Has to be one of the best family restaurants in New York City.
The food is amazing - massive family portions - and the ambience is superb.
If you want a low key restaurant in NYC for you and your family then this is for you!!
My friends and I had the most amazing experience at Carmine’s!!! We made reservations and got seated right away! The family style Italian food is so fun and you may have extras depending on how many people are with you. We ate the chicken parmigiana and had tiramisu for dessert. This was the best pasta I’ve ever had! Highly recommend.
AMAZING and never ever disappoints. The food is always consistent and absolutely delicious and authentic in taste. Service is outstanding with friendly staff and extremely accommodating. Our bus & train was delayed which caused a delay of more than half hour and they were very accommodating and held our reservation for us.
It is a factory. Appetizers to main course were brought out within 20 minutes of ordering, and hot food was cold.
No longer a decent place to go with a group. This is the second time to have had experienced such poor service.
Services is terrible
Great meal something for everyone! Service was super!
We loved their chicken Marsala 🙌🏼 Give it 5 stars! We also got a ravioli dish. I didn’t like that you had to pay extra for pasta with the entrees. Eleven dollars was kind of pricey for angel hair pasta 😱 The portions are huge - can feed 4-5 people easily!
I had heard allot of good things about Carmines. Was extremely disappointed in service. I had made a reservation and showed up 5 minutes before hand. We had to stand in a crowded bar area for over 25 minutes PAST our reservation time. Once we were seated, it was 10 minutes before we were brought any water or before our waiter even acknowledged us.
The food was excellent. Just was not expecting this type of service.
It was perfect.
Great pasta! Should come back next time here in NYC
Location is great for an after theatre experience. We had the lasagna and it was really good. Although do not expect anything fancy. It is simple and a bit loud.
The experience and food was great!
Awesome food, awesome energy, highly recommended!
Had my wife and grandchildren with me. Tasted like a Sunday dinner at my nonna’s house
Excellent food in this Italician family restaurant. Food was tasy and pleantifull portions. Highly recommend
Great food and service!
Excellent food. Great ambiance. You’ll never leave hungry.
It is good food and meant to be a fun experience. The waiter was a bit rude. He was hesitant to split checks for our group and then said he could when I suggested he check with his manager. Also, when I asked for a kids menu and he replied that we didn’t need one since all the kids could share. The busboys were a little rude. Literally pushed into me to reach for plates without even saying “excuse me”.
Be prepared (we weren't; mea culpa) for family-style food, and massive portions. We ended up getting an appetizer and a main pasta dish, both of which were very good, and more than enough for four of us. Dessert was huge and yummy, but the cappuccino was undrinkable. The noise level was insanely high, mostly, I think, because every available inch of space not required for the wait staff (who were excellent) to move through was crammed full of people. All in all, an enjoyable experience, but maybe not enjoyable enough to repeat.
So much food! Huge portions which goes along with the price. Great Gluten Free pasta! Best if you have 4 people or 2 people sharing one meal. Service was great.
Always delicious. We make reservations every time we visit NYC!
This was the best Italian food I have ever had. The Cesar salad was absolutely incredible.
We’ve always heard great things about Carmine’s & they certainly did not disappoint! Our entire experience was excellent & we can’t wait to go back!
We were visiting New York from Ireland for St Patrick’s weekend and asked a friend from NYC to recommend somewhere good to eat, Carmines was the answer! The food, service and atmosphere were fabulous, it was the best meal we had during our 5 day visit. Would recommend pre-booking through the website to ensure you get a table; we’ll definitely be back on our next trip.
Carmines is our “go to” italian restaurant in Manhattan. They never disappoint. We had reservations for after our play, arrived on time and were seated within 5 minutes. As always, each entree was enough to feed 3-4 adults, once you included a pasta.
Blown away by how authentic and delicious the food is. Loved everything about this place !!!!!!
The Food was very good as it always is. We always make reservations and this time we did not get seated right away for our reservation time. We waited over an half and hour to be called and seated to a table in which I had to ask if they ever called us for seating. The place was very busy and our service could not keep up with the tables that they were covering. We go there all the time when we are in the city and this time the experience was not up to par for us as it usually is. We had met friends there that never been there before and we all decided not to have desert and coffee so we could get out of there.
This is an iconic New York restaurant. Real old school Italian food cooked just like home. The portions are ginormous. 1 serving on the menu is meant to be shared among 2-3 people. We were disappointed that the waiter did not give us more advice when it came to ordering. The service was mediocre at best. Our server forgot to bring our wine and was not overly friendly. Definitely a must do just because of legacy and the food was pretty delicious. This is a super busy and loud restaurant so if a quite meal is what you are after, this is not the place for you.
I think this place lives up to the hype. The food and service were excellent. We had a nice leisurely meal, which is appreciated in a fast paced restaurant.
We had lunch here before seeing a Broadway show. I was impressed with the quick service. The food tasted like it came right from your grandmothers kitchen. Delicious! Portions are huge so it’s a great place to go with a group. I would definitely go back.
Great place to take kids before a play. Food was plentiful and delicious!!
Great dining experience. It's NYC pricing, but the food is excellent!
Food was very good. Family portions. Each main course should be shared with 2-3 people. We got a side of spinich and it should feed 4 easily. Restaurant is really only available for reservations. Make them a few days in advance. Service was good. Food was worth the cost.
The food was great, and it's so much food. We came for my father's birthday and he loved it. Couldn't ask for anything better.
The food and atmosphere was great!
My first time at Carmine’s! Food was great! Huge portions (we were warned) Great service, fun atmosphere
Carmines is always a family favorite, great atmosphere and food.
