Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests “wow-factor” sized portions and making every meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast.

The food was excellent. They definitely serve family size portions so plenty of food to share amongst myself and my friends. However, I was disappointed with the set up for outdoor dining. The space was not enclosed with a door so people from the street were able to walk inside the tent which was uncomfortable. Also without the door the heat did not stay within the tent so you got cold rather quick.
Amazing experience, while there wasn’t any indoor siding as mandated by the city, the outdoor finding didn’t feel like your typical outdoor, the area was well heated and very comfortable
Amazing restaurant with amazing wait staff. Food was delicious and MORE than enough for our table. Gave it a low score for ambiance because seating was outdoors (thanks Covid). Otherwise, restaurant looks quite lovely inside. Will be back again! Hopefully with indoor dining *fingers crossed*
Always a treat at Carmines. Even during Covid! Antonio our server was great!
Unfortunately it was during outside dining only during Covid. The tents were lacking as were the heaters. It was pouring and windy, too cold to really enjoy out evening. The meal was great. The waiter did the best he could under the circumstances.
The food was delicious and the service, amazing. The portions are huge so unless you go with a big group or are starving don’t order so much. I went with 5 other people and we had two entrees. Definitely had left overs. Due to COVID we had to sit outside, under heaters. The heating systems were good and the dinner was enjoyable. 10/10 recommend!
Sane awesome quality food but out doors we went early and they were working on heating so was a bit cold but never a bad time 😂
Food was excellent. Service was not good. The waiter was extremely nice but he was frazzled. There aren’t many tables so I’m not sure what the problem was.
The staff was excellent. The food came out fresh and hot. I look forward to coming back again
For not being allowed to dine indoors due to Cuomo's ridiculous order, Carmine's did an excellent job of creating as comfy an outdoor dining atmosphere as possible. The food was fantastic as well as the service. There were five of us so we had a table closer to the building which helped with the cold and wind. It was recommended to us by friends, formerly from New York, and I would definitely go back. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars for ambiance and noise level is because it was outside, totally out of Carmine's control. The inside was charming and we would have loved to have experienced a meal indoors. I highly recommend!
The best italian restaurant in NYC, big plates, no chances to leave hungry and the food was amazing
Staff great. Really trying to make outdoor dining work great. Food not very good. Portions as generous as ever
Last night for indoor dining and the atmosphere was full of energy! Family style portions are huge so you definitely want to take home the left-overs!
Food was disgusting. Didn’t get my right order. Had to call the manager it was just all bad
Antonio was great! Food was incredible! Everyone was super- impressed!
Food and service were outstanding
Friendly waiter and great service. The chicken parmigiana was delicious.
Get ready for family sized portions. Best for three or more diners.
The food was amazing! We had the chicken special dish which came with roasted red potatoes. Delicious! Also the angel hair pasta with clam sauce was also delicious! Our server Chris was very pleasant and attentive. Definitely will come back!
One of my favorite restaurants! Please support your local establishment during this trying time.
My small xmas dinner this year. Charlie my chosen waiter was friendly and super.
such a treat- super nice waiters and staff---felt safe-
Exactly the type of top notch service and food expected from Carmines. Almost every staff member checked to make sure we didn’t need anything, the food was excellent, and everyone interacted with my kids and made them feel like they were stars. Travel from out of state at least once a year to eat here. Cleanliness was perfect.
Love this place such amazing food!! Each time I come here the experience is always amazing. Def recommend making a reservation.
Our server Charlie was amazing. He’s very personable and makes it a true experience for first timers. We’ll be back soon only if Charlie is our server!
Everything was awful. The food was garbage, and they made us eat outside in the freezing rain
We always come to NY during Christina’s time and for the last 3 years we have been going to Carmines on 44th, which has been wonderful every time. This year with the pandemic, the 44th location is closed and we booked the other location on Broadway. When I made the reservation weeks ago, if not a month ago, I mentioned it was a birthday dinner. They set us outside, under a tent, with a hole on a plastic, water from the street splashing on my face as cars passed by, absolutely no heating in place, table was bouncing, they set a group of 4 girl collage students beside us, not respecting the 6 feet social distancing (this girls were annoying, talking loud and absolutely not considerate of others).
Service wasn’t good, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco which we had open and serve ourselves, our appetizer arrived before our silverware.
NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY DIDNT ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT WE WERE CELEBRATING A SPECIAL OCCASION!
Simply disappointing.
I thought the service was par if that. because we had a lot of kids the servers didn't pay much attention to us, meanwhile we are the best tippers as I was a waitress and my husband a bar tender. I thought the young ladies taking temperatures were rude and snobby! Don't think Ill be coming back for awhile and will not recommend anytime soon.
Loved our waiter!
Food was fresh not along wait to seat or to eat lol
Service was great !
We ordered one plate for both of us to share, and both went home with a large portions of left overs.
The food was great with big portions to take home and the staff was great and a very COVID safe restaurant
The food was delicious, our server Alex was amazing! An extraordinary experience,
Great evening
O loved everything!
Great family style meals are perfect for celebrating with family and friends.
By far one of the best family style places to eat food is excellent service is good
Service was excellent. The food was outstanding. We had the penne ala vodka and chicken romana. The portions are huge.
It was my first time here in New York. I was highly recommended to go here to try pasta!!! After been traveling for United States for 2 years I came here and this was the first place that I went. Service was 4 from 10. Communication 5 from 10. I order an entree for $13 and on the check was 22. I was just expecting more from the restaurant.
There was something in the salad we ordered, didn't say anything but that detracted from the rating.
