Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests “wow-factor” sized portions and making every meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast.
Platters of made to order pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's!

I love carmines. The ambiance, food and service is always on point. Don’t hesitate to book.
Love the family place restaurant. The food is good and a lot. Need to go with 4 or more to Est all.
No one came to our table for 20 minutes after we were seated. Then it took more time to get served bread and water. The food was delicious but the extremely large servings are not suitable for a couple going out for dinner.
Hugh portions, server was very informative.. classic New York feel.. highly recommended for a large group…. Very inexpensive to be honest. We ended up leaving with a lot of food due to the large amounts they serve per dish.
Carmine’s is a New York tradition. The food is excellent and PLENTIFUL. The service is great. We have been going to dinner at Carmine’s since the early 90s.
Good value with family size portions, great service.
you cant go wrong, larger than life delicious portions to fill you up
Awesome place for generous portions
Food was amazing. Alex was super great, patient with my family. My whole latina family was super happy with the experience.
It’s family style of course which is a plus. The food was just ok overcooked chicken Marsala. Shrimp were not spicy as stated sauce too thick. Would not go back. But the service was good
Seated quickly in nice location. Great waitress and staff. Very festive atmosphere. Bread and oil served quickly. Entree VERY BLAND. had to and a ton of seasoning.
Wonderful evening. Service was good but noisy. Need better acoustics to muffle the sounds. Still our favorite place to dine
Great food and terrific ambience. We arrived an hour early and they were able to accommodate our group and get us seated - fantastic customer service!!
I think it was just a bad day. The server was great he tried to get a manager to changed my table that was too small with those large portion plates, when no manager came he took it upon himself to move us to a better table, so the servers made my day
I did not order anything because
I lost my appetite so my daughter ordered chicken parmigiana mind you the table bread was cold so she also ordered garlic bread. I had a beer calmed my spirit and ordered some mussels.
Birthday for son. Service was great. Pasta was outstanding but the chicken Marsala was average at best.
Carmine’s never disappoints!!
Carmines made our Thanksgiving celebration excellent as always. Great food, drinks, and service.
Perfect Thanksgiving dinner in NYC.
I have loved Carmine's since it opened so many years ago. We decided not to cook this Thanksgiving and went to Carmine's instead. We sat outside with a heater above us. The Waitstaff, Hostess, Manager and Security Guards were all so warm and welcoming, The food, as always was GREAT!
Fabulous as usual! Great service and delicious food!! Hard to visit NYC without a stop here at Carmine’s
Family had a wonderful time!
We went for the Thanksgiving dinner for the 2nd year in a row. It was Amazing. Charlie was our waiter and he was the best waiter I’ve ever had. Thank you so much Carmines!!
We had a very nice time. The food was excellent and so was the service. The servers were friendly and attentive.
Good food - Great service - Large family style portions
Great ambience. Wait staff a bit pushy with their 'friendliness', but no issue.
Could tell from our leftovers the next day that the chef is quite heavy on the butter.
Not sure it's our kind of place. But given the high reputation, we had to go and see for ourselves, and glad we did.
This place was excellent! Actually we didn’t go to the one on 91st we went to a different one, and they accommodated us by sitting us at the bar. The food was impeccable and we had a great time!!
Extremely rude staff. Do not go here. After waiting to get into the restaurant, waiting to speak to the hostess to be seated and waiting a ridiculous length of time for our food a very rude manager came to our table the second the check arrived and shouted at us, “I need this table.” We were not at the table beyond the allotted time and any delay was due to their very slow kitchen. We were also told that the outdoor dining was enclosed and heated and it is not so we ate in winter coats. One of the worst dining experiences we have had.
Great place to eat for a family of 4
A staple in the NYC restaurant scene. Always going to get a good meal. I gotta say the meatballs just aren’t what they are supposed to be. Salty, too dense. For a large group of people or a business dinner you can’t go wrong. For a date night there are a million other places to try…
The food was great and more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids.
This was our first visit and it was as good, no better, than everyone has said about it!
The wings were awesome and we are Southeners, so kind of wing snobs! The Caesar salad was the best as well as the chicken parmigiana and meatballs.
We are in town for the Macy’s parade, the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band is marching in it. When we come back to NYC, we will be back for the great food and awesome service!
Thank you for an incredible evening!!
First time here and it was very enjoyable. Our server Sean was excellent. I will say the portions of food is very large. You are able to get about 3 servings out of each dish. Overall we had a really nice time and the food was exceptional.
The hostess was pleasant and witty. Once we were seated however, it took almost ten minutes before we were acknowledged. Given, the restaurant was swamped at the time, but a mere introduction and "I'll be right with you" from the server would've sufficed. The food was AMAZING! Delicious doesn't begin to describe how good the lasagna was, and the chicken parm over angel hair was excellent. The garlic bread appetizer is a must and I suspect they baked the loaf to order. When they say family style, they aren't kidding, as the portions are enormous. Lively atmosphere and good attention to decor. I must say again how impressively good the food is. Would definitely recommend!
Super … I loved it
Great experience! Our server recommended a dish and it was delicious.
My 65th Birthday
We always have our family lunch date at Carmine’s. It’s part of our Christmas tradition.
Exceptional food and awesome server. Went there for a friend's bachelor party and it was a very enjoyable night. Waiter was witty and very attentive. Will definitely be coming back for big events.
