My friends and I had brunch for my birthday on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was not very friendly or attentive. Four of the five of us ordered the bottomless brunch special, as our fifth friend has allergies to fruits and was not able to drink any of the bottomless options. Our server did not know what fruit juices were used in the drinks and refused to offer our friend another drink option, so our friend did not drink anything due to her allergies. The check came and we were charged for five bottomless and when we addressed this with the server she insisted everyone at the table had to participate unless someone was underage or pregnant. Apparently an allergy is not an exception to this rule. Our server talked to the manager and “made an exception this one time but we would be charged in the future.” We were only charged for what we actually ordered. It was a disappointing experience. Restaurants must be mindful of allergies and make accommodation. People should not be charged for something they are unable to consume due to an allergy.
Pizza and fries were excellent; sadly the Burrata was smashed and seemed like something regurgitated. Service was great and ambience was chill and very speakeasy, vibrant and old NY. Bring dollar bills for bathroom attendant.
Had several different waiters because our assigned waitress was M.I.A. Even with a reservation we were not told there was a time limit for our table and was made to feel rushed. Manager assured us we would welcome to stay but the waitress did not make us feel that way.
Great food and service. I had a breakfast pizza I’d never eaten before, and it was delicious.
Great food, service was terrific and the deal was amazing. It was a bit unorganized getting to our table but that’s to be expected post COVID.
This was the absolute worst service experience I have ever had. The food was good and that is the only redeeming quality of this restaurant. It was my birthday and I cried at the table from the frustration.
Luckily, we were seated at our reservation time (which by looking at other reviews apparently doesn't always happen??). However, it took 15 minutes for anyone to greet our party to offer water or take our drink orders. We were a party of 8 so we were required to do the family style meal which was fine and we knew that going into it.
When it came to order drinks, they were "out" of 2 of the cocktails and when we asked what ingredient they didnt have the waitress just repeated that it was out with no explanation. When asked what they had that was similar she said they didnt have any similar drinks ???? what? were you out of 1 ingredient? all of the ingredients? no transparency there at all.
When we tried to order our starters they were out of the burrata and we had to make a different selection, one person in our party is gluten free and the only other option was the cheese board (extra $5 pp and asked for that to be additional charge to be waived, that request was denied by the "manager" even though it is their fault that the burrata wasn't available).
Upon paying the bill, the burrata was still on the check even though it was "out" and we never got it. We had noticed after the card was swiped and the "manager" who looked about 11 years old said there was nothing they could do....??? I wasn't going to complain to them but after the terrible experience I saw him on the way out and nicely asked to have a word. He did not apologize for the experience once and basically gas lit me saying that things that happened did not happen. He also blamed everything I said on a "different manager".
Overall, the absolute WORST dining experience I have ever had & thankfully the rooftop bar we went to after this terrible restaurant was spectacular and redeemed the night
Great food and ambience. Really enjoyed our time at the restaurant with family. Nice family place
Very nice. Great service and atmosphere! Food was good and prices were reasonable. Will def go back!
We had amazing bottomless with them. They kept up with pitchers and there was an awesome dj!
It was very nice, good food and decent prices. Only downside was on the brunch drinks, we all had to drink the same drink, even though we were willing to pay for a single Bloody Mary for one guest, music a little too loud, but we sat upstairs so it was tolerable. Hoping if we come during the week, it’ll be quieter
Great food. Great service. Loved the pizza would def recommend getting it. The wings were amazing as well. Staff was super knowledgeable and attentive. Awesome vibe.
Unfortunately it was an awful experience. We arrived around 5 pm, placed was completely empty. Our waitress unfortunately was not knowledgeable in regards to the food and drink menu I asked questions about the drinks and she didn’t seem to know any of them, no problem no big deal I said perhaps and she is just new so I let it go. We ordered one margaritas pizza lasagna and spaghetti Pomodoro. Over 45 minutes went by no food. By them my drink and two lemonades for the kids were done and over with Our waitress was very busy chatting with the rest of the staff that seemed to be very bored by the lack of customers So everyone was just outside talking and laughing. Tried several times to get someone’s attention to ask about our food but as I said too busy talking I didn’t want to be a &@&! so I let it go An hour later food arrived My pizza was cold so was the lasagna The spaghetti noodles were hard as a rock undercooked lack of flavor almost no sauce in it And you say where was the waitress ? Yeap talking Never came back to offer more drinks nor to ask about our food
My kids didn’t want to return the food because they were hungry and it was going to take another hour, so we ate plain cold undercooked food with a glass of water since we had nothing else to drink. Another waitress passed by l, so I asked for the check paid over 95 dollars plus tip for an awful food.
I usually don’t write this type of reviews, and I have a lot of respect for anyone who works with public because I know is difficult, but there is a different between a difficult customer and a “ I don’t care type of waitress” She was not new, she just have social life as a priority rather than doing her job right.
I hope she reads the review and learns from constructive criticism.
When we arrived the restaurant was closed with no notice.
