Carolina Seafood & Steak
It was ok, but the food could have been a tiny bit warmer than served and the steak had a diverse taste about it so I didn’t know how I felt about that. Everything else that was served was pretty good though.
The staff was VERY accommodating but the food was just awful. One person sent ribs back and one person ate 1/3 of the crab Mac and cheese which was very salty and dry. Another person ate half of a chicken and pasta dish. Another person had the steak and lobster combo. Steak was labeled “just ok” and the lobster tail could not have been bigger than 3 oz. Apple pie tasted like fast food pie and the key lime pie served in a martini glass was beyond terrible. We should have known better when the parking lot was empty! DON’T EAT HERE!!!
The food was mostly good. New York strip steak was excellent, and cooked right. The pizza was pretty good. I didn't really care for the veggies and fingerling potatoes. The fish soup was good, like a Manhattan clam chowder almost. Not a great selection of craft beers on tap. Service was good and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Wide menu selection. Good value for a large group or family meal.
Split the 45oz ribeye special. It was delicious and service was fantastic as to getting the order in quickly and then taking the rest of our order, saved about 15mins of waiting overall.
Additionally they quickly came out with a delicious pizza for my 2yr old. Very tasty
I would go back, repeatedly. Our server was top notch!!
I had the shrimp and grits. Shrimp was local and grits were yummy. Service and ambience were exceptional as well. Highly recommend
Server had too many tables waited 15 minutes for the wine. 40 minutes for the food. Fish was over done. Steak was good.
Prime rib was very good. Decor was very very casual. Made reservation through Open Table and confirmed this with hostess. Received email from Open Table that we missed our reservation. All was straightened out in the end.
The waitress was good but unfortunately the food was mediocre.
Very disappointed! I had a reservation & when we arrived ( on time ), the "manager" gave menus to a host and told him to seat us (party of 6) in a room that appeared to be an overflow room that resembled a warehouse. I asked the host if we could be seated in the main dining room and was told there was no space for us (with a reservation made)! Our calamari appetizer had maybe 8 - 10 pieces on it, 1/2 of them tentacles. My grandson could not eat his hamburger because "it tasted weird", the scallop platter had 10 small scallops that were tasty but not worth the price. Our waitress was very nice and efficient ( the only good thing I can say about our experience ). I will definitely not return nor recommend this restaurant.
Food was ok, nothing special. The waitress was extremely friendly and courteous.
Food was horrible. It appeared the vegetables had been rehydrated and mashed potatoes tasted like instant. The shrimp appeared to have come out of box.
The service was slow it took 15 minutes to get one drink after the other 5 people got theirs, the risotto too salty- inedible- both steaks in our party were undercooked. For the amount of money we paid it was very disappointing. The photographer was nice tho $10 a picture is a bit much.
Seated 15 minutes after reservation. Oysters were cool, not cold. After ordering, took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our meals. Food was good, comparable to any fast casual restaurant. Waitress had multiple incorrect charges on my bill, took her 3 tries to get it right.
Karen, our server was as wonderful!! Seafood risotto was delicious!!! Very pleased!!! Will return!
The staff is friendly. The food quality did not match the price. I would not recommend the ribs as they were all fatty.
We had booked our reservation and 20 mins had passed from our reservation tome and we were still waiting for our table. Not a big deal but when we asked the hostess about ‘how much loner?’, she said ‘let me see what I can do’, as if she was doing us a favor.
They put us in an overflow room, with no character and looked more like an add on ‘warehouse’ with wound blanks and no ambiance. The waitress was nice and was trying her hardest, but apologetic about everything, even when she didn’t need to. I think she was overworked by the time she got to us.
The food was so not worth the price. One steak was not cooked evening. One person asked for medium rare and it was well done on one end and rare on the other side. The bake potatoes we all ordered were probably sitting in some oven for over 10 hrs. They were so dry and lost most their their moisture. The seafood was so so, nothing special. The food presentation was not so great, just average.
The worst part of the experience was the soliciting photographers that took your photos during dinner and then try to sell them at the end of dinner. Very unprofessional for an establishment to try to squeeze every penny out of the customers. Also the final bill was not correct but the waitress was able to take the extra charge off.
Positives- drinks were good, orders came out correct. Waitress was nice. Plenty of parking, took reservations, unlike other establishments in Myrtle Beach.
If I’m paying $30+ for steak and seafood, I expect a certain level quality of food, not a golden coral buffet type steak and seafood. I would not go back again.
If the food was offered to me for free, I would not eat it again. Absolutely terrible seriously eat at home, buy lunchables, red barron pizzas are a higher quality, if you go drink a handle of vodka before so you can have a little bit of fun
The place was an upper mid-level restaurant and we were very glad to get a reservation on a busy holiday weekend. The atmosphere is pleasant and the grilled seafood was the best dish the table had. My friends were not as impressed with their salmon or pizza, but I would go back. We were seated quickly and the appetizers were quick but the entrees took an hour. It was a busy night when the wait at many other places exceeded that just to be seated. Overall, I was pleased and would go back.
We made reservations for 18.
They did an absolutely fabulous job!
Service was fantastic. All the food was great.
Definitely a return visit for the family beach vacation!
Food was alright over priced but our server was amazing and made our experience
We didn’t want to go somewhere and wait an hour and a half, and we had a party of 14. Our waitress went above and beyond to get everything we ordered to us correctly and quickly. And dividing up checks was a breeze! Food was great and there were lots of options!
Half of our party’s food took a while to come out. Other than that it was a great experience!!
