Started out a wonderful dinner and the food was amazing! Our waiter did not check back with us after taking our order and we waited for our check with empty drinks and would’ve loved dessert. Instead we missed out on celebrating my sisters birthday with dessert due to the lack of service from our waiter.
We were there 15 mins before our reservation and checked in immediately. Told to wait at bar and names were never called. 45 mins later checked ion table again and they had never even checked us in. Gave us a table immediately but then no server ever came to our table for another 20 mins. Food was great but very disappointed in reservation system and servers.
Price very good
Our first meal after arriving in new York following our 8 hour flight, it was simply delicious.
Great food!!! Anthony our server was awesome!! Sad he had to leave - his shift was over!!!
One down side but didn’t really bother us- was getting our bread after our main meal arrived!!
One major let down - We tried walk in service, we were told we have nothing but you can sit at bar! however we made a reservation using open table app and were able to book a reservation for 30 minutes later!! I actually made the reservation while walking out!!
Very nice server. Food good, traditional, family style italian. Prices fairly reasonable for Manhattan.
Family restaurant, with BIG servings with fair price, very good food ! For the people that never went to Carmines this is my advice: share the plates ! Or check the tables next you to see the size of the servings, because its really very big!
Great time of dinning, socializing, enjoying of the atmosphere and eating great food. A time of fun for all
We always love Carmines! The food never disappoints.
I checked in and had to wait for my table. In the meantime I met some friends who sat in the section for no reservation and they invited me to sit with them. When they called my name for my reservation I answered then I got a message saying I did not show
Carmine's is a no-fail option for a pre/post theater meal. Just make sure you reserve a table ahead of time via opentable bc it gets packed. Family style Italian with something for everyone. The only challenge is that you need to get everyone in your party to agree on a dish or two bc each dish is designed for sharing. Enough for 3 hungry adults or 2 adults and 2 kids without second helpings.
Everything from food to service was outstanding reservations commitment was great and on time it was a great experience I would recommend it for get together's friend group
My daughter and I had an early dinner before going to a broadway musical. It was a special occasion birthday gift for her 14th birthday. The salad and raviolis were amazing and the food portions could have fed 4 grown men. Loved the wine. Fun classic Italian atmosphere and great service. Worth the experience when in NY. Loved it.
Fantastic as usual! Consistently great food, very sweet, helpful waiter and great value! Just wished lived closer, would eat there all the time. It is our first choice when we come to the city from the Hamptons for a show! Recommend it highly!
Such a wonderful place to gather with friends and family. The atmosphere reminds me of Italian holidays and special occasions from my childhood with all the energy and enthusiasm that being together can bring. The food is simply spectacular, beginning with the wonderful bread placed on the table all the way to the delicious dessert for the grand finale!!!
Delicious meal. Very attentive staff and generous portions!
Always enjoy , Carmine’s a must when we visit NY food good, staff friend.
Paul was our server. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Love this place!
The food we ordered was too salty. The potions are double, so is the price, therefore you don‘t have chance to try more dishes. The style of the inside decorations are very nice, service was good too.
Amazing Dinner! Great Caesar salad, garlic bread and chicken parm. The Titanic dessert was worth it for a special occasion and it was delicious! The service was almost as good if not better than the food. Everyone was personable and friendly! A definite for any trip in Times Square, especially if you have 4 or more.
Carmine's is like your neighborhood Italian restaurant on steroids. It is loud, busy, crowded and the food is like eating at your grandmother's table. It is served "family style" and each plate is enough to feed a family of 3-4. I thought, given this scenario that the food would be processed and poor but I was happily surprised that the food was delicious. We shared a Caesar salad that was nothing more than lettuce and a food bread crumbs (but it was fresh and tasty) and linguine and meatballs (the size of a cue ball). That dish was immense and it was so delicious that we almost finished it. The pasta was done well (maybe a little soft but I like it that way); the meatballs were delicious and the sauce was light and not overdone, so you could taste the food. Loved the basket of assorted breads.
The service was friendly and efficient. Tables were close but it was fun to talk to neighbors as their eyes bulged when seeing the plates arrive. We walked out stuffed and enjoyed every bite.
Our reservation was for 5:00 pm and we were seated at 5:45 pm. Paul, our server immediately stopped by the table for our drink order and was prompted serving and took orders for apps and entrees. The app came out after about 15 minutes and was good (calamari). Once done and the tabled cleared, Paul said that the entrée (shrimp parm)would be out shortly. Shortly turned out to be almost an hour. He kept apologizing that the kitchen was backed up. When the entrée did come out, stoned cold, as if was left on a counter with no warming, mozzarella cheese topping was rubbery. Totally not palatable. Again he apologized and took it back, at which time I asked for the check. Time to go.
We had frequented Carmine's on numerous occasions and it appears that the kitchen is cranking out sub par meals to unsuspecting tourists. For locals, like us, we see a change for the worse. Exec chef and sous chef should pay a better attention to what is coming out of their kitchen. It will be a long while until we go back again.
A reservation had been set for early theater night at 5PM; Crowd striving to enter was thick as well as those at the bar--shoulder to shoulder....however, we announced our 5pm reservation and were instantly seated!!!
The menu is always set and is printed on the wall! This was perhaps our 10th carmine's visit including Las Vegas Carmines. Our guest couple enjoyed the energy level of the packed restaurant.
Waiter was friendly, helpful in explaining details of dining and was attentive at all the right times.
Carmine's is not elegant quiet dining...... Carmine's is Times Square NYC and is overflowing with
noise and excitement!
We are visiting New York from Mobile, AL. We heard Carmine’s was really good from several people back home and we are so glad we decided to try it! Everyone who served us was super friendly and the food was awesome! Best dining experience ever! We can’t wait to try it again!
I wish I could remember our servers name but he was wonderful. Food was amazing like I remember. It's been 15yrs since I last was here.
Waiters and bus help lacked attention to details, especially when you needed a refills of water, basaltic vinegar, olive oil and other items.
Took 4 kids-fast and attentive service. Food was delicious.
Delicious food, family style portions which means that you don't have to order a lot. We ordered a ceasar's salad, lasagna(unbelievable how many layers of them), a glass of wine and two soft drinks. Everyone leaves this place with some food for home as you can't eat it all. I would go back again!
Great food and lots of it ;served family style). You won’t go home hungry.
Great experience. We were seated with minimal waiting time. It was my family’s first experience there and they were impressed. Food was delicious as always.
Large portion sizes, you don’t need as much food as the waiter tells you!
Excellent late lunch on a weekday for my wife and myself. The food and service were excellent but the serves were too large which resulted in wasted food. This restaurant should offer smaller servings to avoid such wastage of food.
Carmines Creates Memories!
This authentic family style NYC restaurant is perfect for so many occasions. Bring your appetite - the food is scrumptious and plentiful! The staff is friendly and helpful and the ambiance is cultural and memorable!
The food might be classic Italian but it was done very well. It was served family style. Our waitress, Chi, was fantastic and made sure we didn’t order too much.
Perfect food. Chicken part and penne alla vodka were outstanding
The location on 44th st in New York is a great location if you are going to see a show. They have a lot of gluten free options. The waitstaff is very friendly and the food was great.
We took our daughter for her 21st birthday. Unfortunately, she left her identification at home. She even forgot to bring the lipstick. Papa was our waiter, he was quite efficient and happy. The quantity of food was a Normas! Our daughter was very happy however, she would have leftovers for quite some time.