Hate to leave bad reviews BUT I have a dairy allergy (no it’s not a choice) and they served my pizza with real cheese and I did not realize until I took a bite and realized it was real cheese. The server had absolutely nothing to say other than “I’m pretty sure it is vegan cheese but I’ll ask the kitchen” 20 minutes later i get a new pizza that is very clearly vegan cheese. She did not apologize, or say anything. I understand people don’t see dairy as a severe allergy sometimes but it is. After she gave me my pizza she didn’t come back except to tell us we had 5 minutes left at our table. I know boozy brunch places are very laid back and i don’t expect much but it would have been nice to acknowledge they served someone real cheese who is allergic to it.
The food was really good although they did mess up one of the orders. But they made up for it by taking the charge off. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and we could not have asked for better service from her.
I had such a great time! And it was super affordable as well!
Great place for a large group
Server vas not knowledgeable about speciality cocktails and drinks, Managament needs to train servers about all the product’s available to the customers and this way they can upsell, plus there was no coordination between servers , one brings me the check to pay the bill, and I am sill waiting for my dessert and caffe order. We ordered appetizer which never show up at our table, but they bring our main course. Again server was not attentive about our order.
Lovely place ,great dinner,perfect prices
The food was pretty good. When we showed up they said the menu was family style and that the hostess told me that on the phone, when no one has told me prior to arriving. The service wasn’t great and the servers didn’t seem to care too much for our table.
Needed a last minute dinner after getting to NYC. Was very happy with Carroll Place. Very nice, casual vibe. The truffle fries were great. We both enjoyed our pasta. Service was good, a teeny bit slow at very end, but I think we are all still getting back into the groove so we weren’t upset.
Had a table of 8 of us, found out that we had to use the family style menu (40$ a pop plus substitutions and drinks) but would’ve been nice knowing before we booked and spent two hundred a person when it could’ve been 50-60pp altogether with regular menu . Excellent service otherwise and the boys enjoyed the night: ambiance was fun and the layout was well planned out. Food was great and good wine selection.
Amazing ambiance, we got to sit in the back room. The food was outstanding, the noise level high/fun/busy/lively and it’s great to be back outside and indoors. Service was impeccable!
I'm actually not huge on Italian food, but this was really solid. I had the spaghetti bolognese, brussels sprouts, and a cocktail; my date had the pappardelle. Both of our dishes were about as "light" as pasta dishes can be, and the pasta tasted fresh and deliciously chewy. Sauces were balanced and flavorful. The cocktail was mixed really well; couldn't even tell that it was alcoholic, honestly. Only thing I didn't love was the noise level, but pretty much every other party seemed to be really into the loud music, so whatevs
So happy to be back here, just as good as last time
Seating was great, and even with a full service the service was quick! All of the food was excellent. We want to go back next time we are in the area.
Loved the brunch experience and thank you for accommodating our one guest that had allergies
Food & service was amazing! A little too loud for my preference but I would come again
Had a great late afternoon brunch on Pride! The playlist was on point and the food was delicious. Especially the wings! It was so easy to reserve and communication was great up to my guests arrival. Our server was charming but quite hard to get a hold of over the music on the patio, but that’s to be expected on such a crazy festive day. So glad my first post-vaccine and quarantine meal was a bottomless sangria brunch at Carroll. Till next time!
Service was amazing. So great
It’s predominantly a younger crowd and the rooms are very loud. This made it difficult for our server to correctly hear our orders and a couple of items came out wrong. Additionally, it’s quite dark so I didn’t realize my order was wrong until I had a mouthful of meat sauce (I’m a 30+ year vegetarian). Once they got it right though, the food was good. The pasta dish was light and fresh, the kale Cesar was excellent, and the shrimp scampi small plate my wife had was well prepared. Bottom line, it’s a decent, affordable (hence the younger crowd?) option on Bleeker. Don’t get me wrong, I like loud sh*t, but being in my 40s, the noise level of customers yelling over each other was not enjoyable.
The food was delicious and the service was good. It was a little loud, so not the best place for a quiet meal, but for our group of 6, it was a nice lively atmosphere.
Great atmosphere energetic and young but food was nothing super special
Service was on point. Good drinks a bit pricy though
The food was alright but I’m sure people are coming here mainly for the booze! Served right sway but didn’t offer choices like they said on the menu. We were told only mimosa is available.
I had vegan pizza which was just okay, not cheesy enough I felt like I was eating just bread.
Service was attentive.
The food was so delicious and the place is super cute. The music was crazy loud and we had to yell across the table but we had such a great time.
The fries were really good but they only have cow's milk which is so weird hhaha. I think there are better places in the city for brunch.
The food was pretty good, but went greeted at our table for about 25-30 minutes.
We we're really excited for bottomless bloody mary's and we're disappointed that they advertised them, they we're on the menu and they weren't there. Great time otherwise tho!
Great spot for a date or dinner with a friend! Food and service is always great.
