Carmine's is a wonderful place to experience great dining. The food is outstanding, plentiful, and enough to take home!
The food and the service were excellent! Lots of left-overs. Yum!
Alles hat wie immer gepasst.
Always delicious! Baked clams to die for and country style pasta. So good.
Very good family style Italian food. Service was prompt and friendly and the server did an excellent job of explaining the different entrees. Family style portions are huge so plan on taking a doggie bag home!
portions are enormous , value for money is an understatement
I always enjoy this place. I've been coming here for different occasions for more than 15 years. Always awesome a mind the shrimp parmigiana is my favorite along with the baked clams. Best ever!
Service was not good. Waiter was nice, but very busy and not attentive. We ordered an appetizer, a salad and an entree for four of us (it was plenty), the problem was they brought out the large app and large salad at the same time (moments after we ordered). Besides the fact the table was to small for all that, I asked them to take the salad back till the appetizer was enjoyed, they did. Food was great but be prepared for them to turn over the table at their pace not yours.
Carmine's is a New York landmark. I don't think anyone goes there for gourmet food, but for what it is, it works. In my party there were vegans, gluten-free and vegetarians along with omnivores. We had a good time. No complaints about the food . The dairy free and gluten free menus made ordering easy. Service was passable. They may have been short staffed. We were there for a 1pm Sunday meal. Also, waiter didn't write down all of our party of 9 order. He made mistakes. Unfortunate. Over all it was what was expected and we had a good time.
Food is always amazing, moscato was delicious, waiters are extremely polite, one waiter was nice to grab my doggy bag off the floor and hand to me. Recommend anytime! Will definitely go again.
It was an overall nice experience. The wait with a RSVP was a little out of control.... had a reservation for 7:30pm for a Birthday and didn’t get seated until AFTER 9pm. I will say a party member was running a little behind so that did set us back, but we were told the table wasn’t ready yet anyway which was buying us time. There were other parties there in full and were also told their table wasn’t ready. Once our full party was there, we were told several times that we were up next for our party size. We were told that the table was having dessert and then paying the bill like 3 different times. The hostess ladies were very nice- again they kept talking in circles about the table being ready, but were very nice and professional. Which we can appreciate, especially in a BUSY restaurant setting. We definitely like this location over Times Square.
The food and the waiters were great the reason I didn't give this restaurant more stars is because of how they handle reservations and also how they manage things when its packed. It was a bit of a mess. Also, the front of house staff were less than friendly. I know when its busy its hard to be super attentive but they all just seemed to have major attitudes which is not to best way to begin one's dining experience.
The overall experience was good! Our waiter was great! BUT the check in was AWFUL! We had a reservation and was told it would be a few minutes and they’d call us when our table was ready after 25 mins we asked approximately when they thought we would be seated and they told us our table was just paying so “very soon”. After 20 more mins we checked and we told our party was not all present (which we had been for 50 mins) and then they realized it was a different party that was marked not here. So it took another 15 to be seated - and no apology was given - no compensation- we ended up being seated an hour after our reservation
No wait on a Saturday night at 6:30pm AND it was a holiday - a pleasant surprise! We dined for 3 hrs and never felt rushed throughout our dining experience. This is not the place for a quiet romantic date due to the noisy group atmosphere ( I don't think I spotted a single table for 2 - everyone here was in a group).
Between the 6 of us, we shared 2 Appetizers, 1 Entree, 1 Dessert , and 6 Alcoholic beverages. The bill came out to about about $30+ per person plus tip (not terribly expensive but a bit costly considering the small amount of food that was shared).
Everything was tasty but my favorites were the Fried Calamari (so tender & delicious including the marinara sauce), the Red Wine Sangria (large glass, not too strong or too weak & delicious) and the unlimited complimentary bread that they bring to your table (the bread with the tomato spread on top & the one with onions on top were so good).
I've eaten at Carmine's for decades and this is the first time I left disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to go all out on a $95 steak, ordered it medium rare and it came out well-done. No juices. Dry. Difficult to cut through with a knife. When we explained this to the waiter, he didn't seem to care. Very disappointed.
Great food & service!
Carmines is one of my favorite restaurants unfortunately on this occasion the food got everyone sick. I’m not sure what went wrong but it was bad 😩
I love Carmine’s but the meatball was very very salty Saturday. I felt bad because I recommend the meatballs to my friends
Huge portions, and Eddie was amazing! Great experience.
Loved this location! Thought I had booked the Times Square location and didn't realize I had not until we were getting int he Uber to go. So glad that I made the mistake though bc this location was jsut what we needed for our 1 year anniversay dinner! Much more quaint of a location than Times Square, but still had the energetic atmosphere. Food was amazing - as always and our server, Rich, was on point with drinks and refills the entire evening. My husband and I plan on making this location our new go-to!
Main dining room is impossibly loud. We were in the small dining room behind the bar which was much better. The portion sizes are huge - one entree can easily feed four. It was far too much food for two but if you can take left-overs home it’s fine. The food was delicious had the service was excellent.
Wonderful experience. Excellent service. Delicious food offerings.
Excellent service and food. I could not of asked for a better place.
Wonderful atmosphere - authentic old New York. Large round tables are great. Noise level is rough. Great for group of friends and families. Price is right.
Restaurant is beautiful and homey! Wait staff is nice and hospitable. Food is delicious and LARGE servings.
Great food / great service. We love coming to Carmine’s for family style. Portions are HUGE.
Carmine's was recommended by a friend. My family and I had a lovely evening, it was my Brothers birthday. Our waitress Amanda was awesome. Thank you will definitely be back.
The atmosphere and the food was great. The wait staff were efficient and courteous. I would definitely recommend Carmines for any occasion.
Portion were huge and food was good. The service was poor.
The waiter pushed for us to order way too much food. Our group was 8 people but 4 were small children. He pressed us to order for 8 adults. We won’t be back.
They sat us right away; we were a party of 5 however they squeezed us in a very tight corner, I am clostrophobic was uncomftable. The waitress forgot to put our order in and only realized after waiting for about 40 minutes . It was a family dinner but way too noisy , had to talk loud to speak so everyone could hear. I was disappointed in the chicken cutlets 2 pieces for 35 or 38 dollars, it cool
Gathered with family to celebrate my mom's 75th birthday, waiters and satff very attentive and wonderful , food was very salty. My only complain was that everything we ordered was salty. Everything from the salad to the shrimp scampi , the steak everything was EXTREMELY SALTY.
Family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food was delicious. Sangria was great. We enjoyed being able to have a wonderful family dinner. Our waiter was personable & full of humor.
Great food and great service! Looking forward to visiting again!
So good and great service.
Friends moving away
Once again, Carmine's comes through for the special occasion family dinner. Our party of five was at the restaurant the same time as another party of at least 60 people, a separate party of 25 or so and then other smaller parties and they didn't miss a beat. Food appeared timely, fresh and hot. My only complaint is that we needed more people to justify ordering all of the food I wanted to try.
We have been to this Carmines location several times...Preferable over the Times Square location because of parking.
Food always great, servers always kind and gracious..
It was amazing and delicious!!
