Caro Amico Italian Cafe
Our Deck is open now for Outdoor Dining. Enjoy Happy Hour on the Deck or in our Cozy Bar. 5:00-6:00PM.
Always enjoy this restaurant for family special occasions.
Outside dining on a perfect-weather evening. Great price on an off-menu bottle of rose'. The Bruschetta and Wild Mushroom ravioli were perfect -- our gluten-free diner LOVED the Sausage and Vegetables -
Still fabulous! Returned after an absence of several years and were delighted to find the pizza still high quality. Not the wood-fired experience we love in Italy, but tasty and nicely prepared nonetheless. One of our group had veal parmigiana and was happy with the veal and veggies but said the pasta was bland. Maybe a little more flavor in the sauce is in order. Good wine list with many Italian options.
Love this restaurant!
My dad and I went to Caro Amico for his birthday and we were not disappointed! Food was terrific and service was great.
There aren't many of these kinds of restaurants around any more. Family owned, been running since the 1950's, traditional recipes executed to perfection all in a warm and inviting setting. Been before and will definitely be back again.
It was a good time today at Caro Amico, the server was really nice and helped us with some dishes, we ordered a fabulous pizza.
Highly recommended for a great time and Italian food.
Great service! Great atmosphere! Great food, great view, great location! We will definitely be returning :-)
The food was overpriced. There were no options for a small dinner salad to accompany the meal. Salads were entree sized and expensive.
It was my firts time there and for sure I will return, the food was great and the staff very nice, it is a good Italian restaurant.
Salads were good, service was as well. Food would have been ok if it was not so over salted. Plus my wife’s pesto had something in it that left a bitter aftertaste. I don’t think we’ll be going back.
Always a good experience! Great food and great service!
Made a reservation 4 days in advance but were seated at a small corner table away from windows. Barely could squeeze in!
Love this place for small get togethers. Food is consistently good!
We had our first a wonderful meal here with excellent wine. The scallops were the best I've ever had and my husband loved his shrimp ravioli. He also said the balsamic vinegar is the best he's ever had. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We finished off our meal with a tirimisu, which was divine. Great service too. We'll definitely be back.
Food service delightful.
Our family loves going there.
We sat in the bar/lounge which is such a cool spot. Food, drinks and service all exceeded expectations
We went here based on good reviews and location near our hotel. It is clearly a popular place. The food was mostly very good, my family was happy with their meals. I was a little disappointed in the chicken piccata, the chicken was overcooked and a bit tough, although the piccata preparation was spot on. I also liked the paper table coverings and crayons on the table, kept my kids happy and occupied.
Lettuce in my salad had pieces that were slimy and older. Couldn’t eat half of it.
Didn’t want to say anything as we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday.
Fantastic authentic Italian food. I’ve found my home away from home.
We love eating at this establishment!!
Perfect birthday dinner. And authentic Birthday tiramisu!! Flown in from Italy no less! Yummy fun!
Recommend for fresh pasta dishes
Best to come early — noise.
Eat outside in season
Avoid holidays— usual staff may not be available and the quality may be impacted
(Great bar too)
We enjoyed our Mother's Day dinner at Caro Amico's. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait a few minutes to get seated. The dinner was excellent and we enjoyed some of their dinner specials for that night. We received great service and enjoyed the desserts and coffee at the end of the meal.
The food was excellent. There should have been another food server. There was only 1 for the whole room!
Good food and great service. Got noisy when more people arrived.
Birthday. Wonderful time
The food portions were very generous and tasty as well. We will definitely return
This was our first time here as we were visiting from Seattle We loved it Great Italian flavor and great service . They had a special Key Lime pie for dessert this evening with fresh raspberries and ice cream Best Key Lime pie I've ever had
We’ve been coming to Caro Amico since the 60’s...and continue to return for our favorite, the Caro Amico “special” pizza. We ordered way too much food so that we could have boxes to take home. The meal was very timely and excellent as usual. Accommodating service by Lane was over the top! Give him a raise. Thanks for a great evening with our granddaughter.
Love the pizza. Very accommodating! Parking is easy!
We took our granddaughters to Aladdin. Dinner and service was great. Two tables were especially loud, but nothing staff could do to fix loud patrons.
This is my favorite restaurant always great food and views and atmosphere. friendly staff. Food is so so good
We had a lovely time here with friends. Fun and yummy!
Caro Amico is a funky old place, lots of 50s charm. The waiter was superb: he walked us to the right bus stop to head uptown, he anticipated our concerns about salt and meat, and had legitimate recommendations rather than the generic. Not expensive, charming, unpretentious place.
On vacation and looked for a local restaurant for dinner. Pasta is always a family favorite, and Caro Amico fit the bill. Our pastas were very good, the waitress friendly and helpful, and our 7 year old was welcomed and felt at home.
We dine at the restaurant 2-3 times a year. It would be great if the booths could offer more leg room. We love the booths by the window but they are a tight fit. Ciao!
A wonderful neighborhood spot for a nice cocktail and fabulous Italian food. The service was great too. We loved it.
My 4 stars are like others 5 stars. This little hidden gem of Barbur Blvd is a great Italian restaurant. The marinara sauces is some of the best homemade sauce you will find. I had the lasagna, just delicious. You will enjoy dinner her no doubt.
After our somewhat-disastrous-but-delicious Valentine’s Day dinner (where our meals were both missed, and then accidentally served 20 minutes apart from each other; the restaurant generously comped dessert), we were eager to share this tasty neighborhood joint with our friends.
This second visit was disappointing, and our friends were not impressed. It was a little embarrassing for us. All four of our entrees were substantially under-seasoned; the gentleman who waited on us was not particularly attentive, despite being the first of just 2-3 tables in the section we all left with our glasses long-empty, and I had to flag him down at points; the shrimp in my scampi was overcooked.
The second tray of cheese bread was fantastic and properly seasoned, and the 4 deserts we got were very tasty, though the middle of the chocolate lava was solid.
