It was a great experience
Excellent food and service. Prices seemed to have increased.
Waiter was very nice. Staff all around was nice. But quality of the food has gone down since I was there pre-covid.
I am never disappointed when i walk through the doors of Carmines. Its is the place to go for large groups. The rigatoni marinara was amazing the fried zucchini was a bottomless plate!
we did not even make it to dessert. cant wait to go back. Service was great!
Great food great service family style portions
Great food and the serving staff was on point! We felt welcomed.
We met our son and daughter-in-law visiting on their honeymoon. It’s a great New York Italian restaurant. I appreciate how accommodating they were with my disabled brother
The food was very tasty, but the waiter who served us seemed like he was in a bit of a hurry to go home and was not too friendly.
A reservation for two in the outdoor dinning area @5pm.
The outdoor area is fine noise level was okay occasionally you will hear the traffic by you but it was fine. Our first waiter had an attitude of some sort. He kept rolling his eyes while we were ordering none the less we didn’t see him ever again. Never brought us our drinks nor cup of ice. We had to ask for it 2x with the lemon we first asked for as well. The food came out within 15 minutes but our pasta linguine was cool the chicken parmigiana kept it warm. It was good but would of been better if food was hot. The garlic bread was to die for. Delicious they were. And plenty for two ppl. Overall I give 91st location a 3* women restrooms should be cleaner and maintain clean at all time. Toilet paper were missing, soap dispenser were not working and the floor was horrific!!!
Great family style food. Food was very good, atmosphere is really nice!
My second time in this place- our anniversary! Our matri’de was Tye- wonderful young lady, our server was Michael- exemplary personified! Foods were excellent and worthy of their prices in Manhattan! Sadly, this time my favored French Martini drink was not available, as on my first time in Carmines, because of a an ingredient in the making of it was not available 😔
Hopefully, they will rectify this anomaly, being that a weekend crowd (Saturday) is one of their money making days of the week; therefore, they should have made the inventories fully stocked!
My hubby enjoyed our anniversary date, this was his first time, and will come back again as do I.
We highly recommend this place
Great atmosphere, very welcoming!
Carmines is always one of our favorite stops when we’re visiting NYC! It’s a must on our list. Food was amazing as always.
The food was excellent. The portions were massive. My family and I celebrated my mother's birthday. The waiters came over and sang happy birthday to my mom, and gave her some vanilla ice cream accompanied with a candle. It was a birthday celebration she would never forget.
Except for an extremely rude bartender and a slow waiter, it was good. Noise level was bothersome. Food is an incredible value for taste and quantity.
Great food served family style. Carmine’s has always been our family’s favorite spot for family gatherings.
I absolutely love Carmine's! The only thing is, in NYC, with it being outside, you can't control the external crowd. Food was excellent, as always, but we had a minor inconvenience with some partaking of marijuana near the seating.
Carmine's is a great group dining spot. Unfortunately, we didn't know picture ID was required to enter, so a member of our party couldn't join us. They were vaccinated and had an official ID, but it did not have a picture.
Other than that, Carmine's delivered a great birthday dinner!
We had a group of 8 seated and were more than satisfied with an appetizer (fried zucchini - yum/ garlic bread), 4 entrees and a tiramisu.
Our entrees, 2 pasta (rigatoni/broccoli/sausage in white sauce & penne alla vodka) and 2 meats (chicken parm & chicken marsala).
All the entrees were great and filling, plus the homemade foccaccia filled us all up to our ears.
Very good, tasty Italian food, served in huge size to share.
Excellent reception, and service was great though it was close to closing
It was very nice
Great food and amazing service. We will be regulars from now on.
Food was awesome. Drinks were exactly what you’d expect to get. Prices are pretty reasonable for the size and quality of the entrees that come out. The energy of the restaurant is exactly what our group was looking to experience and enjoy in a NYC Italian restaurant. My only gripe is that our waiter (Claudio?) was a dick. I get I’m new and some explanation of how the restaurant works can get annoying after several hours into a shift, but ordering a house red shouldn’t be hard. Nor should it be a catalyst for the customer to feel talked down to and unintelligent. I believe the end of that conversation went as follows :“(pointing at menu) Whatever you’d like to call this tiny picture of a half carafe of wine, but filled with your house red? That’s what I’m trying to order. “
Other than that, it was pretty good. I’ll be back.
Great food, service and value! Will come again! Great for sharing a meal with the family!
Our Carmines experience exceeded all our expectations! From the lovely gent at the dias to our spectacular service, nothing could have been improved upon. My North Carolina family is sure to return to visit… But not to see us, their family who lives here, but for the Caesar salad dressing!
the busboys need training, some of the dishes could be more carefully prepared, and some waiters could be more sensitive.
First time here and the food was delicious. I would definitely return for that. The noise level was excessive. The bathrooms were not clean. It was a special occasion (birthday) and no one came to sing while other tables had that occur.
Amazing, definitely worth the prices for the portions they give
The food was really good but the service was a bit slow and the place was quite loud
Went here with my fiancé for a date night and have to say we were disappointed. We have dined at Carmines all over the world and always have been impressed. This time not so much. Our waitress was way to flirty and clearly trying to hard for a tip. When we ordered our drinks and food, we got our drinks at 30 seconds later our food was out. How is that possible ? Unless it was sitting there. We ordered the Cesar salad and the pieces were large and wilted that you couldn’t even eat it. I didn’t think brown pieces should be in a salad. We got the chicken scallopino which also was average and very salty. The calamari was good but that’s the only thing that was edible. The waitress continued to flirt with my fiancé as if that could make up for the bad service. I felt it was very rushed and we would of ordered more. I do not think we will be returning here. Have to say carmines you lost some good customers.
The foods were phenomenally authentic Italian and scrumptious. The foods portions were definitely for sharing and be sated. The prices were exceptionally within the range. The cocktails were great; services were exemplary.
A place that we will come back again. Kudos Carmines at 91st Street- NYC! I hope you stay consistent.❤️
You get plenty of food. Ordered 2 entrees between 4 good eaters and still had leftovers
Loved everything except the portion size. I know it’s family style but for only two people there’s not many choices if you don’t want leftovers.
Amazing food best of the best
Fantastic waitstaff and service, great old school vibe, delicious Italian comfort food. A family favorite.
Food was a little too salty but very good otherwise.
Staff was very accommodating.
Everything was very good buy we ate outdoors and people waiting on the street were right on top of us.
Great food. Service was also good. The food did take a little too long to come. But overall it was a good experience.
Great food and atmosphere- server Noelia did a great job!
Very quiet and enjoyable at lunch
