Great spot for holiday friends gathering! The food is always good!
The chicken marsala is GREAT! Would love to come here again.
The food is great no matter what you order and it comes in huge portions. it's just impossible to try everything on the menu, so make sure you know in advance what you want...research the menu before you go...you are going to share everything with your company.
Family style dinner. A little pricey. I paid almost $5 for a child soda because the kids meal doesn’t come with a drink.
The family style dining was fabulous for our family get together. The food was terrific.
We’ve walked by Carmine’s a thousand times over the years, no more, we’re going to book again and again! We had the best eggplant parmigiana and escarole ever, with more than enough for tonight’s meal. Thank you Carmine’s, you made us feel like we were in Manhattan!
The hostess staff were rude and far from welcoming. Never saw anything like it.
Wait staff was inattentive at times. Waited 5 minutes for water service. We had to ask a bus boy to find our waiter when it was time to order.
Waited 10 minutes or more for a waiter. Restaurant was not busy & waiters were just standing around. Server was lacking in personality & service skills. We had to ask for bread. Special quoted by server was not available & manager said they had 86’d it. It was only 5:30 so they could not have sold old. We look forward to visiting Carmine’s when we visit DC. This visit was disappointing. Not sure we will return.
Food was exceptional. Great choices for this family style restaurant. Service was very slow and unattentive. Was always looking for our server - to get soda refills, to get the check, etc.
Didn’t realize it was family style. Which would have been fine except we were a party of two. Our waiter made us order the family style for 3-4 people, and only as we were walking out and overheard another waiter did we know that there were smaller portions available.
We had 2 great meals and were served by a very fine waiter.
Food was fine but not exceptional. Service was really bad. One orders taken which was slow bar drinks took a long time. It was about 80% full so not a heavy crowd night. Food came out quickly so kitchen was doing good. Tried to order after dinner drink and gave up on getting menu and went to hostess stand myself. At least 15 min and no drink order so we gave up and asked for check. Walking out noticed bar tender was standing there with no activity. Probably not return to carmines. nY atmosphere was there but service wasn’t.
Food was great! Portions were large! Darko our server was amazing! Ambiance perfect.
Lots of fantastic food! Worth the wait!
I went last Christmas and the food was much better. This time the food was not as good especially the clams with rigatoni. There were a small number of clams and there was not very much pasta. The calamari was very good but they should have provided more tomato sauce. The eggplant was the best dish and I would order again if I go there.
The food was very good, but service was terrible. We were a party of three and multiple parties, ranging from 4-10 people, we're sat after we ordered, but received their food before us. Some of the groups that sat after we ordered even left before we received our food. After waiting 50 minutes, I finally said something to our waiter and he said he would check on it. The manager did come over and apologize, but our waiter never said he was sorry. As a consolation, they took our garlic bread order off the bill. It was pretty clear that a party of 3 wasn't a priority for our waiter. I'll never go back.
My daughter’s birthday
Good food. Family size portions. Not advised for 2 people.
The staff and food was outstanding! Will definitely come back.
Great! Would return when in Washington, DC again.
Carmine's is a great place for large family and/or friends gathering. It would also be a great place for a first date too. My family and enjoyed it as it was our first restaurant style Thanksgiving dinner.
Food was excellent. Was let down by a completely miserable server.
I was very happy I choose this resturant as my wife and I only had 1 night in Washington Dormehl Construction. The atmosphere was electric, perhaps because it was Thanksgiving. The food portions where huge, too big actually as we were 2 and you could have fed 3 hungry people. The prices were proportionate to the size therefore it would have been nice to have half portions at half the price. However the food was amazing and the service was on point! I would definitely go back to this franchise but I would book a table in the back away from the front door and window when its 40 degrees outside.
Food was great. Good spot for family. Waiter was a jerk and seemed to revel in his lousy behavior.
The food and service was great! We had more than enough room at our table for our family.
Excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our traditional Thanksgiving Dinner and want to go back for their normal Italian menu!!
We had an incredible Thanksgiving family dinner there. Well worth the trip south.
Nandi was an INCREDIBLE waitress. I know you all were busy today, but we had so much fun! The food is delicious, the drinks superb, and we're both Italian American, so it was nice to have some "home cooking" even if we couldn't go home. Thank you so much-we're definitely coming back!
Our family has enjoyed Carmine's for years and chose to celebrate the holiday there this year. Our server Mac and his manager Brian went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergy. I would highly recommend this restaurant because both food and service were stellar!
I love Carmine’s and my family has done the Carmine’s Thanksgiving Special many times over the years. The food is always great and plentiful. Typically the service and experience match the food quality. This year I was disappointed in the service, which was too “Nickle Dime-y”. For sample, when we asked for a glass of milk for my 2 year old son the response wasn’t “Of course” it was “well, sir that will cost $3.00 extra.” I found that general attitude off putting. I was happy to pay extra for the milk but treating Thanksgiving Lunch like a Moroccan bizarre was off putting. I hope Carmine’s returns to the food service that helped make it famous.
Family style food that tastes amazing.
We had dinner. It was a bit late, but they were open. He had a lasagna which was just alright and meat. The meat wasn’t cooked the right way and was too salty. On top of that, we weren’t even offered dessert. We got the check before even asking.
Poor service. Food under average. Not coming back to tus one
Do not go....unless your looking for a cheap chain restaurant with 2nd rate service. The portions are massive and not even good. If you can’t even do dessert well then your on my ban list and Carmines is now on there.
The family style dining was amazing, food delicious and service impeccable! What a lovely find for our group of 8
Ideal for a business lunch. Tip: from the lunch menu order the giant hero sandwich WITHOUT the bread. We both had tomato and mozzarella with prosciutto sandwich without the bread and a ceasar salad on the side. Perfect size. Delicious. GREAT value
