Always love the service here! It was a lovely summer atmosphere.
Arrived at 6 for reservation- sat in the bar area. I love Carmine’s. I’ve been a guest of theirs for longer than I’d like to admit! ;) Everything was exactly as I expected, and it was perfect. Like visiting an old friend.
I don’t recall if they ever played music, but it would be a nice addition for low background filler. If they do play it, it was not playing that night.
I will be back often, it’s that good! Thank you!
Pasta, salad and rolls were fantastic! Server was extremely helpful and pleasant. The proteins (veil and chicken) were satisfactory but seemed a little lacking. We sat outside on the patio hoping it would be a little quieter but as larger groups were seated it became difficult to have conversations. I think that's the norm in Denver these days though.
We have been here several times to celebrate something special and they don’t disappoint. Food is great and perfect for big groups!
As always this place is fantastic! Service was great and plenty of great food for a family party.
Carmines on Penn has the best management, staff, food, and ambiance out of every restaurant in Denver. If you are looking for delicious made from scratch Italian food then you must try Carmines! By far my FAVORITE restaurant in Denver
Disappointed in the service. Waiter forgot about us after he took our order. Never got the 2nd glass of wine I ordered. We all would have ordered more drinks if he would have come over to us. They cleared our dishes while our friends were still eating. The food was very good and would go back but wouldn’t want that some waiter.
Our server Chaz was on point and the food was phenomenal! Can't wait to come back and get down on some lamb shank!:)
This is our favorite Italian restaurant! Has the best flavor and such well made entrees! I love that it is family style. Also, they do gluten free super well and can make almost their whole menu GF.
Loved it! Ambiance was great. Delicious food. I’m looking forward to going back.
Wonderfully relaxing, cozy, casual yet fine dining, located in a neighborhood. One of my favorite places anywhere for the last 20 years.
Great date nite 5 star experience
Seafood was not fresh
Everything was great. Service and food especially/ only thing I would say is it was a little loud.
The seasonal risotto was to die for and our server fought another server for the last order of the dessert special and won. What more could we possibly ask for?
Birthday dinner with a Dad. Dinner was excellent. The chicken parmigiana was wonderful, and the ravioli and carbonara were very tasty, too. Compliments to the chef!
However, the restaurant still smells musty like a dirty mop. The cleaning crew needs to use clean mop heads, and I would recommend Murphy’s Oil Soap for the wood floors because it leaves a clean and refreshing smell.
Why can't they have dinners for one diner? Everything is either for 2 or family. I think this eliminates a lot of diners.
Great food, great service. Even though we haven't dined here in several months we were greeted by name and treated like special customers. Carmine's is our go to place for Italian food in Denver
There isn't another place we would want to spend Father's Day!! The food is amazing! The servers are always so helpful and nice. I recommend this place to everyone!
Went to Carmines while visiting Denver. We had an overall good experience. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating The only reason I gave the food 3 stars was we had Gnocchi and felt they were too soft We will return the next time we’re in Denver, though.
Good food as always!
Great food, attentive to gluten-free (celiac) orders. Patio was perfect!
Salad and dinner were both fantastic. Dinner for two could use more pasta. Only item that wasn't desired was the tiramisu. Stick with the cannoli or spumoni.
We have been searching for an authentic Italian restaurant to replace Caninos Trattoria since it closed and finally found it. From the addictive bread to the fresh salads, perfectly prepared main courses to the to die for chocolate covered strawberries this is the place. I' am super picky about how my Itialian food is prepared as I'm an eggplant parm snob and our waiter guided us to exactly what we wanted. This was the best choice for our 20th anniversary dinner and will be our new go to restaurant for special occasions and entertaining out of town guests.
Overpriced with poor service. Average food. Sad to see this once great establishment not delivering as it should.
We've come to Carmine's for the past 25 years. The last few times I have felt rushed to eat and get out. This last experience was to celebrate my birthday and the dining areas weren't full so unclear why it was everyone's purpose to get us out of there in such a hurry. In the past when I've indicated we were there to celebrate an event or milestone the staff has always made mention of it, but this visit no mention was made except of the Carmine's promotion of their 25 years. I missed that personal touch
The food and service was outstanding. This is one of the best Italian Restaurants I have ever eaten at!
Have you ever felt ripped off and somewhat demoralized by an expensive meal? Especially one that was supposed to be a special occasion? That’s how this felt.
The gnocchi was inedible. The salad was overdressed, sad and brown, a “special” linguini with sausage and peppers entree that the waiter recommended was - I’m not kidding - $60. It was pasta and red sauce and some sausage and peppers! Nothing special.
I’ve been to Carmine’s many times over its 25 years. We’ve always had good food and snappy, fun service. It’s casual and family style. Perfect for this occasion with a group of 8 family members. But this time was a total disappointment.
My 13-year-old daughter literally fell asleep at the table because the service was so slow. The restaurant was half empty, but it didn’t matter.
The whole experience was a sloppy letdown.and it just kind of makes you mad when you think about the bill, which was as much as a way fancier, way more professional service experience.
Food was wonderful - served family style.
First time back in a couple of years - seems like it has gone down hill. Was a slow early Wed evening. Service was quite slow and not particularly positive. Wine bottle prices were kind of ridiculous - a bottle I really like which retails for around $12 was $74 on the menu. Food was fine, but not the "great" that I remember.
If you want good Italian food, in an upscale, yet relaxing atmosphere, go to Carmine's.
The food was exceptionally good! Great open-air setting in a great little neighborhood!
Overall had a great dinner. The food was incredible. I could have used music on in the restaurant, but other than that, 100% recommended
Food was delicious! Will definitely be coming back. The service was top notch. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent wine suggestions.
The food was absolutely delicious. From start with the garlic rolls to the ending with the cheesecake. Every single bite was perfect. Or waiter was so great. He was nice, he was very helpful, and most importantly he was passionate about the food and described everything in great detail which was helpful for someone who had never been there before.
Always a GREAT go-to place when you want to celebrate and not worry about whether your guest will enjoy their meal. We had Vegans to meat eaters. There was something for everyone provided your guests enjoy real food. Thanks for making a great evening better.
A staple and a consistent favorite! Chicken Montana ALWAYS a must. The team at Carmine’s exceeds expectations. We’ve been going for years and proud to enjoy a 25-year fave in Denver!
Proper Italian food coming from a guy that grew up eating a lot of Italian in NJ. Mussels were delicious and portioned well for 2. Chicken picatta was as good as it gets pretty much. Best Italian food I’ve found in Denver by far.
Good service accommodations great. It is by nature a noisy restaurant but we try to minimize for our dining pleasure by early reservations. I like a beer so it is frustrating to have staff receiting a list of beers I never heard of let alone a written description
Used to love this place. Unsure if it was a bad night but the linguini was hard, not al dente truly hard. The ravioli was mushy and the stratzopretti was watered down sauce.
