Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
We are locals that had friends visiing from St. Louis which they do every 8 months or so. I always ask them where they want to have dinner, same answer everytime, CARMINE'S!!
Great food and fun atmosphere especially for a large group of at least 6 or more. Family style entrees are plentiful. We had 6 adults and ordered two entries with the Carmine's salad and a pasta order of rigatoni with broccoli. Everything was delicious and service outstanding. Our waitress helped us decide on our meal and she was spot on!
Wait to get in despite reservation had us standing in the middle of a group of 15 people also waiting in middle of mall- they have no bar to wait in if your table is not ready. When we did get sat the service was attentive but not pushy and the suggested food was very good. We would return.
First of all you have to order family style which is ok if you are with a large group. However, there are no options to order individually. The food was mediocre. Our server was friendly but very busy with no assistance. Half way through our dinner, one person found a piece of paper in her sauce. It had the word Italy on it. (see picture below.). We asked for the manager and a young man came over and saw the paper and said "I don't know how that could happen since we make everything fresh. It must have come from outside". Insinuating we had put it there. I was shocked at his response and assumed it was because he was inexperienced. He asked what he could do after seeing how upset we were. He offered to comp her one meal but never offered to replace it. He left and came back later with a different tone saying they would comp part of our bill. I am pretty sure anther manager intervened. I would never return to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone.
We’ve been to Carmine’s several times and have officially decided that food is not quite up to par with what we like for Italian food. The service was great, everything was prompt, and the people were very courteous. We just did not like the food and this was our last time confirming it.
Ordered stuffed artichoke. Really nice presentation but 2 whole artichokes were served and only 10% of the product was edible otherwise you'd choke on it. They really should just be serving the artichoke hearts. Family sized pasta ordered with shrimp - only 6 shrimp found in the entire dish!! Ridiculous. The server did an amazing job and I have to give him some credit. Would not recommend to others.
The food and service were both excellent! Our waiter was very attentive and flexible with members of our party arriving at differing times. The meal was excellent as well, we had the Portabella Mushroom Salad, the Porterhouse and the Calamari with red sauce. All were very good. The special event was our daughter's 21st birthday and we had an outside cake delivered to the restaurant. The waiter was gracious enough to offer to serve the cake. All in all it was a nice evening with a great value for a Strip restaurant. (The three items we ordered fed six people and there were left overs!)
The front desk staff was very friendly and very inviting...great start! Service by Corey and support staff was outstanding. And the food? Everything we ordered was exceptional. Get ready for major food coma. Terry, the general manager, and the other manager on duty, Manny, visited our table for a quick chat and ensured we that we were having a great time. Hospitality at its finest. Thank you so much, and we will be returning soon.
Server took a very long time between each visit. She admitted to us that it wasn’t busy when my husband asked about her day and questioned if it was a busy night. Menus are on the wall and hard to see depending on where you are placed. Also, it was my husbands birthday and I had wanted to know if they do any special things for birthdays. I placed this request in my reservation. When I was contacted about my reservation to confirm it I was told that they would see what they could do. Admittedly we were 8 minutes late to our reservation, but if they could or could not accommodate the request for my husband I thought they would at least let me know that they couldn’t. I thought the VERY long wait after we ate was because they were going to come out with some dessert that I would happily pay for, but it wasn’t. Nothing eventful happened...not even a Happy Birthday. Food was ok...not bad, but not anything special. Bus boys were great and more accommodating than our missing waitress. We tipped him separately. Won’t go back.
