The restaurant was good, but the noise level was deafening. We could hardly hear each other speak.
Restaurant was a bit noisy, service was good, food was good, portions ample.
Love this place! Always friendly and the best service and food
The salmon was outstanding and my friend loved her tuna
Always a pleasure dinning at Ocean Grill, the sushis are excellent .
Thank you Mr. Peng for the warm welcome.
Fantastic as always!
Food was great, server was attentive and atmosphere was very romantic!
Booked for New Years Eve and our anniversary celebration.
We arrived 10 minutes early for an 8:30 reservation.
Were told to go to bar and table would be ready shortly by a hostess.
Then also acknowledged by a manager a few minutes later.
More time passed and we still had not been seated.
We waited by check in.
Many people started arriving and there was no real order as to how people were being seated.
Eventually we went up again to find out when we'd get seated.
We got a table finally.
After 20 minutes more of waiting and not even a waiter or anyone poured a glass of water.
No bread for the table.
Other tables that were seated after us were taken care of immediately.
So I went to the bar to get us drinks.
Finally a waiter showed up.
Staff seemed overwhelmed.
At table next to ours a waiter started yelling at another server as they were setting up a table.
On my way back to our table the same waiter nearly pushed me out of the way.
The appetizer was very good and our bread arrived too.
We ordered entrees and then waited and waited.
Also the waiter never put in an order for a glass of wine.
It wasn't worth going back up to the bar again.
We were told a few times that our food was being plated then waited...and waited.
Finally at 10:45 our food arrived.
There was no silverware and we asked the server to bring us some.
After 10 minutes we were still waiting.
So had to go inside to find someone to bring to us.
What started out as having good expectations for a festive celebration fell very short.
By the time we left we were actually exhausted.
We did not feel appreciated at all.
No reason to have to work this hard to get through a meal.
Have had many better experiences eating at chain restaurants.
Maybe ordering in pizza next year and save a few hundred dollars!
Don't like to write negative reviews but this one was deserved.
New Years Eve
We had a great New Year's Eve experience here. Our server was terrific -- very professional and friendly. It is unusual that I find more than 2 things that I really want to eat on any menu. At Ocean Grill, I had a hard time choosing between many appealing options. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is extremely inviting. We had a quiet table by the water and really enjoyed the experience.
Consistently good service and cuisine. A neighborhood favorite.
I've been to this restaurant many times, the food is always great!
Food was good. Prices were very high and the portion size was small. I read the reviews first so I didn't expect much
Food and service were good, noise level really high , hard to have a conversation except with person directly next to you.
We've been to Carmine's a few times for their Happy Hour tapas and drinks and live it's decided t go their for a friends get together. It was not good weather for outdoor dining which is lovely there so we had to eat indoors. The regular dinne menu was okay but nowhere as much fun or the great value.
Excellent food on the pricey side!
The Service, The Food and the ambiance were all excellent.
The food was very good. The service was great as well. We we're given excellent recommendations from our server.
Food and staff were excellent. A little noisy but not bad
Worst value for sushi in Palm Beach. Service was great, sadly sushi did not live up to what we would expect from a Carmine's restaurant. Incredibly small portions and limited options. Octopus was cut so thin we could see right through it. They consider one surf clam foot to be two pieces when they cut it in half and the foot itself was small. The eel on the eel lover's roll was very small. Would not return again. Wish we didn't waste our money because we all needed another meal after this.
The fish entrees, tuna and grouper, were excellent. We had sushi appetizers which were good, not great. The hamachi roll had very little hamachi inside. Service was enthusiastic in tone, but somewhat slow. Our waiter asked if we wanted bread and after conferring we said yes. Although he confirmed that we said yes, it never came. (Less carbs, no problem.). Even though there were only two of us, he kept on calling us “ladies and gentlemen.” He meant well but it was weirdly off putting. We heard him do the same at on tables where there were not plural members of both sexes. STILL, the menu offerings are wide and inviting; the prices are reasonable; and we will definitely return.
Fantastic as always!
We both had the risotto one with scallops and one with shrimp . Best risotto we have ever had! The wait staff’s attention to my allergy and service was excellent. Even the hostess came to check in on us. We were seated in a quiet room off the main bar and we could hear each other. One of our go to restaurant from now on!
Dover Sole and Chilean Sea Bass were excellent. Mixed Seafood ala Vodka was okay. Seafood Risotto was huge disappointment—Clumps of stringy mozzarella (because Parmesan doesn’t string) overshadowed the dish and once the seafood was gone, the rest of the dish was mushy and inedible.
Very disappointing. It was our first time dining there and we’d heard somewhat good reviews and wanted to try seeing it was by the water. Service was very slow although it was not crowded at all. I have to say that our tuna appetizer was very good but went downhill from there. Risotto should be taken off the menu until they learn how to prepare it. It was a mushy glob if rice. In all aspects very mediocre. Will not be back
The sangrias I ordered, one red & one white, were both delicious....not too sweet, as too many restaurants make them. I had stuffed shrimp and it was very good. I asked to substitute a daily featured vegetable for the asparagus that usually accompanies the shrimp and was more than pleased with the featured vege. It was a mélange of fingerling potatoes, green beans, sautéed onions, and even some corn kernels, and it was delicious. My companion ordered a filet mignon and was happy with it.
Always bring new business folks here and they always walk away felling good about the experience.
Very mediocre in every way. Not bad, but just okay. This would be a nice spot for appetizers and drinks, but leave it at that.
The service was terrible - arrived and restaurant was nearly empty yet took 20 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Food is incredibly expensive and horrible - it was bland - no seasoning
Carmine’s had delicious food from our flat bread to our sea bass .
Prices are reasonable for sea bass compared to other places.
Noisy atmosphere, long bar for sushi. Outdoor tables. Excellent services by staff
Consistently good food. Our waiter Alan was super. Love to sit outside.
The sashimi combo dinner plate was lacking in size for $35.00. The salmon was tasty but a small salad included might have made for a more complete meal. I guess this is the 'price' you pay for using a Groupon.
Tried it out for happy hour first. Great waterfront view and open windows in the bar, you're right next to the boats. All good, and nice HH menu. Unfortunately the raw oysters gave me a little GI distress; I noticed they were different (not blue points) than the dinner menu.
Went back with friends and had dinner at the bar. I had sashimi, they had cooked fish which was delicious. Recommendation: let the customer choose which sashimi fish is ordered; their policy is the chef chooses, and I got one I dislike.
The best sushi in Palm Beach County. It is always fresh and perfectly prepared.
I was so pleasantly surprised. The sushi was amazing, clams on the half shell fresh and served nice and cold on ice. Our server was especially wonderful, friendly and accommodating. We loved it and we will be back!!! The only drawback is the traffic and parking within the Carmine's Market area. That was a horrendous experience and will keep us from coming as often as we'd like.
Excellent food and service. Has.valet parking. Nice varied menu with options for everyone’s taste. In addition to regular menu there were several specials to choose as well.
Out with daughter in town
Consistently good food. Great wine list. The crowd tends to be a little older, do ask for outdoor dining if the weather allows for it.
