Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests “wow-factor” sized portions and making every meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast.

I love this place!!!!! Excellent food, good wine, and excellent attention.
As a veteran patron to this restaurant, I took my friends for the first time and was only a little dissatisfied with the service. It took long for the server to come over to our table to take our orders. But at least our table was not too near others, we had enough privacy. The food was good as always, the atmosphere was quiet enough but still lively.
Widely spaced tables inside due to Covid-19. Patio/Sidewalk tables didn't have much in the way of heat but were covered. Revised menu due to Covid but most favorites were still there.
Great experience . The employees are exceptional and food amazing
The good was ok but the service was terrible. The waiter came by the table twice and forgot the bread. Never came around until he was leaving we had to ask someone else to bring me drinks and the check.
Poor service. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to table - every other table got bread- not ours.
As always, the food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. Enjoyed the Calamari with red sauce over linguine, spinach, and the ricotta cheese cake. We were tucked away at an outdoor tented table, and our server was cordial and attentive.
Everything was great.
My only problem was the out door dinning.
My friend enjoyed the outdoors i myself prefer indoor dinning.
Always on point. Carmine’s is an experience like no other
Terrible experience. Far from an upscale expectation. Unreasonably huge portions for an unwarranted price range. Bland taste to top it off.
This was the first indoor dinning at Carmines since this crazy pandemic hit us. It was my birthday dinner with close friends. The service and food was excellent. We all felt very safe inside. Carmines spread out all the tables so we all was away from one to another.
Thank you very much!!
It was our first time and had a wonderful time. It was my daughter’s birthday and food was great and dessert delicious. It will definitely be a birthday to remember.
Been coming here since 04. Still amazing.
It was great! I took my man there & it was his first time. He loved it! The food was great as always! I had shrimp pasta w/ white sauce! I want it again so tasty, I’ll be back!
We had an awesome "safe" time. Our server Eddie was amazing! Great recommendations on the food and drink menu! Our family had a good time!
Foods do service was amazing definitely will be returning
It was so nice to be back inside one of our favorite places. The food and drink menus are a bit limited now, but it’s understandable. Service was timely. Food was tasty. Steak was a bit overdone, but edible. Looking forward to making more happy memories.
Great Family style Italian Dishes. Perfect for large gatherings !
I've been to that Carmine's several times and always enjoyed the food. Though I'm glad that Carmine's is open to eat indoors, I feel like the taste of the food changed. We were disappointed that the Friday specials were no longer on the menu since the pandemic, I had shrimp parmesan, my friend a veal dish which we've both had previously, but we felt the food was a little salty. Also though pretty much empty, at 3pm, our waiter was not very attentive. The Carmine's salad didn't have any meat or cheese like it should which was rectified , but at the end the waiter never asked us if we wanted another drink, dessert, or anything else, he just bought the bill, which he had to fix because we wanted to add a take out order. Would I recommend not right now.
Charlie was so helpful. He told us about the special and even showed me a picture so I would understand portion size better. He made sure to inform of Covid guidelines and switched out the drink for my daughter when it was not to her liking. Thank you so much Charlie! See u again!
Oh my lands - this was by far the best food we had in NYC and we ate at some amazing places. We made a reservation a couple hours ahead of time, got a great table and were able to sit away from others and take our masks off at the table. Our server was friendly, helpful and fast and the chicken special (with spinach, lemon butter sauce and roasted potatoes) was incredible. Keep in mind each entree can feed up to 4 people easily so be prepared for leftovers!
The food was phenomenal, as always. We had the carbonara, which was amazing. It was rich and creamy, but surprisingly not too heavy. Their meatballs are fantastic, "density city," as described by our server. Speaking of which, Charlie was the highlight of the night. He really spent the time to have a conversation with us throughout the course of our meal, and gave the best recommendations. He had us laughing and was overall just a fantastic server, and I'd go back to Carmine's just for him.
It was my sons birthday and i told the waiter plus i send a message. I told the Maitre D but to no avail. The service was slow and not attendive. The food took longer than usual especially the bread pudding. I was very dissappointed especially after spending over 250 dollars.
The worse dining experience I’ve had in a while. Food wasn’t nearly as good as we remembered. Our calamari was soggy and our chicken Parm was bland/ undercooked with weird textured and flavored cheese.
Drinks were great, I must say. However, the service was the worse we’ve gotten in years. Our waiter kept disappearing, when food arrived there were no utensils on the table and two ppl waited 10 mins before their drink order was taken. When we complained about our food and asked to see a manager, no one was sent to our table; Just another server explaining they weren’t charging us for the food we sent back.
Excellent food and excellent value. We go often and at both locations.
We had 2 Tables that night, both had the same food on each . The food was okay!
Carmine's is my favorite restaurant of all times. Glad it's back open with outdoor seating. The service was great and I appreciated their commitment to creating a safe environment despite the pandemic.
Celebrated my Aunt's 80th birthday!!! Awesome food and service, especially from our attentive server, Omar. We will be back!
Great dinning experience! Plates are family sized to plenty if left overs to take home! This was our first time here and can’t wait to come back!
Our waiter Omar was extremely attentive and welcoming, great energy. Great service and food!! Definitely coming back 😄
Me and my friend reunited after Covid lockdown and it was a great ambience and great food.
We had an amazing time here celebrating my moms birthday
Everything was great however they did not have the first 4 bottles of wine we tried to order. They also had no wine glasses and served our wine in water glasses. They brought out a complementary dessert for our birthday boy with a candle and we were STUFFED.
Dining at carmine's was very satisfying. The food is great and plentiful. The waiter was very respectful and knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were right on the nose. I still have dinner for tonight from carmine's which I look forward to eating when I get off work tonight. Thank you. MR. Robert Brown jr.
I've dined here just two weeks before and it was FANTASTIC. This last time though was the total opposite. Seems to be cutting corners to drive down cost. Apps were rushed out, Calamari was cold. Wings were dry. The sauce must of decipated while sitting in the window under the heat lamp. Penne Ala Vodka was bland and disappointing. To our surprise an employee told us they aren't using garlic in the vodka sauce anymore. Find that very hard to believe. I know we're all going through some tough times but this visit was very disappointing to all 8 of us. I hope your experience is a much better one.
Great place to eat with the family or group dinning
Food was cold, service was terrible, we never got bread like all the other tables did. I wouldn’t go back.
Classic Italian food. The dishes are enormous! Good for sharing. It is a family restaurant, so people of all ages dine there.
