Carmine's simple and very popular concept is to serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast - which means large portions of home-style antipasti, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on large platters designed for sharing. An entree here could easily feed three to four average eaters. If you are in the market for better than average family style Italian food that is served in huge portions at reasonable prices, this is the place for you.

We celebrated a special occasion and were thoroughly pleased with the entire experience. We were seated exactly at out reservation time and all aspects of the experience were above expectations. Outstanding value and service.

Had a 7:30 Friday night reservation with my wife. We were seated right away. The service was right on the spot. Huge portions excellent food and drink. Toughest decision was on what to order. We go to AC every three months. We always make sure to have a meal at Carmine’s.

Don’t mind paying for alcohol but $11 for a small juice glass of house wine was very disappointing. Everything else about our meal and service was exceptional. But that alcohol bill put a damper on what could have been an excellent experience

Food was outstanding however, when it came time to pay my bill there was a discrepancy over a drink. Then a discrepancy over a Visa card (I was told visa will only allow 80% of my bill
to be charged to the card) after it was processed, leaving $20 on the visa gift card available. I’ve never experienced this w/a visa gift card and there is nothing stated in the terms that states this. Then my waiter Michael
brought back the wrong change. The whole process took an extremely long time, much longer than it should have honestly.

We came for dinner with another couple for a total of 4 of us. We ordered the fried calamari and baked clam for an appetizer. It was enough food to feed an army. We were told we couldn’t order a half order. We were so full we didn’t even want to order an entree. We did though it was the pasta special with sausage and sopresatta. We were there at 7pm and was told there was no more of that particular special left. How do you run out of food at 7 pm?? Very disappointing.

Vacation dinner out - this is dining family style so the prices are for 3-4 people per platter. We ordered chicken alla Romano & shrimp scampi. The chicken dish was really good but the shrimp scampi was excellent. With that being said keep in mind you have to pay an additional cost for pasta with the shrimp scampi. That could be with other dinners too but we did not ask. The chicken alla Romano was not on their chicken menu it was on their house special menu. It was listed for Monday & another day. Overall it was a nice dinner out.

My husband and I have eaten at Carmine's many times in Atlantic City and with family in NYC. We have always enjoyed the food and thought it was worth the cost and that's why we frequent Carmine's when we are in A.C. Unfortunately, when we were there on August 9 with our 2 guests, the amount of food served was far less than we had in the past; each dish did not even feed 2-3 people even though it is family-style. We had 2 appetizers; one was zuppa de muscles (which we had before). The dish had plenty of plum tomatoes and few muscles. It was very disappointing. We also had the shrimp fra diavolo and added a serving of pasta to the dish. Again, there was more pasta than shrimp; barely enough shrimp for 2 people. We also ordered a chicken dish and again added a serving of pasta. This, too, barely fed 2. The service was only ample; we had to ask for a bread basket after waiting almost half an hour and noticed guests arriving after us received their bread sooner than we did and we never got the butter we requested. In addition to the food, we had one mixed drink and 3 sodas; the bill, with tax and tip, was almost $215. I write to bring your attention to these facts so that you could remedy the situation rather than have your guests choose another restaurant if they experience the same disappointment in the food and service as we did. Of course you know your success depends on this and we hope you can remedy these issues.

We’ve been here many times with large groups and just the 2 of us but this was sadly our last time. Apparently they only serve COLD bread and no way to warm it?!? And you can only order half portions near the bar which, of course, is where they should seat all tables for two. So we spent $98 for veal parm, eggplant parm, cold bread and olive oil. We sat next to a huge loud party next to the waiter station. Very disappointing. The only good thing was our amazing waiter who deserves to work in a better place. Don’t bother wasting your money here.

Food was impeccable. Had the penne a la vodka with the chicken Marsala. Perfection. The family style meal fed 4 people with more to spare. We were tempted to have the Titanic desert but was unsure if we would be able to finish it without gorging ourselves. We settled for the Tug Boat and we were satisfied. Only comment we would share is that we wish the bread was warmed and if the Tug Boat is half of what the Titanic desert would be, then accordingly it should be half the cost, not reduced by $7.

Our familys favorite restaurant. We had our daughters 17th Birthday here on Thursday. It was great!! The food was amazing as was the service. Our waiter had the entire place sing to her. She was overwhelmed with joy and told me and her daddy it was the best birthday she ever had. We ordered our Ceasar salad and Penne alla vodka, highly recommend!! Thank you Carmines,
we will see you soon!!

We came to Carmine's after another local Italian restaurant would not respond to our reservation requests - and I'm so glad they didn't, because this ended up being the perfect dinner! Our server was so friendly & knowledgeable, and our cocktails, wine, and water were never empty. We ordered chicken parm for 2 and it was fresh and delicious. Dinner here was the highlight of a very complicated AC trip, and we'll definitely be back.

Wanted to revisit while being in the area since we enjoyed it so a year before. I made online reservations for 7 pm on a Tuesday. It was not busy. We arrived and were promptly seated in the back of the restaurant where there was no hope of viewing the menus that are on the walls. Our waitress Debbie promptly came to our table and we mentioned we could not really see the menu and did not offer a hand held version so after asking for water and some wine we went to our phones and viewed the menu online. Debbie returned and we asked some questions and she answered detailed and we placed our order, there were 4 of us we had ceasar salad, chicken saltenbuka, and meatballs and capellini. When the salad was delivered by a runner, it was dropped off and he literally ran away, we had no salad plates for quite some time, we asked the next person we saw and he never came back then a busboy passed and he found us some, but we had to so some work to get a plate to begin our meal. No one checked in on us. About 25 min more the food arrives again a runner drops it off and the chicken dish looks like veal... so we decide to start with the spaghetti and balls until someone comes back and about 5 min in the runner did return when he realized he brought the wrong dish to our table .... we waited for another 5 min for our chicken dish... Debbie stopped by to check in... this was the last time we see Debbie until we were finished with our meal. We had no water and had to ask for a refill, overall the service and table location ruined the experience. The food was very good but the service was lackluster.

My husband and I go atleast once a month we absolutely love it there, we went on Sunday and the air conditioning was broken, we were dripping wet in sweat for dinner and not once did someone come to apologize for the inconvenience of the unit breaking. Also our server was very slow. Taking forever for water which we needed because it was so hot. Plus I’m
6 months pregnant so I was miserable because of heat and hungry but took forever to get. Of course we will come back because we love it there but very aggravated with our most recent visit.
