Food was great but it was impossible to get the waiters attention. I’m sure they were understaffed or something so I don’t actually blame the server but it just took so long to get seated and so long to get our order taken even though we had a reservation.
Great spot! Enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere! Friendly and considerate service too.
If you’re going to get any dish. Get the clam pasta. Perfectly seasoned!
Great, friendly, and fast service. Great brunch deal!
They always have good food but it’s hard to hear the people you’re with because the music is so loud. Waitress was friendly but the wait staff makes you feel a bit rushed swooping in the second the final slice was picked up. Brick oven pizza and tasty pasta though and the flavors are great. Cocktails are OK. Go for a bottle of wine. I would recommend for a fun night out for dinner with friends but not for a date night.
We came in on the Sunday after Christmas. It was a bit quiet which was good as we could really enjoy the discussion. The food as great. I had pasta al ragu and they were very tasty. The room temperature could have been higher though.
Excellent food! Pizza was fantastic
Very disappointing. There were tables inside and in the outside heated area but we were only offered a table that was on the street. The tables continued to remain empty and we we told they were reserved. We made a reservation too so I am not sure what else we could have done to be seated in the heated outside area at least. Overall, felt pointless making a reservation and we got a couple of drinks in the cold but ended up walking to a much more warm comfortable neighboring bar.
Great experience, booked a large table for a party and they had it all set up nicely in the outdoor area like requested. Would recommend to anyone!
The bottomless experience is wonderful, and food quality was great!
By far the worst place and service I have ever had in NYC. We were first told we probably would not get synchronised food service for our orders because they have 2 separate kitchens. My dining companion received his starter and main course within 25mns of arriving- meanwhile, I had nothing. I had to ask 3 TIMES for the status of my order- eventually the only thing that seems to have moved the needle a tad was asking to speak to the manager who arrived with my food at 9 pm (we were there since 7.30pm)- the excuse given was they had to make the dish 'from scratch'...really? a supposedly Italian restaurant has to make ragu sauce for fresh pasta from scratch on a Saturday night? PLEASE.At no point was I even offered something to munch on whilst waiting. The food was bad, the service worse.
Food was okay, not bad but nothing very special. The service was pretty bad, though — admittedly we went after SantaCon and apparently the Santa’s cleaned them out of a lot!! But even the baseline service was kind of terrible—we were a party of three and only had two silverware sets. We asked for a third and never received it. The food arrived (quickly, but cold, as though they mass-prepped and had it ready), and again we asked for another silverware set, but never got it. Eventually I grabbed one myself from a table that was unoccupied, only to return and find that the busboy who had delivered our last plate for some reason decided to take a napkin that we had already — so we had to take another from a neighboring table!! Same thing happened with a wine glass — one of them was cleared without asking us, we ordered more wine and requested a replacement glass, it didn’t come until we had asked three more times. The meal took 2.5 hours, we would have stayed for probably 1.5 or 2 max, but with all the waiting for our waiter to get back around to us, it really stretched the experience out. He never actually checked on us of his own accord, but every time only came over if we had been trying to flag him down for 10 minutes. Not worth it — better Italian with better service and comparable prices is out there!
Very good food. Noisy, but great place to go with friends for tasty pizza and pasta
we sat outside, i felt like the waitress forgot about us for a bit but we made sure we got our moneys worth. we did the bottomless brunch. definitely worth it!
We were quite disappointed in the service we experienced here. One of us got to the reservation a few minutes early & our waitress sat us down & told us our "clock for the bottomless" started right away. The app does say there is a 15 minute grace period & the first person in our party did arrive early with everyone else on time so that was not a welcoming way to start off our brunch. We felt rushed from the beginning when we spent almost 2hrs there & there were multiple empty tables the entire time. Next, we sat outside & our table was extremely dirty, when we asked our waitress if she could wipe down the table she said no. Third, we sat outside & understand the streets can get busy but there were so many people waiting huddled around our table I had people brushing up against me while trying to eat. I would expect someone from the restaurant to at least tell everyone where to wait & not interfere with people currently sitting down. The best thing about the brunch was the food, mimosas were decent. Probably would not dine here again.
