Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
Huge portions of excellent pasta. I’ve been before but what made me write a review was our waiter Austin. He was professional and passionate about everything Carmine’s. His descriptions of The specials were outstanding. He sounded like a good magazine writer in his descriptions. I’ve always encountered good, well trained wait staff here. He was outstanding and made out evening even better. Congratulations to the manager who got this person to work for them.
Delicious food (enormous portions - be ready!) and friendly and welcoming service, a must visit place in NYC.
We didn't get seated until 20mins after our actual reservation time. The food was amazing but I was very displeased about the filthy glassware that was for our water.
We have been there many times and have had some great times. That’s being said, this time was not quite the experience for the new faces I brought along with me. We got some glass with lipstick on it. We ordered some chicken wings with the spicy sauce on the side (like we have always ordered them) and we got it regular. Ordered two Long Island ice tea and took 35 mins to get them, I had already finished my appetizer when it arrived. The server did seem to care much for us. I think they can do better.
Very good food - but we made our reservation for 830, they didn’t take us till 900.
Once we sat down and ordered our drinks & apps - they asked us to move tables to another section to accommodate a larger party.
To noises hard to talk or hear the young lady that I was with but other then that everything else was great
Good job guys
This was my first time eating at this restaurant, and have no doubts that I will again. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive but not overly so. The inside decor was fantastic to see. The food was outstanding and ample! We had plenty to take home for later! I am truly looking forward to getting the chance to have dinner here again!
Great food, energetic vibe and good for families or date night.
Carmines is and have always been a great place for large to small groups. The Hostess could have been more accommodating by letting us sit with only 1 person running late. I really didnt think 1 chair should have made a difference but the evening was great with my cousins
Absolutely fantastic food and great service by our waiter Charlie. Only complaint was the noise level - it was a Friday night at 7;30 and really busy and LOUD! But yummy food!!!!
The food was amazing and the staff were on point and very intensive to your needs. It a great family place. Best Italian food ever!!
It was decent. No real complaints. It's probably better to come to this on than the one on 42nd street.
Alway have a great meal here! Bring your friends!!
Great time ! Will for sure go back. And the staff was so nice when I wanted to move up my reservation.
Service was good food was nice and hot customer service was excellent we had a great time for my mother Birthday Celebration. thank You
A long time family favorite has lost its charm and quality. Really bad service, very loud music, but still good food!
One of my favorite NYC restaurants. Great food, service and terrific place for friends to meet.
Great food! Amazing service, will be back soon
Considering that it was a Special occasion (Mother's Day) it was GREAT. We were seat right away based on our reservations, however our waiter was not the best.
Great service. Attention to detail. Our host, Eddie, was very nice and attentive. Great experience on Mother’s Day.
Food was excellent and our server Raheem was awesome! We ordered the shrimp scampi, lasagna and carmine salad. The only negative experience we encounter was with the receptionist Paola Roe and the general manager Jillian Sanche. They were both very rude and disrespectful to my mother on MOTHERS DAY. We had a reservation and when we got here we told the receptionist Paola the two others of the party would be here in 2 minutes. The receptionist Paola told us very rude that we couldn't sit if the whole party wasn't here and when we asked why she said I'm the manager and those are the rules! Once the rest of the party got here at 4pm (which was our reservation time) she said we had to wait 30mins for a table. We then asked to speak with another manager and that's when Jillian Sanchez appeared. We kept asking telling her that we had a reservation and we were all here and Jillian Sanchez said, if you keep making comments I will not sit you. I will never again visit this restaurant due to this experience. It's sad that you work in customer service and you lack basic manners. Even when we asked Jillian for her business card she gave us attitude. I will not be coming back to any business that's incorporated with Carmine due to Paola Roe receptionist and Jillian Sanchez general manager. Please have the people that represent your brand trained!
Ive been eating here for 15 years. It was mother's day. we were sat in the middle of traffic with waiters walking and jostling us. They moved us to a cold cramped corner. My eight year old got a bad cold from it. The waiter forgot to read the specials. Only did so when prompted. He brought tap water instead of offering bottled water. The proseco was of cheap quality. The calamari was overfried and was too small for a party of 5. They charged us for the large calamari but served the small. The salad was too busy. They messed up the timing of the food. The seafood pasta came gluten free in error so they fixed it by throwing tasteless pasta in with the original now cold seafood instead of recreating the whole dush. Only One lobster were two shrimp in the whole dish. The prime rib was good but the potatoes with skins on weren't washed properly so we're gritty and tasted of dirt. The bread was not fresh. Something bad is happening at carmines. 350$ gone to waste.
Our server Danielle was truly spectacular. She very attentive and knew her way around the menu to compliment our large family. Always a pleasure dinning in at this location, thank you!
This is a large, bustling, handsome space with a large selection of southern Italian staples. Portions are huge and meant to be shared. A salad, an appetizer, one pasta and one entrée was more than six of us could eat. Service was terrific. Our waiter helped us navigate these truly unusual portions and saved us some money on an accompanying pasta for a meat entrée ($12) rather than ordering the pasta separately ($30).
The sticking point is the food. Everything was too salty for me, and I'm a salt lover. Pasta was at least a minute past al dente, and of course suffers from being spread over a large serving platter; it chills to room temperature almost instantly. Come for the experience by all means, but not for the fare.
It was loud, the chicken marsala portion was so small it could feed one person- really disappointed would not return.
Although we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time, once we were seated, the service was timely. The food was excellent!
What a great place to eat the food is the best and the service as well.
I had a 3:30pm reservations but got there early. It was very busy being that it was Mothers Day weekend. When I told the host i was a bit early she looked at her computer and said its ok and sat us at a table. The staff was amazing!!
My family and I had great time. The food was great and service was excellent. This place is one of my favorite place to it eat.
A bit chaotic- it was Mother’s Day weekend after all- but staff was mostly nice and wait staff was great! Food was great as well!
Waitress walked out and no one came to cover our table. I had to hunt down a manager.
The food was fantastic as usual and our server Richard did a great job. The place is loud as it’s family style and people bring their families to eat mountains of food. It’s a pretty great place and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Charles provides great service and had us literally laughing all night.
Best Family Style Rest. in Manhattan. Quiet atmosphere--excellent food and staff.
The only issue was that our reservation wasn't on the host list, but they found a table for us anyway...
Moving out of NYC
Rica comida y abundante, con un plato comen 4 personas tranquilamente. Buena atención de Danielle, uno se siente muy a gusto alli.
Love family style dining everyone loved the food. The scraperllia wings were absolutely delicious .
We were there for an end of the year team dinner. Our server, Eddie, was attentive and quick. The food quantity was huge. I highly recommend the Titanic to end the meal with a large group. Our group had alot of fun. I wish the noise level was less and that there would be more light, but overall, we had a great time.
Carmine’s has always been my go-to restaurant when it comes to big family gathering, and this time they did not disappoint. Our table was ready for us from the moment we got in. We were seated at a nice family-like environment. The food and drink choices were great. The waiters were courteous, timely and attentive despite the fact it was quite a busy evening. And, don't forget to try the Titanic desert if you have a big size group with you. You'll really be impressed with the shear size of it and its tastiness. Overall, we loved it.
