minutes. While the food is pricey ($280 for dinner for four plus a couple drinks each) it is exceptionally well prepared and tasty. We will be back.
Pre theatre dinner: Absolutely delicious meal. Very tender and tasty filet mignon and barbecue pork chop with sweet, not too spicy sauce. Like the choices of the a la carte menu. Smaller but good selection and prices on the wine list. Welcoming and friendly service. Plenty of time for our dinner, never felt rushed. Will definitely go again.
I was absolutely pleased in every aspect of my visit.
I was running late because of traffic and they held my reservation for the duration.
The waitress, Missy, was incredibly helpful and kind. She recommended food and took great care of us with her service and checking in. She even got me a great substitute on my meal (Gorgonzola sauce for blue cheese).
The food was outstanding! Corn bread, shrimp, ceaser salad, au gratin potatoes, steak, crab cakes, and BBQ pork sandwich. I would highly recommend it all.
Very clean and friendly too.
