Cocktail menu was limited, unimaginative and too sweet. Food and service were mediocre. Would not go back.
We found much better cocktails around the corner at 21st Amendment! It’s not fancy but the drinks and service were excellent!
Great pre-theatre dinner, super friendly service. Easy walk through Boston Common to Opera House.
Amazing place. Awesome cocktails. Food great and staff could not have been better.
The inside of this place is really kool. Especially the speakeasy bar. The staff are all so nice but the food was not good. I had pan seared tuna and my husband had the sirloin steak both were tasteless. Maybe they are just known for bar food. You should def go and check it out for drinks but I would eat before.
Nice venue, very good food. Skipped the cocktails since this was a business lunch but have had excellent cocktails here before.
Ended up at CN for Saturday brunch. Quiet and comfortable. Snuck to the speakeasy area. Super cool! Will plan to go back soon
Great service, really great food, cool space. A rather limited menu for Pescatarians - and very limited for vegetarians. But seriously delicious and the service was outstanding.
Really loved this place. The drinks were a little on the weak side, but the food was fantastic. Loved the ambiance. It was quiet when I was there, but it was a Wednesday night so not even half the tables were filled. Not sure about noise level when they are busy. Would highly recommend.
The staff was incredible. My wife and I got there early and beat the rush. They treated us so well, checking up on us without being overbearing. Food was great, and the atmosphere even better.
Finishing our vacation and was looking forward to this dinner due to the website advertising a speakeasy and jazz. We spent time having dinner then moved to the soeakeasy. Ariana Grande and JayZ is all we heard during dinner and at the soeakeasy. The food was fine and as was the service but if you’re looking for what’s advertised on the website with regards to atmosphere, note it’s not as advertised.
Fabulous waitress and host staff, beautiful decor. Food was good.
Love going here. Frank is amazing and always takes care of us. Kevin was our server and was AMAZING. We will definitely be coming back to dine and enjoy everything Carrie Nation has to offer! Thank you so much for the unforgettable dinner :)
In charming Beacon Hill neighborhood. Loved the Salmon dinner. Very reasonably priced restaurant especially for the area, with great service, nice ambiance.
We were surprised at how quiet it was for a Saturday night but we had an early reservation (6:30). We were in Boston for a mini-vacation and were expecting crowds like we had seen in the North End and by the water. We had a lovely table with no one around. The waitress was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and very well priced. We would definitely go back.
What a beautiful place!! We had a pleasant time, food and service were good.
We hit this hot spot at just the right time: 5:30 on July 3, just before the Boston Pops concert on the Esplanade. It was quiet enough to have easy conversation, our service provider, Andrew was very attentive and relaxed, and everyone in our party of four found drinks and dishes to make us very happy! I love Carrie Nation any time of the week.
Great food and service.
Carrie Nation is a great venue for a business lunch. It is comfortable, the food is very good, it is reasonable priced, and the space is nicely appointed.
Fun vibe and decent food for value. Lighting set really dark early on a summer night.
Great meal! Everything we ate was delicious. Appetizer to dessert were all big hits. Calamari, Macaroni and cheese, steak were so good! Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. The history of this place is not to be missed when visiting Boston. Take a peek at the prohibition era room in the back. Highly recommend.
Very nice birthday celebration luncheon at Carrie Nation. Cobb salads were outstanding and the pecan dessert was incredible!
I recommend as a bar not a restaurant. Food is not good.
It was perfect. Niamh was amazing and made as feel right at home
Great restaurant with a refreshing old Boston feel instead of all the plain and clean line establishments out there in the city. Cocktails are fantastic, fairly priced and boozy. Fun Place.
Service was nonexistent to minimal. Food was over cooked and tasteless.
Interesting venue and surprisingly delicious with lots of choices. Shared the fried cauliflower app which was wonderful. Flank steak was great as was the Pork 3 ways. We would recommend should you be in the Beacon Hill area.
Had a fabulous time celebrating a bachelorette party
Great experience with great food and service!
I would recommend going to Carrie Nation for drinks but not for the food.
We ordered the calimari and the charcuterie plate for apps, calimari was excellent, charcuterie plate was just ok, small quantities of not very exciting meats and cheeses, the menu said it came with pate, but ours did not. I had the warm spinach salad which was really excellent and the poke which was quite good. the cocktails on the menu were good, but they were all way on the sweet end, with no specialty cocktails on the less sweet or bitter end.
overall, good food, good drinks good service, but not blown away. would go again.
What a hidden gem! A perfect ambiance for a date night, the waitress could tell we were on a date and even asked if we wanted to move to a round booth which was nice and romantic. A fun speakeasy vibe with good strong cocktails and some great flatbreads!
We really enjoyed ourselves. The food, drink and atmosphere were great. Thank you!!
Kevin, the waiter, was fantastic! Very friendly and accommodating. The maitre d however, was just the opposite. Made a 9:30 reservation. Arrived a couple minutes late. The lobby was a literal ghost town! There was an older gentleman scoffing down an entree in the side dining room. Didn’t look up once. I either assumed he was the maitre d or the food was excellent! I started saying “hello. Anyone here?” He continued to scoff down his meal! I finally had my date call the restaurant. It wasn’t until the THIRD CALL the very hungry gentleman (who was the maitre d) got up from his meal which was now a plate that looked licked clean! When I informed him I had a reservation for 9:30, his rather annoyed sounding response was “You do know the kitchen closes at 10?” He sat us. The food was great and as I previously stated, Kevin the waiter was phenomenal! My suggestion is to send your maitre d to charm school or have him eat his dinner privately!
We had an absolutely fabulous experience at Carrie Nation, the cocktails were outstanding, incredibly original and delicious. Our server, Emma G., was an absolute sweetheart who made sure we were looked after the whole time. The atmosphere is really cool, the speakeasy in the back has a great vibe. I would absolutely recommend Carrie Nation for a fun night out!
Kevin was great
The drinks were great, the food was fabulous , and the staff provide a wonderful dining experience. The Maitre D definitly does a great job
Great for drinks and cocktails with excellent ambiance. Live music there is often fun.
However, I would not recommend for food: the menu is a short, strange assortment of foods that aren't that great
Salmon was undercooked.
The food was very good. Will definitely go back. The only down side was I asked for 1 ice cube in my old fashioned and they charged me $3 for ice!!! For an ice cube! Maybe if it was the best old fashioned I’ve ever had I could look the other way, it was not. It was good, not great.
