Fish did not taste fresh.
Ambiance was outstanding. It was just what we were looking for. Boats and inter coastal waterways. A nice treat. The food was also very good! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good seafood or sushi.
Very pleasant but overworked waiter...still waiting to hear the specials or get a roll! First course and sushi were pretty good. Had the grouper as recommended and it was virtually flavorless. Have been to Carmine’s Trattoria and had high expectations that were not even close to being met.
Great location, good service, but we waited 30 mins past our reservation to be seated and the food took over an hour.
Happy Hour at the bar was great, Sylvia is always a wonderful bartender.
For dinner, there were too many dining tables, ours was up against a wall to the next building over and was very dark. They were very busy & service was poor. Even though they acknowledged twice we were there for a birthday celebration, they never offerred desert or came back to our table after dinner was served. Felt they overbooked for the size of the restaurant and kitchen.
The service was perfunctory at best but would have been acceptable if the food was good, but it was most assuredly not. The miso sea bass should be marinated with a delicate taste. But the fish was a rubbery slab covered with a gooey miso flavoured glop. The Asian Pear salad was bland with the only flavor coming from the candied walnuts. Find someplace else.
Terrible service. Offered complimentary drinks which was very nice. But did not make up for the problems of getting a waiter and long wait for food.
Food was fantastic, but we waited for our food quite a long time. Drinks were good.
Dined with two friends. We had sushi appetizer, fresh clams. Dinner was appetizer platter for one, lobster stuffed shrimp for another and lastly shrimp risotto. All excellent. Wait service was excellent. The Host was fabulous and very focused on customer service.
Contrary to past experiences at Carmine’s, the kitchen was backed up and one of our main entrees was over cooked (Duck). Ultimately, they agreed to remove the charges for the entree. We’ll try the restaurant again, but we did have a very poor dining experience.
We have been to Carmine's many times and have always been pleased. The food was as good as usual, but the service was poor from the moment we sat down. Our server, Christopher, was inattentive, curt and at one point he passed the job to another waiter. My husband and I arrived after our friends, and there was one cold roll left on the platter. We had to ask two times, before hot rolls were brought to the table. After waiting for our drinks, Christopher came back to the table and said they were being made at the bar, when we asked for another table, because there was a screaming child at my back, he said, "I'll get your drinks, that will make it better". After I made a remark about finding just what I wanted on the menu, he asked if it was then unnecessary for him to tell us about the specials. When we got our check, we gave him two credit cards and asked for them to be split. When we got the receipts back ours was the correct amount $63.99 and our friends' was for $.64. (We used a $40.00 Charity Dines coupon) When we finally got him back to the table, he made no comment, just took the receipt and returned with the corrected paperwork.
We arrived on time for a 7:00 PM reservation on Friday night. The restaurant was quite busy at this time. We were seated outside at around 7:25. The waiter didn't come by the table, poor water or ask for a drink order for more than 15 minutes after we were seated. My wife had to plead with a busboy to have the waiter come to our table. When he arrived, he didn't introduce himself nor show any interest in anything other than moving to his next table. 50 minutes later we received our cold fish dinner plates. They had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for at least 15 minutes to have the food be dry, overcooked and barely edible. Finally, rather than continue to order anything else, we asked for a check and left. My wife complained to the hostess station where she was told the owner would see us. He didn't show up and we just fled this crappy restaurant; at 9:15 or 2 hours and 15 minutes after arriving. Avoid this place at all costs. Maybe we had an "off night" or simply an awful waiter. In any event, we'll never go back. $91.00 down the drain for a McDonalds fish sandwich !
The food was very good. The entrees were fresh and the presentation was very nice. The server was attentive and very personable. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
Some dishes were quite good while others were just mediocre. The service was pleasant but very slow.
We were disappointed because we were not allowed to use our Groupon. Because it was Valentines Day. We feel that was not advertised anywhere so we were blindsided.
Our Valentines dinner was extra romantic as we dined outside next to the fountain. The lightning was perfect for a perfect evening. Bob took great care of us! Our food was scrumptious. Carmine’s is definitely a place we will return to. Thank you for making out first experience amazing!
It was Valentines Day so more hectic than usual. I’ve been several times and the food is always fantastic. Our waiter left big gaps possibly due to it being VD. I’ll be back again and again.
At night the outside ambiance was lovely. The Calamari was wonderful, some of the best we have eaten. We also enjoyed the shrimp scampi, although it should have come with pasta or rice. We had to order that as a side.
One of my favorite places to go for sushi and seafood. However, the service on Valentine's Day was terrible. The server had 7 tables and in my opinion that is management's downfall on such a busy evening. It took 30 minutes before he was able to get our drink order. We got to order after about 45 minutes. We saw him once after that to deliver our check. He thanked us for being "cooperative" Such a let down for one of my favorite restaurants.
When I arrived at the office the next day, my coworker mentioned that she saw me there. Apparently she too had poor service. They were sitting outside.
