Excellent food to go!
It’s a nice BbQ place. Good ribs, fun liver and cheese self serve. My #1 fav place is Houston’s for tender ribs, the feel of this location is similar, cozy, fireplace’s booths and leather, but Carson's has au’gratin and Houston's does not. A bit noisy when full. Love it!
Great food and atmosphere!
It was great as always!
Havent had Carsons in quite a while. Made the trip up from the city to the Deerfield location. Of course, half of my party ordered the ribs. We all had the same opinion of the ribs. Not tender and very rough to eat. If it wasn't for the great bbq sauce, the ribs were almost inedible. The appetizers were great and service was top notch. Overall, we were all pretty disappointed .
Went to dinner with parents, children and grandchildren. Food was very good as was the service. Will definitely be going back.
It was delicious , table of six by the fireplace for our out of town guests . They loved it all !
As a frequent visitor to Carsons the food is Excellent usually, this visit the silverware was dirty, Chicken was undercooked and the waitstaff spilled a cup of coffee on me. Highly unusual for this to happen.
Just very very disappointed on this visit.
We were looking forward to visiting an old friend, Carson's. The ribs were dried out, not much meat on them. Three of the 6 ordered ribs all bad. Salmon was sub-par. Even the au gratin potatoes were dried.
The cobb salad was the only thing decent after requesting some shorted ingredients. Perhaps eating at 8 pm was too late for them.
The waiter we had was impeccable! He was attentive, cheerful and asked thoughtful questions. He made our Christmas dinner wonderful. The food was outstanding. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and Hannuakah. Thankful Carson’s was open on Christmas Eve!
Ribs came out ice cold and waitress was never to be found

The best coleslaw!
Great food great service
We wanted pork chop and the server told us they were out of them. It was a Saturday night. Probably their busiest night of the week. Pork chops are also one of their top menu items. They should have had plenty more in house not to run out of them on a Saturday evening.
Also, we requested to sit in the bar area and it wasn’t available and they said we could wait. We waited for a long time to watch them seat smaller parties at tables that could have been pushed together for our party. It wasn’t very smart of them.
I took eight friends for my birthday. Our table was ready when we arrived. Our server was ok not great but also not bad. All our meals came out at the same time and all were hit and correct. I thought $28 for a slab of ribs, potato and coleslaw was on the high side but they were very good. It was noisy but I do expect it to be quiet. Overall everyone in my group was pleased.
They were able to accommodate our group of 15 and put our two tables next to each other. They also gave us individual bills with the tip added in which worked out perfectly.
Unfortunately we started off on the wrong foot.....when the reservation for 8 was made we requested the large round table to the left of the hostess desk. I also called that day to confirm that we would be getting the table requested. When we arrived we were told that we could not have that table as it now was reserved for a party of 10. So we were upset, but since this dinner was to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday & our upcoming 50th wedding anniversary , we accepted the smaller round table by the bar.
The hostess did offer a round of drinks on them to make up for the issue.
Fortunately the waiter kept clearing the table in order to make space for each entree & the gifts that were presented by my family for the occasion. Also unfortunately my son ordered the prime rib sandwich & was told about 15 minutes later that Carson's had run out of Prime Rib. It was a Sunday at just past 6:00 6 PM & the steak house already ran out of Prime Rib?? All things considered this was not the best Carson's Ribs dinner my family & I had experienced over the past 20 years of dinning there.
Most likely it will be quite a while before we book any "family dinners" there.
I will say that the food was great & our waiter was the best.
Good food. Excellent service. Group of 7. Treated like family. Birthday celebration and was made to feel special!!
Moderate prices. Easy parking.
Overall it was a great experience. Our server was great!
Been here many times. I do not send food back. The server asked how I wanted my pork chop which I’ve had numerous times and I said medium rare. He said medium and I said again medium rare. It was practically burnt but still okay.
I booked it as a birthday but when the meal was finished the waitress asked if anyone wanted dessert? No cake or birthday cupcake. Very disappointed
Great food and professional service. Very nice evening
Is is a classic smaller bar bbq, but nicer place. Great classic Carson’s liver spread cheese spread. Great service, most times we have gone. Great food and drinks.
Only draw back is limited large tables. And kinda close quarters. Would be much quieter, if we were not there😊
We had a great time, the food was as good as the first time we went to Carson’ Rib in downtown Chicago and every other time since then.
Chopped liver a bit dry
Out of double baked potatoes
Ribs were good
Cole slaw was like soup
Waitress did an outstanding job, made dinner very enjoyable. Food is consistently good but coleslaw serving size appears to get smaller and smaller over the years.
Still the same quality ribs and au-gratin potatoes that have been served for many years. The chopped liver is always a treat.
Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service. We'll be back!
Service was great. Server was excellent with 4 small children. Food came quickly and hot.
Food is always good. In the summer it is really nice to sit outside. Waiter was very attentive.
Everything was delicious! Out for a friends birthday
Amazing food and service! We celebrated a birthday and could not have asked for a better meal and service! Wonderful!
Everyone did a fantastic job.
GREAT PLACE GREAT FOOD I WILL BE BACK.
Great place for things like birthdays
8 of us were celebrating a birthday. It was as good as always.
Food is still great, terrible waitstaff practically ruins experience. Get better waiters might as well been served by one that should be working at Steak ‘n Shake
Our large family had a delicious dinner. The service was great highly recommend
Carson's is consistently delicious. The ribs are not the fall off the bone type but they are flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce is the best I have ever had. I always get a salad instead of the coleslaw because I love the thousand island dressing but my family loves the coleslaw. The Au Gratin potatoes are perfect and very cheesy. Carson's is one my favorite restaurants.
We had a reservation for 8, and 8 adults were squished into a table for 5-6, and our chairs were touching the chairs of the tables on either side. The bar was directly next to us where people were loudly cheering the Cubs game. There was no place to set down the huge menus when the appetizer arrived so we had to set them in our laps and eat over them. There was no room on the table for all the dishes without removing the bread plates. The food was good and served hot. Too bad we felt like sardines. I love Carson’s BBQ but would hesitate to ever go again with more than 4-5 in our party for fear that the same situation would happen again. Glad we didn’t have any elderly relatives with us.
