Great lunch spot. Loved being able to get reservations, and it was very quiet. The menu has a wide variety and our waitress accommodated for our preferences. The drinks are delish!
Frank was so friendly from the start. We had a reservation for dinner . I had reserved a bigger table for my birthday. He made sure all night that we were taken care of. The food was amazing and drinks really good too! My friends had a blast as well . Dj was good but it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t hear your friends talk which was nice
Very, very loud! Tasty but weak drinks.
The white bean dip was awesome! Highly recommended. Nice place to go to get some drinks and light food.
Awesome ambience and food selection. Very reasonably priced.
Too loud. Good food
Service was super slow even though there weren’t that many customers there. One of our apps was undercooked and one of the drinks was flat instead of bubbly.
Service was unnecessary lacking, we were one of four tables at the time of seating. The server was blah, he got to us when he felt like it. There was over 10 minutes from sitting down until we were asked for drinks, was not impressed. Also, not a single smile to be found. The server assistant on the other hand was sweet as could be and she was simply presenting and removing our plates. Food was fantastic, drinks were great.
Nice place for dinner before a show. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We were seated very quickly. Service was a bit slow, but worked with our timeline so it wasn’t an issue. Food was wonderful! Fresh and well seasoned. Portions were good, as were the prices. Overall a very happy with our choice and would absolutely go back.
The food was incredible and the service was too. I loved the ambiance and decor and the drinks were great. Definitely one of my new favorite places and I can’t wait to go back.
Great cocktails, food was good. Ambiance was great - was there early so was quiet not sure if it gets louder when busier. Will definitely go again!
Carrie Nation was hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in Boston
No complaints, it was real quiet and low key. Good service, food, and drinks
We were one of three families dining and the service was terrible. They kept saying they were understaffed, but they never came by the table unless we called them over.
Excellent. Glad we had reservations!
The food was delicious - we had the baked brie appetizer, the BBQ bowl, and the pork trio. The service, however, was really terrible. I waited almost 15 minutes at the host stand - was addressed momentarily and told a table was ready, but then made to wait another 12 minutes. The host was gone most of the time. There was a large holiday party there, and they seemed to have the full attention of the staff. The waiter also disappeared for long periods of time and seemed completely annoyed anytime we needed anything.
Quick take: Food and ambiance were great, service was atrocious.
Meh. Had heard lots of good things, the experience did not live up to what I had heard. Server was, to be nice, in the wrong profession. Will try again, maybe it was a bad day.
My Co-workers and I had a very enjoyed Holiday lunch.
Delicious and the staff was so accommodating! The show we attended prior to dinner got out late, and the staff was so kind to alter our reservation without issue. Delicious cocktails with super satisfying food!
Food was great! We modified a few dishes and everything came out exactly how we asked. The ambiance was also really very nice. I was surprised by how nice the atmosphere was for such reasonable prices. Will definitely go back.
It was ok. Not terrible, not great. Food was ok, but nothing to boast about. This is a good, centrally located place to go, if you want a drink or two, and maybe something to nosh on. A good place to meet friends after work. Service was good. I wouldn't avoid going here again...but it wouldn't be on my must-return list. Meh.....
Loved the theme. The inside is pretty dark, which made the menu difficult to read but set the ambiance of 1920s very well. The drinks were too strong and didn't have much flavor but the food and service was excellent.
My girlfriend and I had a 8:30 reservation. We always show up early to ask about the restaurant and we had a nice conversation with the host. It's a weird restaurant that plays on the 1920s speak easy theme.
The server was nice but when asked for cocktaik recommendations, she suggested two health drinks (green tea and carrot puré). Which I found to be a very odd suggestion.
Overall the food was good, about average for the restaurants nearby. The atmosphere in the main dining area was nice, the place was very well done and had a nice amount of historical decore which entertained us after dinner.
My food was a bit late but the waitress was very apologetic and compensated by giving us some tasty bread which wasn't necessary at all.
Cool place, would recommend.
We had a great dinner with friends. Our waiter was eager for us to order, which we understood since our reservations was at 7pm on a Friday. It would have been nice if he gave us a little more space to decide on drinks and apps.
The service was terrible. We were seated in a room all by itself and the server was never around and forgot about us. I had to go looking for her because on of the burgers was still raw!! I would not recommend it here. The service was terrible.
I'm so glad I chose Carrie Nation for a quick, pre-Orpheum dinner. This will now be my go-to in the area. While the menu is not extensive, it covers a lot of territory and a lot of price points to satisfy a causal or a full multi-course meal. I also love the ambiance, the spacious dining room and even-more-spacious back bar. this being my first visit, I did not test the kitchen with anything out-of-the-ordinary, but the flatbread pizza was a good size and perfectly acceptable. The wine list is OK, but I feel their wheelhouse are in craft cocktails. Look for an update after my next visit!
Excellent night! Ashley was the best! Food was great too!
I really liked this restaurant! The ambience, food, and drinks are great! Maybe the staff could've been a bit more friendly, but it didn't bother me either.
Living in New York, I must say that the noise level was perfect! Good, party music but we still had no trouble hearing each other.
Perfect for dates or friends getting together!
Authentic speakeasy with great menu, great service. Kevin, our server, was very friendly and a good conversationalist with great drink recommendations. Prices are reasonable for downtown.
Yale Harvard game at Fenway.
Delicious food and drinks! Great service and the perfect place to go for a drink or a good meal.
Food was blah for he price
Amazing food! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Fast and delicious!
The host / team at Carrie Nation was amazing. We were celebrating my sister's 30th Birthday and they made it amazing by giving us a prime seat in the back bar. Service was good, drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect to celebrate a birthday!
Food was good not great. Martinis were served in a two different sized glasses, one small one normal sized. When asked I was told they were the same size. Yeah no.
I would not go out of my way for Carrie Nation.
There are reasons to like Carrie Nation. It has a nice trendy atmosphere and food is a good value. Service has always been decent and always someone pleasant on the eyes around.
Reasons not to like? As you would expect from a place located at the crossroads between the legal and financial sectors, there are plenty of douchebags that start their night off here (and end it at 21st Amendment or Beacon Hill Pub).
I actually think you’re a great setting for a group (family?) fun setting but a reasonable price
This is a great place before going to the theatre or a concert because the service was prompt (almost to fast). Enjoy the CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE!!!!!!
Great spot for a date. Meet for a drink in the speakeasy, play a round of pool, then go to the dining room for a nice dinner
This is a strange place. Apparently they host Drag Queen brunches on Sundays, which I imagine are loads of fun. But it was a weird place to have an early Sunday dinner. That said, the food was way better than we expected! Delicious mussels, squash bowl, salmon with lentils and roast chicken. Fair prices
