Carneros Bistro & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Wow: impressive. Food and beverages were dynamite. Excellent mule cocktails - nice local wine selection (glad to see our neighbors Gundlach Bunschu on the list).
Delectable deviled eggs with crisped prosciutto, pickled mustard seeds and black sturgeon caviar were fantastic (4 perfectly presented half eggs for $7: a steal)! The crispy fried brussels sprouts with apples and honey soy vinaigrette were outstanding and we are Brussel sprouts connoisseurs.
My husband's fried prawns over grits was super tasty and our mom had the petaluma half chicken over Yukon mashed, which was excellent as well! Service by Liz was impeccable!
Coffee was great and the Oreo cheesecake, topped off with raspberry sauce & fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, was the perfect ending to a great meal.
Oh and bonus: Be sure to tell them if you live in Sonoma!! They treat locals right!!
So very disappointed in this experience. We were not told that Christmas dinner would be a buffet. The seafood bar was never adequately stocked and it took far to long to replenish it. The flatware was provided by wait staff, who were very slow to respond. We spent most of the time waiting for the food to be replenished, which diminished the entire experience. We left $250 out of pocket for two and will not return. Disappointed Sonomans....
We just had Christmas day buffet there. Usually buffets don't show well for restaurants but this one was outstanding. The food was exquisitely prepared. If the buffet can be this good then made to order meals will also receive the care and attention good food deserves. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is part of a hotel and the room is nothing special but the food made everything worthwhile. Go check it out.
Our first time for Christmas Brunch but definitely not our last. The food was great, the service the attention.
But I am really going back for the absolute best Bloody Mary I have ever tasted!
A very special recipe for their own Bloody Mary mix! You must try one!
Service was excellent! Peter had a lot of tables to tend to and still made us feel like we were his only customer. A very personable young man, indeed.
Food was delicious .
We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary & were well taken care of . Sunday morning breakfast failed to disappoint.
We truly will return to this restaurant, as well as recommend to family & friends !
Great food selections and wine list. Atmosphere cozy yet special. The bar is low key, but has a nice easy touch. I like going to this location because it’s off the plaza, locals hang out there and food is very good.
Liz was our staff waiter, very nice and efficient.
Only comment, one person’s paella was room temp when served.
This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Sonoma. However, on a recent visit to the restaurant for a very special occasion it turned out to be very disappointing! It was a Wednesday night, the night before Thanksgiving. The restaurant was not very crowded but it took over an hour to get our entree for three people. When the entrees arrived, one of the orders was wrong. The order was placed for a steak cooked medium-well, but the steak arrived rare. The server then asked me if the steak was not cooked to my liking! The steak was rare, not what I had ordered at all. To make matters worse, my mother ordered the pork chop, which was very difficult to cut and chew! The service is usually good, but I was surprised how inattentive and blasé the staff were on that night. I hope this was a one time occurrence, otherwise my local 10% discount is not worth the dissatisfaction.
We could not have picked a better place to celebrate a 77 Birthday and our 55th Anniversary. We were recognized for those and appreciate the acknowledgement. We would surely recognize our first night server (Rick, I believe) and Liz the 2nd night.
Thank you to the management for an upgrade that we requested because of these events. We have been a Marriott timeshare owner for 20 years.
This restaurant is unappreciated by locals. The food is very good, along with the service. We had a very creative cocktail in the bar before dinner.
Plus they give locals 20% discount!
Our only comment would be that the dining room is uninviting. It needs a re-model to make it warmer and perhaps more contemporary. Something's wrong with the seating and it feels ordinary.
Service was a bit iffy but that may have been exacerbated by a large party in the outside area. Once served, I will say the presentation of the dinner was beautiful. Good food nicely presented. We shared a veggie flatbread that was quite good. My wife had the lamb loin with grits. Nicely cooked medium rare. I had the halibut which was beautifully presented with green pea risotto.
The service was amazing. Server Juliana and the person who backed her up were great. The occasion was my mother's 79th birthday brunch. The experience truly met with our approval. We will be back it was well worth the drive from Suisun City.
Thank you for making my Mom's birthday special 🎂🍽🍷!
Bella our server was great! Food was very good too. Nice that it was dog friendly, as I brought my Labrador since was visiting from out of town and enjoyed a nice lunch with friends. Would definitely recommend this spot! One suggestion I would make to management is to consider installing ceiling fans in outdoor areas, as this will make the visit more comfortable for patrons. I noticed that heaters and lights were in the ceiling areas, but no fans and it was quite warm the day we were there, so would just help the flow of air.
We honestly didn't expect much from this restaurant since it is part/next to the Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance but WOW! We were surprised by some innovative dishes that were really outstanding like the pork belly with a deep fried soft boiled egg and heirloom tomato salad with burrata and prosciutto. We also had the octopus (as a main) and hanger steak which were delicious.