It’s was ok. Not bad, but not great. The seafood soup had a few pieces of fish and a shrimp tail. The surf and turf was ok. Scallops were good, had to put A-1 on my steak to eat it. (And I dint believe in putting anything on your steak but salt and pepper.) My wife’s steak was well done, she ordered medium rare. They replaced it immediately which was really nice of them. For the price for what’s comparable in Myrtle Beach, I expected better.
We had a family reunion dinner here. I love how easy it was to reserve a section for 24 of us! The only bad side is they don’t have any infant slings to put the car seat in. Server was great the food was pretty good. Some things were a little high- like the chicken Alfredo, j had shrimp added and it was an extra $13
From the start this was bad. We had a group of 12 people for father's day. We were seated fine then it went downhill from there. Our waitress didn't introduce herself and had the personality of a slug. We needed 6 checks and she did accommodate that without issue. Orders were taken, drinks and salads came out promptly. So half our group got their food and seemed ok with it. So the other half were thinking ok ours should be coming.... well not so fast there! We waited a good 15 minutes maybe longer, only to get cold food and that 8oz lobster you thought you were getting? Nope, you get 2 4oz tails with no one bothering to let you know that. So cold lobster, cold steak, shrimp was good but 2 plates had no melted butter or cocktail sauce. I mean if you can't manage basic things like that then I don't put much trust in the rest. I sent my cold underseasoned steak back only to get it back completely rare in the middle instead of the medium rare I ordered. Ask to have it cooked another 2 minutes, then it was better.
My test of a restaurant is whether I'd go back and even when I visit the area again I'd never come back here. I was completely underwhelmed AND that automatic 18% gratuity wasn't really deserved in my opinion but I didn't make a big deal out of that, or anything else for that matter. Our family was on vacation from different parts of the country and THAT was what was important to us!!
I should have listened to Yelp on this one....
Food was terrible and service was okay
When we arrived we were greeted with no dogs allowed. I suffered a severe brain injury and have a nationally certified service dog. The waitress we had did not even know their menu. I ordered oysters and she said the come grilled. I asked if they had flounder, as it is on their webpage menu but not on their in house menu. The reply was only on the sea food platter. I ordered the fried oysters and they were cold.
There were 7 people for dinner. Food wad very good as was service. Emily was timely, friendly and an overall very good server.
I came to Carolina Seafood & Steak earlier in the week and received such great service and excellent food, I ended up coming back. Rosemary the waitress/bartender is an absolute gem. It was my low key birthday celebration and her service was just as great the 2nd time as it was the first. She was extremely helpful with the menu/drink choices and just did everything to make sure we had everything we needed. I also noticed that every member of the staff was very professional and polite. The food was just great! I can't wait to come back to Myrtle Beach to enjoy this restaurant again and again!
First time there. Great food and really good cocktails. Will definitely go again.
My party of ten visited over the weekend. The waitress was very friendly, and apologetic. Majority of the meals was incorrectly cooked. The manager came over with many excuses. The food was subpar quality. The taste was bland, had to ask for additional seasoning.(for blackened salmon) The filet was cut wrong. Another steak was cooked to the point of a hockey puck. The pork chop was very pink and cold inside.
Food was very good and nice portions, good service
Our food was amazing and very prompt. Not a long wait at all. Our server was just plain awesome as well. Me and my date had a great time conversation going with him. Had great knowledge of the menu and made sure our food was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this location for a great dinner if you're around the myrtle beach area. When we go next summer we will be returning for the awesome experience.
In fairness we had a group of 13. That being said, the restaurant was not super busy, so they should have been able to deal with the size of our party. After ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES, Our meal began arriving in shifts. When the meals arrived, many didn't even have sides, and sadly was cold and overcooked. Two were sent back bevause they were so bad, no one was satisfied with their meal. Side portions were small, (4 pieces of esparagus, half cups of coffee, REALLY?). Waitress was nice and polite, but was obviously overwhelmed by the table. I'd never eat there again, and would recommend that you avoid it as well.
First of all, our waiter Shanda was the best. All the adults ordered some kind of fish and all the kids had the filet mignon. The filet mignons were good some a bit more raw then the rest but still good. As for the fish, they were all too dry/over cooked. The desserts were just ok. This would not be a restaurant that we would be going back to. Not only was the food not impressive but the ambience was unappealing.
Overall experience was great. Wide variety of options for seafood and steak. Portions sizes were on the larger size. Everything we ordered tasted great and chef was very accommodating and adjusted one of our meals to make it more kid friendly. Live music- piano player played enjoyable music... a very enjoyable night!
The food was terrible. Everything was packed with so much salt, we couldn't eat it. While food came out fast, it tasted like it was sitting in a steam table, sitting in a salt brine, waiting to be ordered so it could be served.
Party of five. Three of us had filet mignon and only one of us received the filet cooked according to order. Seems whether ordered medium rare or medium, the steak is cooked on the well side of medium. Shrimp and grits had overcooked shrimp but the scallops and crab cakes served along with the filets were excellent. Last order was Mahi Mahi and it was also excellent.
Party of 8, seated promptly with OpenTable reservation. We ordered the jalapeño potato skins. They were chewy like they'd been microwaved too long. We ordered steaks, seafood, and pork chops. Steaks and pork chops were cooked 2-3 times more than requested. Medium sirloin was well done, no pink. Medium rare Filet Mignon was medium well, but ordered medium rare. Pork chop was seasoned in something that made it look black, and was very well done. Server was attentive but slow with bill. Restaurant was probably around 78-80 degrees inside, should have been cooler, most servers had sweat running down their faces. Not worth the $98 bill for 3 of us. Pass on this one and find something worthy of your money.
Food and service was terrible. There are plenty of better options in Myrtle Beach - skip this one and go somewhere else.
