Carmine's - 91st Street - NYC
We had an amazing time.
Enjoyed the calamari,Cesar salad, four pasta special and the tugboat for dessert.
Charlie our server was fun and entertaining. We loved him and the food.
Horrible service and the place looks dirty. It needs a renovation. Bathroom very dirty. Horrible waiter.
Everything was great!!
Listen I’ve been to Carmine’s many times but this time will be my last. Yes the portions are large and there is plenty to share but if the food is horrible than what’s the point. The salad special of the night was something I could do with my eyes closed at a salad bar. The pasta was over cooked and soft and the sauce so salty our table ordered 5 belittles of water. Baked clams and calamari were good. Felt bad for the waiter as he was excellent
We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time and were seated right away. The food came out very quickly and tasted as delicious as usual! We love Carmine’s!
Birthday celebration . Food was delicious. More than reasonably priced for manhattan. Waiter forgot to bring our salad but more than enough food without it so we didn’t care. Didn’t love the eggplant parmigiana but the chicken scarpiello and penne vodka were outstanding. Fried zucchini and stuffed artichoke appetizers were delicious. Will be back again
Food is always spot on reliable. Great portions to share. Service attentive. Recommend for groups to share .
A good time with great food and good service, until we were told we had been there long enough by the Maitre de. Truly we had not been there any longer than any other table around us. We were with friends we hadn’t seen for quite awhile and were having a good time visiting. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food was outstanding!
Food was great and had very large portions at reasonable prices.
The food was delicious!! Our server was great, friendly, knowledgeable and funny!! (My apologies I don’t remember his name.:-( ). Looking forward to returning!!!
We are from Missouri and had never heard of Carmine's. We were talking to a man on the subway about some places to eat and drink. His first suggestion was Carmine's! We are so thankful that we started a conversation with him because our evening was an absolute delight! Our server was tremendous and a great conversationalist! We loved how personal he made our visit! The food was scrumptious! We had the mixed greens, lasagna, and shrimp scampi. We also had a cheesecake to go since we were too full to enjoy it on the premises! You have regular customers because when we talked to the people in your establishment, they were knowledgeable about the cuisine and talked about how often they try to visit. There's an area in St. Louis known as The Hill. It is a great place full of Italian restaurants. We would love if you'd choose that area to put in a restaurant! We'd definitely come eat there!
Good food. Just to much for 3 people. Have to go with at least 5 people
We Had to wait a hour for seating. We had reservations for 830 didn't sit down till about 930.
I would not recommend Carmine's to a friend to go eat at. I would recommend it to a friend who wants to go eat with at least 10 other friends. It's loud, it's a madhouse, but the food is great and the service is pretty darn good too, it's just overall crazy energy. I ate here about 10 years back and never returned and I remembered immediately why. I believe back then we had 6 people but last night only four. With only four people we all had to agree on only one dish and one side dish. This gave us all plenty to eat and we took -about the other half we didn't et home which turned out to be 6 lbs of food. Let me repeat. The leftovers were 6 LBS. We ordered the seafood special and a side of broccolis. 4 adults. $120 plate plus the 10 or 20 for the broccoli. Turned out to be pretty affordable considering I'll be eating leftovers for a week....
Service and food were excellent will highly recommend
Carmines is always great. The only fly in the ointment was their version of "Titanic". It is our family favorite birthday dessert, but the titanic at Carmines on 44 is much better. There is more "stuff" in it, including pirouette cookies. This was missing lots and looked like ice cream with GOBS and GOBS of whipped cream. Very disappointed, since we were there for a birthday. Lastly, your floor is VERY slippery. I felt like I was skating back and forth to the restroom.
Great local spot near the 1, 2, 3 subway stations! Food was yummy, but know that this isn't the best place for a date or for a table of two - most items on the menu are made for a minimum of 5+ people! It was hard to order a meal with variety for just two people. Other than that, complimentary bread basket was delicious, food was delicious, and service was great! Ambiance was comforting and noise level was reasonable - could carry on a good conversation, even with large groups in the area celebrating birthdays :) Can't wait to go back with a larger group so I can truly enjoy the yummy food at Carmine's!
Amazing Italian food. Great for large groups. The food is only served family style, so my date and I took home lots of food, which was still amazing when reheated.
Food and service was great
Great for an anniversary dinner!
++++++++++++++Very excellent service++++++++++++++
Waiter Austin was clueless, took friend for birthday celebration and received worst service ever. I’d been before and good time but we had to wait 15 mins between each app and could not enjoy like you are suppose to. I spoke to manager who brought food right away so I don’t know why our disinterested waiter could not do the same. I know Carmine’s is better than one waiter, however it was a very disappointing dinner.
Amazing food as always but it was VERY hot in the restaurant and the food came out WAY too fast.
It was a dinner with my sons on our first vacation together since their mom and I separated and divorced in 2013-2014.
Consistently good with large portions and fresh ingredients. A family favorite.
Amanda was the server for my family. She was pleasant and made good recommendations. The food was incredible as always at any carmines location. Great family restaurant!
My friends and I went on Saturday afternoon, the food was great. We totally enjoyed our meal and the ambiance. The ravioli and meatballs are always the best, I had to take some home for the family.
Food is excellent as well as the service. I made reservations and I got seated right away. The waiter was excellent was well as the staff. Perfect restart for a date and family.
Great place for a group get-together. Old style Italian. Family style with huge portions.
Always beyond delicious, with great service. However, I noticed the portions got smaller but the prices stayed the same or went up...been happening over the course of the last few years.
Even with a reservation expect to wait to be seated. We waited only about 10 minutes. Hostess and Bouncer were rude when you check in, I guess they think all their guest are from NY. However, once we got seated the server was excellent (Chris). The food was excellent as well. Loved the energy from all the guest in the room. Overall great NYC dinner.
It was a great dinner but too noisy and crowded.
It is geared for large parties and two people are really not
The target audience of this resyaurant
Overall good. Chicken raw and had to be redone. Service was slow.
Always an amazing feed,,, don’t over order! See you next time..
Hands down the best value for your dollar. Excellent food every time. Huge portions. You will have it for lunch the next 2 days.
The waiter was unenthusiastic not even a smile.
One of my favorites places in New York, this and Times Square location. This time my favorite Mixed Seafood Pasta did not have lobster to order when we arrived, but waiter recommended something that I've always wanted, mixed seafood with mussels, shrimp, clams, calamari and in white sauce for sure, the way my father taught me.
Perfect, awesome, delicious.....
Took a trip from New Jersey into NYC. Carmine’s never disappoints! Great busy vibe. Food was excellent as always! The Caesar salad was the absolute BEST we ever had!! So fun and always huge family style portions.
The food was absolutely delicious! Carmine’s never disappoints!
I would die for this place. Well, maybe not die, but I do travel from New Jersey to come here. Great food, amazing prices for New York City and in general, and great staff. Love this place.
