Carmine's - Washington DC
Book your next event with us
It's time for Carmine's to invest in some customer service for its staff!!! We had a party of 7, celebrating 3 Virgo birthdays of family members. We knew we were off to a RIP-roaring start when, arriving just a few minutes early for an 11:30 a m. brunch, we were met with attitude from the glued-to-her-phone hostess, who rudely informed us that we would have to wait because the restaurant opens at 11:30, then promptly turned around and seated 2 other separate parties full of lighter-skinned cousins. It just continued on a downward spiral from there. From our waiter who insisted that a cranberry mimosa had to contain orange juice as well, then seemed to derive great pleasure in telling us no when we told him that all we wanted was cranberry juice and champagne. Said that they couldn't and wouldn't make it that way. To learning that their fryer was once again broken, effectively eliminating almost all the items that we could order off their appetizer menu. To the rudeness of the assisting servers who brought out dishes for the table, practically throwing them down. There are just far too many really amazing fine dining food options in the city for Carmine's to serve up this lacklustre and quite mediocre experience. They need to step their game up, or people will simply move the game to some other arena. I know that I, for one, have no plans to return to Carmine's anytime in the near future!
Our server Tiffney was outstanding! She was so friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back! Food was exceptional as always!
Had yet another great experience at Carmine’s.
Gotta visit Carmine’s when visiting DC for the very best Italian food!
You can’t beat Carmine’s for good food and great service.
Carmine’s never disappoints. If you have never had the Chocolate Bread Pudding don yourself a favor and save some room (good luck).
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel like VIPS! The greeting, the fast seating and table selection was exceptional.
The food is always THE BEST!
Damien, thank you for being a classy guy! Two thumbs up!
We’ll be back! Definitely!
Everything was great food came out hot and spaced out well
The server was in a daze. We asked for the children’s food to arrive when it was ready. It came last and after two other courses of food. The server took our order and didn’t come back to check on us. Until after we reminded the manager of the children. The food was bland and overly salted. The Carmine’s in NYC is 20x better. Don’t waste your time in DC.
The food was great and the service was excellent! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
I love going to carmines... Very good restaurant, very good food , very good service and special ambiance. Food is served family style... large platters of pastas, etc for all to share. Don’t hesitate to try it, but make reservations!
We came for my 26th Birthday and had a wonderful dinner! Our waiter was great and the food was fabulous!! We cannot wait to come back to DC next year! :)
Our waiter Charles was great!
Excellent and convenient location for a business lunch. Menu is family style so our group of 4 shared lunch sized portions of calamari, tomato& mozzarella salad and a delicious rigatoni country style. Great value.
I have frequent team meetings here. Great for a group to get together at lunch or in the early evening and discuss work (etc.) over a meal. Great service as well.
Amazing food and family style platters really encourage a annual occasion.
The meal was excellent. Downfall was the Caesar Salad cost just as much as an entree. $27.00 for lettuce, croutons and dressings? A tad disappointing when a head of lettuce cost $1.99.
Huge family style portions, not the place for small appetites and couples
Great costumer service and very good food ———————————-/////——_______———____________________\\\__————-
Great service with great food! The amount of food is wild! Make sure you go hungry! Lol
We were a large party and they handled that well
Not attentive enough though for things like
Never offers coffee and dessert
Amazing location, terrific food and service was impeccable.
Spaghetti was good but too much for two people. Love the fresh basil in the sauce. Also like the variety of breads.
This is a family style restaurant with servings intended for 2 to 3. Therefore entree prices might seem high but on a per person basis not bad. The atmosphere is traditional Italian and the wait staff professional. Good option.
The menu was a little confusing but the food was excellent and we really enjoyed everything! We would highly recommend!
A date with my significant other it was wayyy to much food for 2 people but amazing leftovers. Good drinks as well
Seulement des gros plats familiaux.
Great service & delicious food!
Best shrimp fra diavolo I have ever had. Family style dining means every plate feeds 4-6 people so what seems expensive really evens out. I would definitely come here again!
Darryl was great! Thanks for providing great service and yummy food!
We always enjoy Carmine’s wonderful pasta and veal dishes, the best Calamari in the world and the tiramisu. It’s unfortunate that the wine costs more than three times it’s worth, so we also try their inventive cocktails. As much as I like not having all the food come out at once, it seemed we were always looking for our waitress and water or bread or cocktails or the next course. That won’t stop us from going back but I hope they can be a bit more attentive next time.
I made a reservation here before a concert. We parked in the garage right under the restaurant which was very convenient. Food was good and service was quick. We shared one entree and a salad and still had leftovers. Only thing I didn’t like was the table which was uncomfortable and had folding sides on it. Request a booth and you’ll be good.
Carmines is the best Italian food we've ever eat eaten.
Food was amazing and plentiful
The food is so good!! Our waiter was the best!! We were visiting DC and wanted to go for a nice dinner but something that would be kid friendly. Carmine’s didn’t disappoint!!
Prices are to high for that type of food. Garlic cheese bread was served hot, but cold by the time entree came. Meatballs were not seasoned enough.
Excellent meal...timely service with gracious staff! Well done!
We had decent food but the service was far from good. We had to ask to ask for water, enough bread and olive oil for the entire table, waited for a very long time for our requests, waitstaff didn't come around to see how we were doing. Also had a party celebrating a birthday and requested Happy Birthday to be sung but that never happened either - We were there early and it was not busy - Spent several hundred dollars for the party and would have expected better service than this - Would have to think twice before going back.
Food was dry and over cooked, service took forever, no options for individuals- I wanted a salad and no one else did- the only choice was $37!! A total rip off in my book!
Family style was great for the size of our party.
