Menu is not overly big but enough different options. I was disappointed they only had 3 beers available. Reason was they ran out of beer from the Sunday football game. That is sub-optimal for a brewery. Would go again though. The 2 beers I had (kolsch and amber) we’re both solid.
We were a party of 7 that made a reservation specifically to watch the UNC vs USC game. We arrived early, had drinks at the bar and then were seated upstairs. The waitress changed all the TVs to the game. We were all watching one tv and had our chairs facing it. In the 3rd qtr, they sat a family of 4 and changed the tv (without checking with us) to another game. We questioned them and another waitress got flustered and sent manager. He made us out to be the bad guys but eventually moved the other table. There were plenty of other tables. We can’t count the many times that we have been here to game watch - very disappointing that we are in Chapel Hill and had to beg for our game to be on. NO way this would have happened in Blacksburg - other family was VA Tech. Prior to this happening our waitress was wonderful - she was not at all involved with the TV issue. Afterwards she never asked if we wanted anything and proceeded to slam drinks and the check down when we ordered. Very upsetting for these 6 UNC graduates. 💙🐏
Waited an hour on pork tacos on a slow Sunday night and didn’t receive all of our order. Food was good when we got it.
Your sky blue beer rocks, the waitress was very helpful and attentive. Food was great
Great place for a burger or sandwich and a beer
Don’t really care for the changes to the menu....
The wait staff was good and the restaurant not too busy at this early dinner hour. The food was average. The best thing was the quesadilla appetizer. The entrees were just OK.
The food was good and the service was great. The beer was also excellent.
We enjoyed our brunch. It was a pretty good value for the quality of the food. They did have some interesting choices.
Fabulous building and ambience. Great beer and service.
Great place for lunch with friends. Food was good but poor choice of non alcoholic beverages.
I’ve been a few times for brunch but the last time really left something to be desired. My order was messed up more than once but the server was gracious and made things right for my trouble. Good for brunch though if you want a quiet meal basketball season near CH probably isn’t the right move. Love the salad bar option.
Great food and friendly service! We watched the Carolina game!
Had Brunch - and enjoyed everything about the place. Highly recommended!
Great place for brunch we will be returning!!!
The food, service, and overall experience was great!
Great food and environment on game day!
Stopped in the brew pub on Thursday evening for Thirsty Thursday. Great street tacos and sliders and $2 drafts. Very nice staff, noise not too loud (the place was only 1/3 full) and great food. Think I know where to go on Thursday afternoon.
Great meal before a concert at Cats Cradle. Beer was fantastic!
We came to watch the super bowl and eat. It was a good place to watch the game but couldn’t hear the commercials- that was kind of to be expected though. The food was average but pretty pricey. Good service though. Bradley was our server and he was really nice and attentive.
We had such a great experience at Carolina Brewery! The staff was terrific, the atmosphere fun for both adults and kids, the location was perfect for walking up and down Franklin Street and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back with our group next time we are in town!
Usually visit the Brewery in Pittsboro but had out-of-town visitors who really like the Franklin St location!! Being able to make a reservation was extremely helpful... No wait..good was fast..wait staff excellent... Only wish brew crew carried over from one location to the other!!
Had a great meal on New Years Day - while trying to get ready to kick off 2019!!!
Great time, staff were great. Service as usual was great.
Went for lunch. Average quality food. Small portions. Not good value for price. Won't be going back.
Food was okay. They have gluten free buns available, but they are not on the menu, so you have to ask for them.
Good vibe to the place
Met family from Greensboro there as we travelled from Raleigh. Found this place on Open Table and was pleasantly surprised! Uh- waffle crusted chicken will have me traveling back to Carolina Brewery as well! I didn’t catch our servers name but she was an absolute gem! So sweet and very attentive!
Drafty (went in November) and although I mentioned air blowing down on us and he fact most guests had to remain bundled staff didn’t remedy turning fan off. The bar/waiter Took FOREVER to get our drink orders to us
The beer was fantastic. The fries in everyone’s dish were soggy - not crisp which was disappointing.
We were amazed at how great the food was
We will be back soon
Also the Octoberfeast beer was one of the best I have ever had
We had an awesome time eating and drinking at Carolina Brewery! Great beer list, awesome food, especially the shrimp and grits, plus perfect location in downtown Chapel Hill. We'll definitely be back!
The air conditioning was broken and we were meeting friends for the first time. So disappointing to be dripping sweat over our food!! The staff did nothing to help!! They could have moved us downstairs after we mentioned it. They could have compensated us for our meal at least!! I nearly fainted. I used every napkin at the table to wipe the sweat from my face And neck. My newly introduced mother of my daughters roommate started to do the same thing as me!! She must have though it was a good idea. The men just tried to tough it out. The restrooms were horribly hot as well! With a terrible heat wave we could have been seated outside and it would have been better!!! My salad was disgusting . The dressing tasted like sour cream instead of blue cheese. My husband ordered a club sandwich which I could have prepared better at home and Im not a good cook by any means!! We asked about the airconditioning and our server just said they were working on it. When I said I'm so hot he said 'tell me about it.' Something could have been done! When we walked downstairs to leave both the downstairs tables and the tables outdoors were cooler!!!! We should have left straight away and went somewhere else but we felt obliged to stay since our friends chose Carolina Brewery :( never again
The food was okay. Our waitress was less than attentive and not very friendly. I won't rush back.
I love everything about the Carolina Brewery: the food, the people, the variety of games they have on.
I regularly bring out of town guests here, as well as locals. Favorite dishes include any of their salads, their sandwiches, and their appetizers. Their generous portions won't disappoint.
Our bartender Bennett was great!
Chapel Hill has a bunch of great restaurants, fancy date-night places with James Beard awards and waiting lists. However, if you just want a decent burger, a plate of chicken strips or steak frites and a good beer, Carolina Brewery is hard to beat. We rely on it when we go to shows at the DSI Comedy Theater. We'll go for an early show, have dinner at Carolina Brewery and go to DSI for a later show. They are literally right next door. Their beer selection is good, the food is above standard bar/pub fare, the staff is friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable. Hard to beat that.
Love the new menu and the focus on locally sourced products!
I've enjoyed Carolina Brewery for lunch but did not like the brunch. Even though we ate at 12:30, only menu available was brunch and it was quite expensive. No kid menu option. Portions were generous but my breakfast bowl overly salty. Though the restaurant was far from crowded, service was slow.
We always love our time at CB! The food is always great and the atmosphere is jut way we like! Looking forward to our next visit!!
Have so enjoyed "the Brew"! Best burger EVER! Appetizers are wonderful, and can be "the meal" if you like a lighter offering. We are there at least once a week. Don't miss out!