Food was great, vibes were immaculate and staff was super nice
I really wanted to drop a 5 for Carroll Place because it has the potential. The vibe and ambience was awesome. The food was really good as well but 2 of our 4 orders was served to us cold. The service was really slow as well and we weren’t checked on that often. It was obvious our 2 meals were sitting around for awhile because the first two came out piping hot. 15 minutes later the other 2 came. Not sure why there was such a delay and not better timing on the food being prepared. The other tables also seemed to get more attention.
Brunch here is always fun-bottomless of course. Great service and food
Food took over an hour and a half to come out, they forced us to do. prixe fixe menu even though we were only 7 people, we barely saw the waiters, took 15-20 minutes for the drinks to come when we did see them, the table next to us got seated at 10:30 and they had their food and drinks within 15 minutes, they claimed it was because they just ordered pizza, yet we also ordered pizza and it still took longer. The reservation was at 8:45, we ordered around 9:15/9:20 and at 10:45 we still didn't have our entrees. We had to be somewhere at 11:00PM, so we scarfed down our food at 10:50PM and did not even get to have the desert. The waitress was nice and finally got the manager over, but overall, we were not checked up on or cared for throughout our time in the restaurant, and by the time we were accommodated, the service and experience had already been terrible beyond repair.
There was a blonde manager there that was speaking very rudely to our waitress when adjusting our table placement. He was very unprofessional and rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. We were upstairs this past Saturday with a party of 8. Both ladies that helped our table were very pleasant however l
AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! The lasagna was so great! Telling all my friends about it.
Extremely rushed service
Great food and great service!!!
Our party of 10 had a great time and really enjoyed the family style set up. The start of the meal was a little slow but otherwise we would recommend for all size groups
Carroll Place is a super cozy restaurant that was perfect for a family dinner. They took my food allergies seriously, which is much appreciated.
The hosts were incredibly rude and made us want to leave immediately. We heard other diners at the table next to us also complaining about their poor attitude and lack of service.
they made us do family dining style because it was a big group, but the food was undercooked and overpriced. would not go there again.
Great food. We sat outside under a heater. Great staff and service. Good menu choice so something for everyone.
Server was pretty rude, sangria and bloody Mary’s tasted super gross, mimosas and food were good
Great food, absolutely terrible service. Felt like they were making it up as they went. There is a separate dining room away from the bar and they inexplicably dialed up the volume all the way to 10 in the dining room which made it impossible to enjoy.
Loved the family style brunch! Enough food for everyone
Food was alright but the bottomless deal is terrific for manhattan! Great time for a big group of friends!
The food was good but came out cold and when we told our server he just took it off the check and didn’t offer to warm it up or anything. Also sat waiting for a server for over 20 mins before we asked someone to get our waiter.
It was lovely. Sat outside and it was great
I have never met a staff that was more rude, obnoxious or with a chip on their shoulder. I understand things are busy but the bartender, hostesses and even the bud boys had an attitude- asking them a question or to do their job seemed like a major inconvenience. Never going back
Entrees arrived 15 minutes apart after we asked a few people about the late order. My entree was just OK. Vibe great if a frat party is your only point of reference.
The hostess and our waitress seemed to be angry that we dared to go here. Also, if you can, do not sit in the back room. It has very low ceilings and the sound bounces right back making it very loud. Try to sit in the front. However, the food was really good and pretty cheap.
Great aesthetic including the bar area. We ordered several pasta dishes that were all amazing.
The outdoor dining was warm and pleasant even though it was a rainy day. The plants were all dead and needed attention. Many outdoor dining places were much better in ambience. Food was good.
Service was very slow but food was truly so so good!
