Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests “wow-factor” sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast.
Platters of made to order antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. We were here the weekend before the city shutdown to limit contact and contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Broadway was dark and the thousands of employees that work in the food and entertainment industry are now facing new challenges. The four of us had a very nice dinner. I'm glad we had a chance to help the local economy. Be safe and we look forward to returning to Carmine's once the city returns to normal.
The restaurant was beautiful and the service was amazing!
Great as always. Service is great and food is consistent. Portions are huge so keep that in mind when ordering!
I picked Carmines based on the Open Table reviews. We had a reservation at 9 and had to wait 45 minutes for a table. I don't know if this is normal for NYC or perhaps its the virus that threw everything off. After the long wait, I was disappointed with the service and the food. My food was cold and the server didn't come back to check on us until much later. By that time, we were ready to go, so I didn't say anything. We had a 5 year old with us and he was getting antsy.
I suppose if we are ever back in NYC, we may give them another try. I was just disappointed overall with the food and service. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and consider the that the threat of the Corona virus had everyone in a tizy.
Carmine's was wonderful as always. The food was extraordinary and the staff terrific
Family style dining. Great food!
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Didn’t even wait to be seated.
Must visit while in NYC and we always love our experience. Thank you for always being amazing
If you can overlook the noise level, the experience along with family style food is great. Service was excellent, but I think that’s to get you in and out.
Food was delish ~The chicken cutlet parmigiana & Three Cheese Ravioli~ Portions size are huge (feeds 3-4 per dish) Servers are very nice. Ambiance is old school/traditional - classic vibes ~feels like you're at the grandparents home eating a goood meal! Looking forward to returning!
The restaurant is good, service is impeccable, food delicious...
We will visit again
absolutely amazing service!
Always a good time! Delicious food and great service!!
Excellent food, good service
What a fabulous New York experience. Great ambience great staff and fabulous food. Only criticism... too much food. Loved it. I will be back
It was fun to dine in such a landmark style restaurant, and the atmosphere didn’t disappoint.
The food was good, my 16 and 19 year old thought it was the best chicken parm they ever had, but the pasta was undercooked, and the chicken in the penne, chicken, broccoli was over cooked. Meatballs were good.
The service was disappointing. Our waiter was curt and condescending. For a family of 5, for which it was our first visit, the experience would have been better with a server who could make recommendations, and answer our questions without snide remarks.
Glad I went, but for the money, definitely not worth it.
This was the first time we ate at Carmine's. It was a wonderful experience all around - the drinks, the food, the place was great - everything was great. I will always highly recommend it.
Wonderful experience. Wonderful food. Beautiful restaurant
The food was excellent, the staff was attentive, the manager was delightful, and we left stuffed, tipsy, and happy. The only less than steller item at our table was the Bloody Mary one of our party ordered; she reported it was fine, not excellent. Food is served family style, and we ordered manicotti, which amply fed us 3 ladies, and a ceasar salad (huge, had leftovers). Do save room for dessert! It will be worth it! We had the cheesecake and the chocolate torte. Divine! I may have to change my address to the gym to make up for the calories consumed. Worth it!
great time
Great lunch! Meatball and Italian cheesesteak sandwiches were very tasty!
Giant and delicious meal!! Great ambient and really recommended
Dishes were 35 to 45 per plate. Bread came out ice cold. Waited for server for at least 15 min. Asked server about bread and she said "our bread comes cold"
We walked out.
Great food, everything was so delicious. Quiet enough ambiance.
Outstanding food and service. Food is served family style and the amounts are ginormous!
Very good service and food ! Hostess could be a little more nicer !
Thank you for a special evening!
Friends eating a great meal in break from cursed child parts one and two.
Dinner during the Harry Potter two part play.
Food was delicious! Shareable portions hence the prices. Would definitely go back!
So much wonderful food. Try not to over order. Lol
Food and service were outstanding. Family dining style is great value, dishes feed 5 each easily.
It was my 32nd ‘s bday.
I didn’t feel like it was anything special. Basically felt like we were being rushed to eat and leave. Food was ok. The only good thing about this place is it stays open until later.
Not enough vegetarian options. Waiter was very rushed and uninterested in everything.
We were visiting NYC from Minnesota and had a great experience!
If you're looking for "great" Italian food - Carmine's is an excellent choice.
My favorite restaurant in NYC!!!!
Brought my nephew and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Such a great experience. !
We arrived early, about 45 minutes because we only arrived in New York that afternoon so walked to find the restaurant, when we got there asked if we could dine early and there was no problem. Really impressed. The service and food were second to none and so very reasonable. Eat out in Downtown New York for 25 dollars including tips bargain.
Dinner before a show
Our waiter Peter was phenomenal. Fantastic combo of professionalism and friendly personality.
