Carson's Prime Steaks & Famous Barbecue - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
My experience overall was great. My only problem was that when my date and I️ entered the restaurant, the greeter at the reservation table had her back to us, and was on her cell phone. My date knocked on the counter to get her attention. Once I gave her my name and reservation time, she escorted us to our table. However, later on she returned to confirm my name again. Why ?
Our server was awesome! I wish I remembered her name. I ordered a steak and my date ordered the rack of ribs. We were not impressed with the ribs and potatoes. We ended up sharing my steak and potato. The corn bread was amazing! We will definitely go there again for the service and steaks.
We dined here on a recent Monday before a Bucks game. Food was very good and pork chops and filet are both outstanding! Salads come with homemade dressing are excellent. On the down side our server, though friendly , appeared young and inexperienced so was a bit slow, especially with the first visit and first round of drinks that took ten or fifteen minutes. While the food is pricey ($280 for dinner for four plus a couple drinks each) it is exceptionally well prepared and tasty. We will be back.
Pre theatre dinner: Absolutely delicious meal. Very tender and tasty filet mignon and barbecue pork chop with sweet, not too spicy sauce. Like the choices of the a la carte menu. Smaller but good selection and prices on the wine list. Welcoming and friendly service. Plenty of time for our dinner, never felt rushed. Will definitely go again.
I was absolutely pleased in every aspect of my visit.
I was running late because of traffic and they held my reservation for the duration.
The waitress, Missy, was incredibly helpful and kind. She recommended food and took great care of us with her service and checking in. She even got me a great substitute on my meal (Gorgonzola sauce for blue cheese).
The food was outstanding! Corn bread, shrimp, ceaser salad, au gratin potatoes, steak, crab cakes, and BBQ pork sandwich. I would highly recommend it all.
Very clean and friendly too.
Carsons in Milwaukee was really good. The Mgr. John, took very nice care of us and the owner Renee Carson was a pleasure to meet. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back. Never had the greek chicken prior, because usually go w/ ribs...but the chicken was excellent.
Carson's is one of my favorite dining places in downtown Milwaukee. Great food, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. I had the filet, my wife the filet and crab cakes, both excellent. Mushrooms and au gratin potatoes, we started with the Wedge and Garbage salads. Simply outstanding!
Cow a bunga this place rocks. Absolutely the best place in town for charcrust steak. The asparagus, cheddar potatoes and extra slaw rounded out a great meal. Our waiter was super attentive with endless water refills. Never felt rushed. Sunday night was great for parking tho we have been offered a discount for paid parking in the area. Nestled right near the new Bucks arena.
Went to Carson's for our anniversary and had some wonderful food. Great steak, very good shrimp appetizer and delicious au gratin potatoes. Then the TalkLoud group walked in. There must have been 12-15 people in this business type group and not a one of them knew how to use their inside voice. And the more they drank, the louder they got. And to add insult to injury our up to then wonderful server, "Missy", was drafted to help serve them. So, we ended up waiting a looong time to get our check.
This isn't the first time this has happened here so I'm really on the fence. Is the food good enough to put up with not being able to have a conversation with the person across the table? Should the management have put them in the empty private dining room? I'm leaning towards the "it's not worth it side". When you get seated near the bar you go through the same thing and we had to specifically ask not to be seated near the bar and then we got the TalkLouds. Oh, by the way parking sucks, really bad, because of the construction.
Fantastic Groupon deal. Thoroughly enjoyed the Cosmos, Caesar Salad, the steaks with char-crust, cheesy potatoes and massive fudgy chocolate cake. Klinker Brick Zin was a perfect accompaniment to both the steak and the chocolate cake. Our server,Christi was good as well.
The food and the service was good, but the place is starting to look a bit dated and banged up. The noise level ( we sat near the bar) was incredibly loud.
If I am going to spend a premium for dinner , then I want to be able to hear the people at my table without speaking louder
Unlike Capital Grill ( which is a " chain") this place felt like a " chain / franchise"
