We were early for our reservation and thought we could have a cocktail at the bar, but they use both bars for dinner reservations so we had to sit by the reception desk and wait for our table. Food was very good, except for grilled chicken on salad. It was bland and dry. They were very busy and service was slow. After this visit, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to dine there again.

Did something I have never done before, which is order prime rib. Never have been a fan of PR but since their sandwich is so %#@+ing good I decided to give it a try. What came to me was a thick cut, deliciously seasoned piece of heaven served with Carson’s homemade horseradish sauce and the succulent au jus. So glad I ordered it albeit disappointed I waited so long to try it. Better late than never, served with the best creamed spinach in the Midwest and served with a manhattan (2 actually) perfectly poured by Ali, one of several of Carson’s finest bartenders/mixologists, that adds to the experience that brings me back each week.

Phenomenal meal for a special occasion. BBQ was delicious and the portions were large. Place was loud on a Friday night and vibrant.

We had the Mediterranean shrimp, NY Strip and broccoli. It was the best NY Strip steak I ever had and I am not exaggerating. The one thing that was a turn off was the restaurant upfront charging 18% gratuity. Even though we had great service and could have tipped same or more, restaurant making that decision for the customer is wrong

We calculate pretax a “recommended minimum tip” in bold lettering on everyone’s check no matter party size for guest convenience. Many of our loyal guests have complimented us on this as it takes the calculation and guesswork stress out of figuring pre tax tips from an otherwise enjoyable end of a dining experience. Many like you choose to add more for great service as you suggest which is why there is an additional line for that. I had ribs, wife bbq chicken. Both were excellent. I requested seating in the main ding room rather than the bar. We found the bar too noisy for us last time. Service was excellent...and.... if you already haven't, try the French onion soup.

I always have a great meal at Carson's. I am sad that they no longer make the crispy onion rings/sauteed well done for my burger! Otherwise amazing as always

My favorite restaurant, and last night did not disappoint. My ONLY criticism is that they’ve gotten a bit pricey on the ‘smaller’ things. Charging for bread, for example. And no longer offering a side salad at a reasonable upgrade price. But that that doesn’t take away from the fact that everything there tastes great.

Great food but very pricy. Had to pay extra for a salad and bread. Would go there more often despite it's distance from where I live but only go on special occasions.

Although we charge for salads, shareable tuscan loaf, homemade corn bread; we don’t charge extra for homemade coleslaw, generous veggie or potato is side included in all meals. We didn’t charge for 2 anniversary brownie sundaes either. Manhattan, Maker's Mark Rocks, Paulaner, Corn Bread, Tuscan Loaf, Chopped Liver App, Garden Salad double Blue Cheese, BBQ Babybacks Full Slab Greek Pot, slaw, BBQ Babybacks 1/2, Double Baked Pot, slaw, 10oz Filet Mignon, Double Baked Pot, slaw, BBQ Babybacks 1/2, Creamed Spinach, slaw, Shrimp DeJonghe Dinner Double Baked Pot, slaw, BBQ Combo Creamed Spinach, slaw 2 Free Brownie sundaes, Tiramisu, Water service, attended by 2 servers. $297 pre tax and tip (don’t profit from those) Fri night split 2 ways, party of 6 is a value.
