Not only did the servers lie about messing up our orders, they charged each credit card (which we said to split the bill on) the full amount, essentially making us pay for the entire meal twice. Then when we corrected their mistake they still charged us the wrong amount on the split bill.
I love coming to Carroll Place for brunch! They have an amazing deal for bottomless brunch and vegan options available. It can get pretty busy, but the buzz of the restaurant is part of the experience. Love it!
We were intrigued by the history and potential of Carroll Place, as we're older graduates of NYU and hung around on Bleecker Street in the late 60s early 70s. However, we also enjoy a good meal appropriately served. This was not to be had on this Saturday night, as my spouse's entree arrived 15 minutes late, having been "lost" in the kitchen. Ultimately, our meals were fulfilling as we kept ordering wine and the food was tasty (when served).
Would we return? We are aficionados of NYC history and Carroll Place advertises as a venue with plenty of NYC history. . . maybe for brunch, where we could relax and view the artifacts on display. Next time!!!
I love Carroll Place. Have been here so many times now and each time I remember why I love this place. The service is great and very accommodating. We felt quite warm sitting by the ovens and it was no problem to move our table on a Saturday evening. This time we got the homemade lasagna, which I have never tried and ... IT WAS AMAZING! It was delicious. I am definitely going to come back soon to have it again.
I highly recommend Carroll Place's bottomless brunch also as it is one of my favorite brunch places in the city.
Really cool atmosphere, but super loud, clubby music that didn’t really match the scene. Good food, service could have been better
Pasta was delicious but service was very slow.
I went with a group of 6.. great experience! The only downside is that the restaurant gets loud. The food was amazing - I highly recommend the omelettes and brunch pizzas. We will definitely be returning soon!
Our waitress Jordan, from Buffalo, was outstanding. The food was good. The place was lively. We had a real nice time.
This spot has great food, drinks, and atmosphere but it was wayyyy too loud - felt like we were in a club and couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you.
Go to place for weekend brunch! I genuinely love going there :)
Great brunch spot!
It was a great atmosphere for getting together with friends! The branzino was delicious!
This place is such a great find.. amazing food and very affordable for a bottomless brunch. I will be returning no doubt!
The pasta dishes were delicious. The service wasn't great. Our server was nice but our pasta came out before our starters and the person who served it didn't seem to understand, so we just took the pasta first.
The food was really good. My only complaint is that the brunch special is not worth it. The drinks are extremely watered down and the waitress would only give us small carafes even though there was 5 people at my table. She was also rarely available when we needed a refill. I used to love coming for brunch but I think I’m the future I will go somewhere else. On top of our poor server, 1 minute after the bill was dropped the hostess came over and told us we needed to get up and head right to the bar because they needed the table. There was 5 other tables open. It was almost like as soon as we paid they didn’t care about us because they got our money and that was all they wanted.
Went here for dinner with my family. The restaurant was fairly loud which wasn’t that big a deal but it was at times hard to hear each other. The food varied - the pizza was good (vegan and regular). The bruschetta with pesto barely had any pesto on it. The ricotta was tasty.
The real disappointment was the linguine with clams and white wine sauce. The sauce was way too diluted, the pasta did not taste fresh and was over cooked, the clams were tiny and overall lacked flavor.
Overall it was decent value for money but probably would choose another place for better pasta.
This was my second time getting brunch at Carroll Place and I've loved it both times! We do the bottomless 2 hr brunch and they are always quick to replenish your drinks which is fabulous. It's very loud + energetic and full of young people.
Great experience! Excellent food, drinks and service. Had the eggs Benedict and friends had eggs Benedict and eggs in purgatory. Everyone loved their food and drinks. We did the bottomless brunch special and everything was great! I can’t wait to go back! 😁❤️
I am almost positive the bruschetta was covered in Mexican salsa. Really bad. I’m so embarrassed I came here.
Great ambiance and tremendous value. Bottomless drinks with a low fixed price is an unbeatable deal in NYC.
Great for brunch! Affordable and fun! Will definitely be back
Get vibe for day drinking, we sat right next to the DJ though so wasn't gr
I went to Carroll Place for the first time this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised! They sat us in the back room, which was right next to a DJ. The noise was so loud that I couldn't even hear the person sitting next to me, so we kindly asked to move to a less noisy area. The team was super nice about it and graciously offered to move us to a spot up front. In addition to being super accommodating, our server was also really amazing. Always smiling, always keeping the drinks flowing and checked in on us regularly. Overall, a wonderful experience and cant wait to visit again!!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and generous with the bottomless brunch. I had the pancetta omelet and really enjoyed it. The fries were delicious too.
Already have recommended this place to everybody in my social network!
Love this place!
Had dinner with a party of 4-no one liked their food and 2/4 people got sick. The food did not come to the table hot, wanted to ask to have it heated up but didnt want it to take extra time. Over priced for what you get, server was nice but didnt make up for the overall experience
Good date spot and fun atmosphere. Highlights were the cheese board and lasagna!
We were there while vacationing, and I had looked up a good place where the menu would fit my teenagers palate, as she’s pretty picky. We split a steak and the fries and I had the cauliflower appetizer and it was amazing!
I wanted to sit outside as we were there around 6:30 which is apparently before the dinner rush for Greenwich. We weren’t able to do so, but I asked if we could sit in the bar area. It was really lovely that evening and I didn’t want the dark ambiance of the dining area in the back( which I’m sure is awesome when it’s cold and dark outside).
The hostess seemed taken back that I wanted to sit up that way, and I was slightly annoyed that she didn’t offer the larger table and sat us at a table fitting only for two folks having drinks only. I guess in the bar area we pick but her demeanor just made the entire ordeal uncomfortable for me.
Regardless, our waitress was delightful and accommodating and let us switch tables so we could actually dine.
Overall a great place and I would recommend it.
Great value but very loud
Delicious food, great drink options, and excellent service. One of my favorite spots in NYC.
Overall it was great! Great ambience, great drinks, great staff. I got pizza and it was a big soggy but other than that, great experience. I’ll definitely be back.
We wanted to experience the village & go somewhere upbeat for our wedding anniversary - we chose Carroll Place based on pictures & reviews & we weren’t disappointed. Cute spot, great for people watching. Fabulous atmosphere & the service was excellent. We were seated upstairs where the only complaint is that we couldn’t see downstairs or outside (no windows) but it was much quieter than the noisy bar downstairs so we appreciated that & the beautiful decor. But the food was delicious, drink selection impressive & the place was very lively & fun.
Excellent restaurant in SoHo. Solid foot, bread service and upbeat atmosphere!!
Overall we loved. Food, ambience and service was really well. Only thing that was kind of an annoyance was they cleared everything so quickly as if they were rushing you to get out. Even when there was still some food on the plate. Other then that, no complaints.
The food the environment was wonderful! The service could use some improvement. The waiters were going over my guest to serve the food instead of going around the table.
Great spot for Brunch. One of the Cheapest, if not the Cheapest, Bottomless spots in the area. 2 hours all you can drink Sangria, Bloody Mary's or Mimosas plus an Entree included (some extra $). Great spot and definitely will return.
Cocktails and cheese plate were fantastic. Entrees were average. The salmon was cooked well but no seasoning so kind of bland. The NY strip was just a terrible cut; half was fat and not edible. Should have went with pasta or pizza.
It was great our server Sophia was awesome and excellent at her job. And I will come again in the future. This was my first time here and it set the mood.
