One if the best steaks and salmon I've ever tasted
Excellent experience all around. Will definitely be back
Excellent service, food was very very good little on the pricey side but over all worth it. We will be returning! Loved our waitress she was awesome
They went the extra mile to make my boyfriend’s birthday very special
Great food and excellent service. Second time here and will be back for a third.
Awesome experience as usual!!! Stan is amazing. Always provides A+++++ service!!
Great portion sizes and the food was delicious! I will definitely go back!
Literally the best steak I have had in years! Each dish was prepared perfectly! My hat's off to the head chef and the entire kitchen staff. The entire staff went out of their way to make for a wonderful dining experience.
Outstanding food, service, and environment....highly recommend!
My expectations based on other reviews are read were high. However I was somewhat disappointed with the food. The bacon appetizer we we're told takes the longest and it was very overdone when it arrived. My husband's lobster bisque had an extremely fishy flavor and was gritty with some type of spice. His steak was done great however my veal chop was over cooked. The dessert was the best part of the meal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was romantic and sexy. I just wish the food was better given the amount of money you pay.
Great experience yet again. Our server Fred was professional, knowledgeable, and not over-bearing. Wine, cocktails and food were outstanding as well
Steaks were good but for the price I've had better steaks at chains like Flemmings and Ruth Chris. Underwhelmed at the quality and expected much better. Otherwise everything else was good... cocktails and service
Our server was Stan he was more than amazing!!! He deserves a raise!! My husband and I loved the whole experience, from the before dinner drinks to the dessert Stan brought to us to help celebrate our anniversary. I love this restaurant!
We were greeted with open arms and asked if we had a special occasion. We were then seated at our table, promptly served our drinks shortly thereafter, and asked for an appetizer order. The rest of the evening progressed at a steady pace and the food was outstanding. Our party had both filets and ribeyes, each cooked perfectly and tasted sublime. Their dessert choices bring a sweet and savory end to a flavorful, filling meal. If you are looking for an exceptional steakhouse experience, feast your eyes upon Carnevor.
Great experience for a Birthday dinner for my husband from start to finish. Food was outstanding and our server gave great suggestions but was not over bearing. We will definitely return for another special occasion dinner.
Carnevor offers a unique dining experience. Great bar scene and atmosphere. Carnevor takes you into a "Jungle Like" dining experience pairing with their menu. The restaurant offers a variety of wines from around the world complimenting their main entrees. Our server we quick and knowledgeable on the menu and specials for the day. He made sure we didn't leave empty.
If you are in the Milwaukee area and looking for a unique and different dining experience I would recommend dining at Carnevor.
Chad and his beautiful assistant at the bar while I was waiting for my business dinner companion to arrive was great explaining the huge scotch and bourbon selection and some of the special cocktails. Will was an excellent server with great suggestions on pairings that would work with the wine I had selected. We had large filets cooked perfectly with that great char crust. The sauce Will suggested worked perfectly to complement, not overwhelm, the flavor of our steaks. The Mac and Cheese ranks as the best I have had at ANY steakhouse - a mix of cheeses including just the right subtle amount of blue cheese. Our starter salads also featured some awesome vine-ripened greenhouse tomatoes which were a nice surprise for February in Milwaukee. Finally, the wine list is excellent and extensive, it has all types and price ranges well represented. The only negative was the noise level - people at the nearby tables were almost yelling across the table to each other which meant we had to also at times. However, the overall experience was excellent - this was my second visit to Carnevor this year and I am sure I will be back.
We ordered the bourbon maple-glazed thick cut bacon for our appetizer and absolutely loved it. Our waiter was very kind and relatable as well. We then had a great dinner filled with the best steak I have ever had. Definitely worth the money.
Food is delicious are go to spot for great steak and filet.
The food was delicious! For 6 of us though, the price was really out of control, in our mind. Especially knowing how many other really good steak houses there are in town.
Great steak and service. Fine wine and atmosphere. It's a bit pricy but worth it.
I will go back. Enjoy.
