Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC Ratings and Reviews
This place is my "go to" when friends and family are visiting. You can always count on great quality and delicious food. Though serving portions have decreased over the years. For the chicken param you used to get 6 chicken breasts now it's 4. But those are the times...
They derive it family style and the portions are huge and when I say huge I mean huge. The meal was very good though and the service was good. We were here during the holidays so the inside was decorated very pretty. It’s a great place for a good meal and experience. I highly recommend making a reservation I booked on open table which I love and had no issues at all and the place was packed.
the food was good but it was cold this is the third time i have been to Carmine's and the food was cold,Also a suggestion for seating two people using half portions, plenty of people frequent your establishment and are in the city for a show or shopping and cannot take there food with them. There has to be a better way of organizing your reserved people its so crazy at the front door..
We made a reservation for 5:30 and arrived at 5:20. We were greeted with a friendly staff and seated right away! Our waiter was friendly and made great Recommendations. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was too! It's definitely
A New York staple! We will be coming here every time we come to New York!
I'd been to Carmine's several times and thought it might not be good for a romantic meal however I had never been seated upstairs. My husband and I had a lovely meal along with tables of other couples. There is another bar upstairs to drinks were delivered quickly. We didn't wait long for our appetizer or main entrée. We will definitely be back.
Family style portions serving 6-8 people. Food is great, our waiter was attentive, fun, and genuine. Felt like I was at a big wedding!! We went after seeing the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. 6 people (3 couples) shared and appetizer, 2 dishes plus a dessert and two pitchers of Sangria. With tip, it was $105 per couple!! AWESOME and we will be back again!!!
We went for a pre-theater meal. The service was pretty good. Our waitress wasn’t the most attentive but when we flagged her down she would bring refills and other requests in a timely manner. We ordered one order of rigatoni with meatballs for the adults and chicken strips for the kids. The rigatoni platter was huge with six baseball sized meatballs. This was more than enough food for 4 adults. My kids shared the chicken strips which came with penne noodles. They did not like the chicken. I tried it and thought they were very good - just not what my kids expected and a little spicy for young kids. They were a pounded breaded breast sliced into strips. Not fried chicken fingers which they were expecting. We had leftovers at the end which we didn’t take with us which was good as you’re not allowed to bring food into the theater.
As usual, Carmines was great. Food, service and ambience were outstanding. Went after seeing the Christmas Spectacular with my family. Was very crowded and loud. But that's what makes it more fun. Portions are meant for sharing and are immense. You will love this place! Been there so many times and continue to come back because it's a fun place to go with great food. Try it and you will be sold.
Wish I had known everything came in a portion size to feed 4-5 people. I had dinner with my daughter and wanted a salad. I had to pay $26 for a salad that serves 4, even though it was only for me. And the entree, same thing. So we had to agree on what to irder and share it, and even that was too much food. We could take it home because we were going to the theater. So if you’re less than 4 people, don’t eat here!! That said, the food was excellent!
My favorite restaurant for get together with friends and family .I have been coming to Carmine's since 80's and will keep coming and recommending my favorite dishes ( Linguine with white clam sauce with super fresh super sized clams , awesome calamari, stuffed mushrooms, spinach salad, ...basically the entire menu).
I made my reservation on line . It was easy , hassle free and soo convenient . Lunch menu was a plus with almost half price on pasta dishes.
Highly recommended . Gotta try if you are in NYC!!!
It’s been a few years since our last visit and we were happy to discover the same great food and service. Would recommend Carmine’s as the perfect place for preshow meal for small and large groups. Lunch portions are perfect for smaller groups. Penne with vodka sauce remains our absolute favorite, it’s the still the best we’ve ever had and we’re from nj where Italian eateries are a dime a dozen. Looking forward to returning soon
