Carmine's simple and very popular concept is to serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast - which means large portions of home-style antipasti, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on large platters designed for sharing. An entree here could easily feed three to four average eaters. If you are in the market for better than average family style Italian food that is served in huge portions at reasonable prices, this is the place for you.

I've always loved the food at Carmine's. It's consistently good, especially the Shrimp Parmagiana. The drinks were awesome too!!

Food, service and ambiance were excellent however the restaurant was very loud - the loudest we have ever experienced and definitely louder than we preferred. We ate quickly and left to escape the noise.

Made a dinner reservation for two prior to attending a show at the casino. Carmine's is geared more to families of four or more. The meals are too expensive when ordering for two; you need to limit your choices or you will be ordering a massive take-out dinner. They should offer couples meals that are appropriately sized and diverse. We'll know better next time.

As always food was great. Unfortunately our waitress disappeared fir over an hour. We never got refills. We were never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. We even had to ask for bread. When it became time for us to leave we had to ask a waiter if they had seen our waitress. We needed the check because we had a show to catch. She finally came by and apologized but we were already upset. Never had that type of experience before in Carmines.

Service was very bad. Made a reservation in advanced but reached late due to snow and explained them once reached at restaurant. Not sure what the story was with Angela (our server) but she was pathetic. It took her 15 minutes to bring her refills of water. During those 15 minutes, we looked at her and she was talking to other guests and laughing. When asked for couple of minutes to review menu, it took her 15 minutes to come back at our table to take our order. When asked for more breads, she came back after 20 minutes, they were out of breads. This was my 2nd visit to Carmine's in AC. I recommend to my friends because I had great experience first time around. I'm not coming back again. I have visited many restaurants in East coast. This has to be the worse experience of service.

Food was quick to arrive since there were very few guests in restaurants due to bad weather.

Waitress was tired, seemed annoyed-wanting to leave. We ordered the special which was meat mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. It was ok, not worth the $99 that it cost. Disappointed we didn’t try a pasta meal. Wish our waitress was more friendly. Couldn’t get in until 10pm (made reservation day before) felt rushed.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner on Saturday night at Carmine's in Atlantic City. We had a reservation and were taken immediately. When the hostess noticed that we had my elderly in-laws, she had a table set downstairs so that we didn't have to worry about getting them up the stairs. Our waiter was excellent as well as all the staff. We will definitely be back.

Although I found Carmine's to be good, I like Tony's Di Napoli on 43rd Street in NYC. Although they are similar in serving family style, menu on the wall and Italian cuisine; Tony's food taste better.

Went there for Valetines Day with my husband, 3 children, and my mother in law. The meal was amazing, everything came out quickly, and the staff was very helpful. We were so happy with our choice! Can't wait to go back! Just a side note they do love their garlic, which is ok with us!

This is a wonderful place to eat. Everything is great except the portions of too large even for a family style eating. It makes it very hard to eat more than 2 or 3 things. If you are staying in the hotels, you do not want to take with you 2 or 3 meals with you to eat at another time. Way too big portions for parties of four unless you only get 2 or 3 things, which always seems to be the type of parties at the tables. 5 or more you are set for those huge portions.

My girlfriend and I was there on the week of Valentine's Day, and she loved it so much. That was her first time and my 2nd time at Carmine's . The food was excellent, and huge. It was enough to feed more than 2 people. Moreover, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality.

Husband and I were there for dinner the night before Valentines Day. It wasn't too crowded and we were seated immediately at time of reservation. Waitress was excellent and everything we ordered was perfect. We love the bread which can fill you up before you eat, but it's a splurge we have to enjoy as we dip into the oil. Even though it was Tuesday which has their special of rack of lamb, this time we weren't starved so we ordered the Carmine's house salad as our main course, which was immense, filled with tender greens, fresh vegetables, ripe tomatoes and an abundance of chopped meats and cheeses, topped with olives and green pepperoncinis in a delicious oil and vinegar dressing. We literally left over half so we'd have enough room to share a chocolate torta and fresh whipped cream, which is divine. Plus we had half a salad for lunch the next day and half the torta. Way too much food for one meal but great for leftovers. We eat here on special occasions. If we ate here more often, we'd get used to it and it wouldn't be as special as it is. Perfect dinner for Valentines Day!

My family and friends came here for my birthday dinner and made a reservation ahead of time. We all stayed at the hotel, so my family and myself were the first to arrive for dinner. Unfortunately, the hostess refused to have us sit down, and we were told the entire party had to get there at the same time. My friends were running late, so my children were running around outside the restaurant, and people were bumping in to them left and right. The hostess would rather have an empty table inside than have my children, my husband, and myself go and sit and wait, maybe even order some drinks. Finally, after 15 minutes, I had to tell the hostess to let us in because my child has special needs and he can't be waiting outside having people bump into him. She actually asked us if we were going to order anything before we could go in! We eat out at many restaurants, and this is the first time I've ever encountered anything like this! Finally after agreeing that we would order without our friends (!!!) she let us through to the empty table. After my friends shortly arrived, the dinner went smoothly, with a few exceptions. I asked for a mojito, and it was completely not what a mojito was supposed to be, so I sent it back. Then I ordered the linguine with white clams, and they actually ran out of clams. HOW? You're in Atlantic City, seafood is everywhere, so there goes that option. The one thing I can say that is constant about this place, is the food. The food and the service actually. The food is always amazing, but the service is always horrible. They never show up when you need them, and only when you're still eating, they ask to clean the table! They really need to get friendlier hosts and servers here. Overall, we should have went to Cuba Libre, they are 100% way more friendlier, livelier, and never ever make you feel like you owe THEM a favor!

We had three different server's due to the other two server's going on break. We ordered mussels, a few of us got very sandy mussels. We will not order again and the rest of the food tasted delicious by out of 6, 4 of us ended up with stomach issues. Typically, we like Carmine's but we really did not love it this time and probably won't return.
