Quick fun and good
Good for cocktails and dinner before going out
So average. Food was not worth the price. I ordered the fresh pasta, pasta was good but sauce was so bland. Our waiter checked in on us once and we requested more ketchup and water and he never brought it. The only thing he was prompt at bringing was the check.
Came for bottomless. The food was really good and the pricing was reasonable. The serving sizes were large. I had the eggs benedict which came with fries and a small salad. Main complaint was the waitress. We only saw her to take our order. Every time we needed a refill, we had to flag down someone. She just really seemed like she didn't want to be there. Definitely would come back, but would want a different server.
No one in this restaurant looked like they wanted to be there….were talking and shooting the sh*t with each other but we had to say something after sitting for 20 min and no one coming to our table. We had asked if ALL had to do bottomless as only 2 people in our party wanted to do that and then the waitress decided on her own accord that we were all bottomless. The drinks were superrrrr weak and when we asked to make a basic shot, they were so confused. Said that their bartender doesn’t come in until later. They had to look up the shot (literally took 4 of them to do so). Just zero personality from the staff so Idk if something major had happened that morning but the vibe was OFF.
Waitress barely checked in and had to flag her down for additional drinks each time. The small plates were delicious - rosemary wings and sliders, but the entrees were unimpressive. The salmon was mediocre and the burger shouldn’t even exist on their menu it was so sad. Would love to have drinks on a night with live entertainment, otherwise the experience was ok and overall unimpressive
We went out as a family for dinner. When we arrived we waited over 10 min before the waitress approached the table. She was apologetic, but this was the theme of the evening. I am guessing they are understaffed, but they still command top dollar for their food so they should find a way to make everyone feel taken care of.
The food was good, very good fresh pasta. Overall, we would go again, just hope they add staff.
Great food and service. Pretty busy so definitely make a reservation
We will never again attempt to dine at Carroll Place. We made reservations ahead of time on OpenTable, and was reconfirmed again the night before. We checked the websites that said OPEN. We caught an Uber specifically to go there and when we arrived, it was dark and closed. We called Carroll Place directly and the recording stated the restaurant should be open. The signs in the restaurant stated that it should be open as well. There were no closure signs of any kind. This is the one of the most unprofessional and inconsiderate things a restaurant could do. I would rate it 0 stars if possible. I want to also comment that OpenTable is responsible for this lack of communication and unprofessionalism.
Food was okay. Service was pretty bad. We had to ask 3 times to get water and twice for mayo.
drinks were super watered down. food was ok. the table they sat us at was way too small. overall, not worth the price.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary on 9/26. He forgot his vaccine card therefore we couldn’t dine indoors which no problem. Thankfully they have space available outside. We had a terrible experience. Our waitress was so rude, didn’t even greet us, she just said “you doing bottomless?” With an attitude, brought out the wrong drink and on top of that we kept having to ask for things like cups and utensils. She had such a rude attitude and it completely ruined our mood for the day which is why I’m writing this review bc that wasn’t ok. We went there about 7 years ago on our first date and chose to come back for our anniversary but after that experience, we will NOT be returning.
Very loud restaurant with passable cuisine. Certainly not anything to write home about
Food was delicious but many bottles on the wine list were unavailable.
Not great for kids. Took our two little ones around 615 and they couldn’t have tried to push us out any faster. Food was bland and pretty flavorless.
The food and service are consistently good at Carroll Place. My favorite dish is the orecchiette with sausage. My girlfriend enjoyed the hanger steak with truffle fries. The California chardonnay, Jeanne Maria, was buttery.
All in all, I would recommend Carroll Place for its welcoming atmosphere. Great place for a date because the sound level is not overwhelming.
OBSESSED! The penne alla vodka was amazing.
Checkout took 30 minutes
Usually good but my eggs came out cold
If you want a place with flair and ambiance, plus great food without breaking the bank, then you should go to Carroll Place.
Good for groups if you don't mind noise. Friendly staff. Food is fine.
Great food, great cocktails, great prices. Perfect spot for a double date.
Food was amazing and the staff was so nice!!! We will be coming back.
Definitely geared towards people who like club music (ahem, young people?) as music was pumping loudly onto the street and throughout the restaurant. Our hostess did sit us in a cozy alcove, which we enjoyed, which leads me to the service, which was very good and very fast. We were there for brunch and it served the purpose. We opted not for the bottomless pitchers, this time, but most seemed to be enjoying this option. If you don't like anchovies, don't get the Caesar salad (my bad, not theirs), as it was pretty potent, but the salads were very healthy portions and my friend enjoyed her Mesclun Greens very much. We both got pizzas, which didn't take long (depends on how busy they are). My friend enjoyed her Pugliese; I ordered the Rucola because I love arugula, and it did not disappoint, essentially a 2nd salad! It was very tasty, but super hard to eat, as the crust was soggy. I'd go again but try different dishes.
We love it here and come often.
the staff was rude and non attentive
I usually come to Carroll Place Pretty frequently. And as of late it seems they are just hiring horrible wait staff. I really don’t want to say it’s a race thing, but whenever I come with friends from my community the service always seems to be bad, however when I come with people who live around the lower east side or the village the service seems to be great. I’m Spanish and my friend who I came with yesterday was black. We waited over an hour after sitting for our orders to be taken. Everyone who sat after us got their orders and food before the waiter even came to us. After this last experience I won’t be going back anymore
Perfect late night spot for a group of friends. Loud, energetic music. We sat outside but inside was a whole different vibe. Service was not stellar but the ambience of the space made up for it. Ultimately, great drinks and a cute and lively space to hang out for the evening.
All was well
Carroll Place was a great spot for dinner while in the Village to help our NYU student move in to school for the year. The food & service were great (try the ribs!), and the space is large and comfortable. Definitely recommended!
Food was very good, the service was excellent and the drinks were of course very good. Slightly loud but not in a bad way, will be coming back at some point. Great atmosphere as well.
It was an amazing brunch! Plenty of drinks for a great time. Friendly staff!
Food and staff were Incredible!! Would definitely come back!!
Drinks and Food was delicious and the waiter was extremely accommodating
Great place for groups! A little loud but that added to the fun. Food was delicious.
Cute little spot. Good food and good value. Younger crowd, NYU students.
Fun vibe, great bloodies, and pub food. Def a good place to go with friends.
Staff was unnecessarily rude
Server was very short with us, but overall great, as always. Favorite brunch spot in all of NYC.
My friends and I had brunch for my birthday on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was not very friendly or attentive. Four of the five of us ordered the bottomless brunch special, as our fifth friend has allergies to fruits and was not able to drink any of the bottomless options. Our server did not know what fruit juices were used in the drinks and refused to offer our friend another drink option, so our friend did not drink anything due to her allergies. The check came and we were charged for five bottomless and when we addressed this with the server she insisted everyone at the table had to participate unless someone was underage or pregnant. Apparently an allergy is not an exception to this rule. Our server talked to the manager and “made an exception this one time but we would be charged in the future.” We were only charged for what we actually ordered. It was a disappointing experience. Restaurants must be mindful of allergies and make accommodation. People should not be charged for something they are unable to consume due to an allergy.
