Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
Very large open atmosphere, with a plenty of space between tables. The food was fresh and everything came out the way it was supposed to be. Family style restaurant so obviously the portions are large and plenty for a 3-4 person table. Price was very fair for the amount of food we got.
Waitstaff and service was exceptional. We were seated almost immediately, and they even moved us to a different table per our request in short order.
We especially appreciated the phone call after we already left in a cab that a pair of shoes was forgotten at the table. We were able to come back to the restaurant and retrieve them before it was too late.
Excellent service and menu suggestions from our waitress. We had a great time with family and friends. Reservations are a must!
The food was super delicious and the service was outstanding!! Charlie had us laughing all night and had the best recommendations. We had a really great night out!
The food was excellent and our waiter was outstanding!
The service was fast and nice. With reservation the table gets ready much faster and i like that, otherwise you would have to wait a long time. The food was very good and was served fast. Our waiter Rahim was very nice and fun. Def recommed this place to take family on a dinner.
Great restaurant! Will patron again. I have to remember its family style so I shouldnt order so much
Not as touristy as Times Square Carmines but the food is exact which is always superb. The service was more personable due to they don't have to deal with tourist as much. Awesome experience as always!
We have been to Carmines in Las Vegas and in Lincoln RI many years ago (since closed). Was very good on all points. Found NY VERY loud and over crowded, food ok (not super flavorful). Price was as expected for the portions, but $74.00 for a seafood dish rediculous! Cocktails way overpriced as well!
Great time our sons birthday! Thanks for everything
Service was not good at all unfortunately. Food was so-so. . Price was high priced for the quality. Would not recommend and definitely wouldn’t go back.
Very Nice ! Love it
Great meal. Great service. Great menu options. Had a blast.
Always a great experience. Ed was awesome and the food was so tasty and plentiful- we all left with leftovers
So my family has been coming to Carmine’s for years. It was my daughters birthday and we decided to come. I made reservations for 6:30 we were finally seated about 40 minutes later. When we got to the table they had left it kinda of dirty. There was a dirty cup with lipstick markings and one of the forks was dirty. The plates were greasy and overall it was just a bad experience. I was very very disappointed and so was my daughter. They normally sing happy birthday this time nothing. I will be making a complaint with the main office.
I absolutely LOVE this spot! Great location, beautiful neighborhood. The staff was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu items. Service was quick and with a smile. The food is awesome, probably the closest thing I ever had to old world style Italian cuisine. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
We had a dinner to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. The table was ready on time and our waitress Emily was attentive and helpful with our order. The stuffed salmon, salad of the day and chicken wings were amazing.
Carmine's is the best italian restaurant in NYC. Been coming for years & always leave satisfied. Simply the BEST!!
They were very accommodating part of our party was delayed and they gave us table while we waited!!
Raheim was nothing short of amazzzzzzzing!!!! Next time I visit I wanna sit in his section... he made my daughter's 14th Birthday Dinner one she will not forget
Food never disappoints, but the noise level was extremely high. Hard to have a conversation with my guests.
Family gathering and milestone birthdays
Disclaimer: I've been a Carmine's customer for years and years. Yes, it's touristy. Yes, it's cliche. Yes, it's ALWAYS crowded. Yes, it's noisy. Yes, it's expensive. (Moderately priced for NYC - but expensive for the rest of the planet.)
Still, it is a great - and genuinely delicious - NYC Italian food experience. In my opinion it rivals Arthur Avenue. It will be busy, but MAKE A RESERVATION. They always do a GREAT JOB honoring them. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table when I had a reservation. Bring your appetite and take home the leftovers.
We went to Carmine’s on the advice of a friend. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. Great service, too! Our only problem was that the servings come family-style—to be shared with a good-sized group. We left a lot of food behind—we were visiting NYC and had to leave very early the next day. We are hoping that kitchen- or wait-staff got to take home the fabulous eggplant parmigiana and capellini with pomodoro sauce that we left!
Food was mediocre and much too salty. It’s such a pity. A New York institution that really needs to up its game.
Excellent first experience at Carmine's. All the dishes are super sized for family style sharing. The fried calamari was perfect, light breading and crispy without being greasy. The carbonara was the best I had, al dente pasta full of flavor without being overly creamy and greasy. We ordered the veal samtiboca which was good too. There was only 3 of us so definitely leftovers. Will definitely return.
The food is delicious as always! The entrées are enough to feed 2/3 people. We went on a Saturday night so the restaurant was loud which was to be expected. Carmine’s will always be one of my favorites.
I love the food! My only problem is they pack people in too tight. When it’s crowded it feels like 40 people are at one table.
Always great. Never disappointed.
Came here for my birthday dinner. While the staff was friendly and the location as a whole was very clean, the food was served cold. It was flavorful but cold. We spoke to the manager about the cold food and he sent it back to be heated however when we got the food back it was still lukewarm/ more on the cold side. This is the 3rd time I’ve had this problem at this specific location. Many people I know complain about the same problem at this location and warned me not to go there. I decided to take the chance and unfortunately everyone in my dinner party did not enjoy the food including myself. I don’t believe I will be coming here anymore.
We love Carmines - it never fails to please. Celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday with a table of 15. Service started off a bit slow but we had a lovely and competent waitress that was a change from boisterous males of the past that "took charge" in the face of indecision and high noise volumes! But once we hit our stride - the evening, service, food and ambiance was perfect and a great fit for the event.
My boyfriend took my friends and I out for my birthday dinner. I was a Carmine’s virgin. OMG the food was amazing and the portions! Family style servings that was more than enough for our party of six. We ended up taking food home. The service was top notch. We waited for nothing. The waiter explained all the specials and answered all questions. He was very sweet. I can not say enough how happy we all were. We will be back! Thank you Carmine’s for making my birthday celebration so good!!!
The waiting area gets very crowded but it has to because this place is amazing. The food and drinks were delicious.
Excellent service! Our waiter Rahim was excellent very attentive and made great recommendations on the menu selection.
Carmine’s never disappoints. Service was excellent as was the food. We all really enjoyed our dinner there.
I hadn't been to this location before. It is the original Carmine's. This is NOW my preferred Carmine's!! Mid-town location is impossible to get quickly seated and is very loud and crowded. AC location is nice, but not local enough for us.
I loved the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The chicken parm was amazing and the drinks was refreshing. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable." Overall food and drinks were amazing and Antonio our server was very well alerted when we needed anything. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves Italian food !
Amazing as always! My fav restaurant in the City! Shrimp Scampi is second to none. I choose to pair it with garlic and olive linguini. I also love their focaccia bread! Truly a carb lovers heaven!
Waiter (Charlie) was superb. Great personality and perfect all around!
I loved our waiter, Charlie. He was funny and nice and really took the time to explain the menu and he showed us pictures of the food too.
