   We are small business owners in NYC and wanted to take our staff to dinner as a thank you for their hard work and loyalty throughout the year. Carmines was wonderful! The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful! Thank you for a beautiful evening!

   Best lasagna I've had possibly. Really loved the food. Incredibly busy and very loud with all of the large groups. Food served family style, so not the best for dinner for two unless you both want the same thing or want lots of leftovers.

   Too loud. Food most part was good. Clam linguine changed. More garlic than clam. Steak contadina still good. Rigatoni with broccoli, had giant chunk of uncut broccoli.

    We love coming to Carmine's for our birthdays. We understand the large portions and always plan to take some home. Tonight we were looking forward to the Carbonara Special with the linguini. The pasta was cooked perfectly, however, the sauce was extremely salty and we didn't even ask to take the rest of the pasta home. It gave me quite the stomach ache. For the next few hours, my throat could still feel the affects of the overly abundant salt. I didn't say anything about it to our server, and maybe I should have before leaving. The birthday cheesecake was,of course, a large portion. It was so light and creamy. We were happy to take the test home.

    First time dining at the Carmines Restaurant on upper west side for lunch with my daughter. The service, food was delicious and enough to bring home leftovers for dinner. We enjoyed again! Thank you

    I would've described Carmines as one of the best restaurants in NYC a few years ago, but it seems to have hit hard times with an even worst staff. The food was horrible, cold, and even had a piece of hair in it. After asking for the the clams to be removed from the table after eating two, the waitress asked us to reconsider getting another one. You would think that would be them giving it to us for free, but they wanted us to pay for both plates of clams. Besides that the bread was cold, the drinks might have been the best part, and I witnessed employees tossing things at each other, a team meeting on the floor, and just too much more. I urge them to shut down every last Carmines. It actually reminds me of Sizzlers during there demise.

    Great food and nicest staff ever, but the acoustics were ear-splittingly loud. Not for date nights. We found this as the #2 most kid-friendly listing on Yelp, but that’s not anywhere close to accurate. We had reservations for 7:00 and there wasn’t a child in the place. Entrees arrived at 8:00. (Our kids are 16, 14, and 7,so the delay was tollerable). It was all big adult birthday parties, and SO LOUD….! Happy Birthday being sung by staff every 5 minutes like TGIFridays. Really? I felt bad for the staff, as a longtime DC bartender. This is NYC, right? Cool place, nice people, good food despite insane portions. (every entree comes with 1 lb. of pasta (feeds 4 adults). Parties of 4 - trust me, stop at 2 entrees! Spent $325 with tip for 2 vegetarian adults and 3 kids. I’d recommend this restaurant because the staff was great, but the value was not there for our specific type of visit. Just know what you are getting. It was our first time and it was obviously not anyone else’s. If you like a good birthday party place, come here.

    Excellent, high quality food. Service at this location was poor. We weren’t seated for until almost 45 minutes after our reservation and it took almost 15 minutes before our server approached us. The accessory staff was great and saved the experience for us. We almost had to beg to get drink refills, silverware and our check because our server was very inattentive. Overall we love Carmines but the service at the Times Square location is much better than here.

    I appreciated them seating our party in the quietest area available. The place was packed and people were enjoying themselves. Around the bar was standing room only and people were waiting out the door to get in to wait. The staff was respectful and attentive. Thank you for the experience!

    Three of us went to lunch on a slow Saturday. We ordered an appetizer, a salad, a pasta dish and a meat dish and dessert and a cappuccino and a tea (and two alcoholic drinks). Our appetizer came out and then the two entrees arrived. The salad never arrived. When we mentioned it to the waiter, he asked if we wanted it to go........obviously not - it was suppose to be part of the lunch - and suppose to have come before the entrees. It was disappointing - and what he said was interesting "the kitchen made a mistake". No hint of an apology or taking ownership of the error. We may have ordered badly, as the chicken scaloppini was over a bed of spinach with SOOO much garlic. The spinach was like a mash of garlic, oil and some overly soggy spinach. It was nasty. The pasta was fine - nothing special at all. The waiter, I think his name was Moe, did not describe any of the dishes, did not check back to ask if everything was ok. the best thing he did was when we ordered cheesecake for dessert, he asked if we wanted half or whole. That was great as we did not know that was an option. All in all, disappointing experience. I had high expectations - and they were not met - not great food, not great service and I even had to ask for a clean water glass as mine was dirty upon arrival. Live and learn.

    We dined at the Broadway location and everything was excellent. Girlfriends wknd and us 4 ordered Caesar Salad, Spaghetti w/ Bolognese, and Chicken Parm. We left with left overs...but not much! Everything was PERFECT...Inc the cocktails!

    My wife and I recently went there to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent. We went there especially for their Ricotta Cheesecake that was out of this world. Remember when you go, it is a "Family Style" restaurant. You will get very healthy proportions. Meant for a family of four. Buon appetito

    Arrived 15 minutes early for my reservation and then had to wait an additional 35 minutes after my reservation time to be seated which was disappointing! Waitstaff was very nice. Food was very good overall but felt the lobster was off in the mixed seafood pasta dish. Every restaurant can have a challenging night. I still recommend and will return but just being honest with this specific dining experience.

    Absolutely wonderful. As every other reviewer said, the portions are gigantic! We had the mixer seafood pasta, the chicken, marsala, lasagna, and angel hair, pasta, in olive and garlic oil. For appetizer, we had the Caesar salad, and stuffed artichokes.. yes we went a little overboard. We took the leftovers and gave them to a homeless gentleman.
