Carmine's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I attended for our Anniversary. The restaurant advertised a Happy Hour. When we ordered drinks, we were advised Happy Hour only applies to a VERY small section in the restaurant where the bar is located. If you sit anywhere but the bar in the restaurant there is NO Happy Hour. This is not mentioned in the advertising that we saw.
We asked for a menu and were told the only menus were projected onto the wall of the restaurant. Our waiter suggested we take a photo with my husband's phone so we could read the menu at our table. Not very professional or customer friendly.
Our food was good but once again pricing was deceiving. We ordered the lemon butter veal dish and were told if we wanted it served on pasta there was an extra charge.
All in all the food was good but the pricing in the place was very deceiving. We will not be back as we truly felt taking advantage of with the pricing in this restaurant.
This was honestly the worst experience I could have imagined. Reserved a table for a special trip with friends, and I was embarrassed.
They literally had no menus. Even when we asked, we were directed to the projection screen to order from. I’m sorry, but when I’m spending $30 -40 on an entree, give the people I’m with something to read and understand. I felt bad for the waiter, not his fault their business practices are ridiculous. We walked out and went to the place next to it (much better). Ps. Feel free to look at my yelp of many people taking pictures of the big screen menu to take back to their table.... (are you kidding me!?!?!?)
Large place so was easy to get a last minute reservation prior to a show. Large portions and shared with our table of 4 a salad and a pasta dish. The Carmine salad was tasty and had adequate goodies (meat/veggies) but was pricey for the up charge to include the extra meats. The white sauce and clams was okay. Pasta was prepared well (al dente) but sauce was somewhat bland and the clams were too chewy. Had that dish in NY and was delightful but would not reorder in Las Vegas. Service was great.
Food was great but lack comittment!
I mention in the reservation it was my birthday but they didn’t care.
I ordered champagne for two to toast the occasion and for my surprise champagne was served in a same type of glass they served water. Some years ago a celebrate my birthday at Carmine’s New York. It was perfect, different from Vegas.
Thanksgiving Lunch , reserved ahead yet took 20 minutes to get to the table, food was cold when served . Veggies undercooked , dry turkey. Waitress very uninterested in making us have an enjoyable experience . Very disappointed .
Awsome and great family style italian food!!! cool american/italian ambiance, nice decoration and great music; great taste and freshness of ingredients, nice selection of beverages and great service, better for groups but if two are hungry... go for it!!! at the worst scenario you can take the left overs home ;)
This was our second visit in a month’s time. Each time we dine here, we try to bring a large group because the food and atmosphere are very conducive to this. As usual, the food and drinks were great. The service left something to be desired. Our server suggested several drinks, and when 3 of us went with Peroni’s and only one ordered a cocktail, I could sense he was annoyed. We went there knowing exactly what we wanted to order because we wanted to show our newest guest the range of yummy Italian food Carmine’s had to offer. When we politely declined the server’s suggestions (one of which just didn’t sound like something we would like and one of which seemed to serve as a mere up-sell), he became somewhat dismissive. He also thought it was appropriate to inform us that he drove a Mercedes and did very well for himself—completely inappropriate share! By the end of the meal, he just picked up the check and curtly told us “thank you.”
I spoke with the manager in an effort to provide him with some constructive criticism and even told him I didn’t want to appear snarky or discourteous. I told him how we dine there at least once a year and how we have had positive experiences and wonderful service up to this point. He was very receptive and thanked me for letting him know.
We will return again soon but will ask not to have this same server in the future. If you are looking for excellent food and great service, you should dine here. Particular favorites are the meatballs, manicotti, and chicken scallopine.
I usually do not leave reviews unless it was an exceptionally good or terrible experience. This is a horrible experience. The service here is terrible. I would give No stars if I could. We had two waiters, I’m assuming one was training the other. Couldn’t tell which was which. We had to ask for things several times, our appetizer was never put in, came out after we were done eating our meal. They refilled my husbands coke with tea, and my tea with coke. That was a disgusting shock when we went to drink. The restaurant was not busy and our “waiters” spent most of their time goofing off with the bartender. We had oringinally ate Carmine’s in NYC and it was fantastic, service and food. This location is a disgrace to the brand. Don’t waste your time or money.