Very elegant me and sufficient other enjoyed it. I will definitely be coming back enjoyed it.
the food is delicious, but the server made the evening as he made an effort to ensure we fulfill any special requests we made for food preparation
I LOVE ED THE FOOD THE WAITER WAS GREAT, THE PLACE WAS NICE. MY STEAK WAS THE BEST EVER.
AMAZING! Service was incredible! I'm a server and I love this place. The food is outstanding! Definitely worth the price!
Both the food and service were top notch. Reasonable full-bottle of wine options from $40 on up. Steak was incredible.
Great restaurant with excellent quality dishes. Can't wait to come back.
We arrived for 830 reservations at 815 and were told to wait in the bar and that they would come and get us. My wife had a signature cocktail for $16 and said it absolutely wasn't worth the money. At 835 I went back to the host stand and was told they would seat us immediately.
Our server was not great. We still had our drinks from the bar and he said he would be back with bread and water. After several minutes I had to ask for the bread. I will say, when we received the fresh baked bread, it was delicious and the herb butter was fantastic.
Based on server recommendation we ordered the bacon appetizer. The flavor was very good, but it was a little tough.
We overheard specials being presented to another table, and when our waiter came by for our order, I had to ask for them. Comparatively, his delivery was very flat compared to what we had just overheard.
I ordered the 45-day dry aged strip, my wife the 20 oz bone-in ribeye. For the table we got the truffle mashed and the asparagus.
My steak was very flavorful and cooked excellently. My wife's steak was also cooked well and was tasty. It was nice to be able to taste significant difference between the two steaks. The truffle mashed were OK, but mostly mashed potatoes with truffle butter on top. The asparagus was a large order and cooked just right.
TL/DR: The food was excellent, but the service was lacking, which may have been just our particular server
The steaks are great and a very good wine list to go with
Food was perfect as always. Service was great. Will return again.
Carnevor...within great walking distance of The Pfister and the Marriott. We chose Carnevor for a great tasting steak on Valentines Day. I must say the food was probably the best we've ever tasted from the seasoned butter for the warm bread to the thick, melt in your mouth Filet Mignon. Our issue is the ambience. I would hardly call this romantic as the seats are very close together and it is VERY loud. We asked to move seats once because we were by the front door and got put in a room that reminded us of the mens den. I was the only female there and the groups of men surrounding us were extremely loud! My husband and I could barely hear each other let alone the server. The management was super about apologizing later and expressed care regarding this issue. I would highly recommend Carnevor for a fantastic tasting out of this world steak!!
Went for a late dinner on Valentine's. Food and service were both outstanding.
Excellent Food. Excellent Service. Always a good time. Highly recommend.
Unbelievable steaks and even better service. I had the dry aged ribeye with wagyu jus and my fiancé had a filet with bernaise. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly and out of bounds amazing. She even went so far as to say it was the best steak she ever had. Our waitress was also incredible, very attentive and made us feel like valued customers (she even covered our dessert!).
Great steaks. Great sides. Attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
Food was great, drinks were great, service was attentive, atmosphere was nice, sound was good the only issue was that we were seated on the side of the restaurant where when patrons would enter or leave we would get a blast of artic air. Because that seemed continuous, it pretty much killed the experience for my wife, which for $100 a person is disappointing. We weren't the only guests talking about it. Don't sit on the left side when entering - sit in the back if possible. Owners should consider installing some clear plexiglass on both sides of the walkway leading to the host stand and consider adding a ceiling heater to warm the air before it hits the restaurant, as the exterior vestibule for the winter is far from adequate.
Absolutely incredible food. Prices were very reasonable for this level of dining.
The staff at Carnevor are top of the industry. They understand the details of fine dining. They have a wine list that includes rare and unique wines as well as the common buy. We really enjoyed the steak tartare and warm seafood platter apps. The Japanese Wagyu was also amazing. Ali is a professional server and Addie was awesome with the wine. Definitely the top in Milwaukee.
This was our 3rd visit for a personal date night and 4th for a business related dinner and this is becoming our reliable and go-to place for a classic steakhouse dinner. No surprises and no worries as the service, food, noise level, and atmosphere work just right. A little old school “club” feel and very unhurried. Just wish they offered a Porterhouse cut and maybe some lamb chops as their chefs are artists with the current offerings.
